Lol they literally talked amongst themselves, and was like "hey this....🎵🎵🎶" Together...."oh yeah, okay." All sing then it turns out like THAT!! Absolutely AMAZING crazy talent. All of them.
Anyone who thinks Mitch's voice is too shrill when singing high needs to watch and listen to this compilation. They highlight him a lot on their singing tiktoks. Ptx knows what theyre doing and what will get views. His voice couldn't sound more angelic and beautiful. His tone is stunning in so many of these songs.
They just recently released the recent live version. You might enjoy seeing the differences between Avi and Matt that it showcases while being 100% equally awesome. You know Mitch actually claimed he was only a good "studio" singer. He said this in this last weeks podcast and fortunately Austin didn't let him get away with that bull pucky. I mean, how is he not equally good or better, live? And the best singers on Earth, of which he is one, can occasionally sing an off note when they just wake up, or miss a riff it they aren't warmed up, or whatever he thinks makes him only a good studio singer. *snort* "Only a good studio singer," my ass, cupcake, this proves otherwise (as if we needed proof).
I just wrote the same about both live versions. Also I couldn't believe when I heard Mitch say that on his podcast. He's one of the most consistent live singers I've ever heard.
@@PtxXtp Right?😄 Reality check, Mitchell. You're outstanding, kiddo, whenever, wherever. Even when he is actually TRYING to sound bad he barely manages slightly less good.
Totally agree! I was like 😲😲when he said that.. does he really think so? Thankfully Austin insisted that it's absolutely not true.. sometimes I think he really doesn't know how extraordinary he is
@@ptxlover6878 I've been thinking about it. Maybe he thinks that if he can't improv perfection every time - if he has to run through something a few times to craft it into the way he wants it to sound - then he must not be as good as everyone says. I suggest he remember the underpaintings discovered under the works of the great masters. The very best art is a process. He has both intelligence and wisdom in that brain of his, so he surely knows from an intellectual perspective that he's extraordinary, but there is a nitpicky perfectionist living up in there, too, and it needs to sit its little ass down and leave him be, lol.
09:33 That is their Perfume medley, sung partly/mostly in Japanese. You need to see it to see Kirstie's makeup and Mitch's bald head. Perfume is (I am told) a very popular J-Pop girl band, and at least some of PTX are very appreciative of them. Oh, and of course they were complimented on their Japanese pronunciation!
Fun fact: Perfume came to a Pentatonix concert when they toured Japan in 2020. They met backstage before the concert. They gave Pentatonix small gifts and they took pictures together. It was all so cute. It was on the 2020 PTXperience video. I wonder if Pentatonix members were nervous singing Perfume's songs with them in the audience.
I'm totally with you, it still blows my mind how good they sound just randomly singing, particularly Mitch - how can you not love him, he has the most beautiful moving voice in the world.
So glad you got to this one. The very first song is what they auditioned for the sing off with. "Just for Now" is on one of their Christmas albums. A Mitch eargasm. No video, but worth the listen. It might be worth considering reacting to songs they don't have videos for. Some real gems.
I’ve watched PTX with awe for 13 years. I know their studio work gets processed by engineers as does every recording artist. But I’ve heard them live and unfiltered enough to know how incredibly talented each one is. Together they are magic. Mitch’s voice abilities have always blown my mind. I’ve never seen a reactor watch Hallelujah who didn’t lose their mind over Mitch’s verse.
YES. Please listen to Just For Now! Also, if you join Mitch’s Patreon, he goes live sometimes and will sing covers live for us. Or just sing randomly for fun and it is a mind blowing experience every time.
They are ridiculously talented and Mitch’s vibrato is gorgeous. Yes, Hallelujah was your first PTX, reaction and my first time watching your reactions, the live version is so, so good ❤️
Love that you're watching this one because people usually watch their older off mic performances. So it's fun to see you witness them still killing the game off mic
One of the reasons I love the "I hate you" song (which is hilarious) is that we finally get to see what a darling, petite little woman Kirstie actually is. Without lifts of various heights, she's actually about 7" shorter than Mitch, and about 14" less than Scott. But we love, love, love her anyway, and of late, she's returned to wearing high heels, but not trying to get up higher. She's finally realized that she doesn't have to be their equal in height to be the powerhouse of the group. She is loved and valued regardless!
I vote to revisit Hallelujah but maybe 2 live versions. The one with avi from their Christmas special and then the one with Matt from they Evergreen tour that ptx recently released on their channel. Both very good and very much the same but also different. Would love to see both done back to back on your channel. Both good quality recordings too. Audio and video were professionally recorded for each.
Hello Sacuey Dad. PTX in the stairwell !!! Epic!! "That's Christmas To Me" Remember you reacted to PTX games when Mitch sang that? The music video of that is beautiful. Yes, do re-visit Hallelujah. That should be wonderful.
Have said it so many times, they could sing the phone book and I would play over and over again. Love them all but Mitch's voice tugs on my cold black heart which almost nobody or anything does.
I wish the person who put together the compilation would have put the entire building of the Daft Punk duet up instead of just the very last "complete" one... because every build-up is on TikTok, they released one a day or so.
The song you didn't know was the Perfume Medley. Kristen was singing in Japanese. "Perfume" is a girls singing group in Japan. My daughter teachs English in Japan and said Kristens Japanese is spot on without an American accent.
That will be so much fun to revisit Hallelujah. As you say, Patreon will be a good place to post and go from there. PTX is amazing and added a new genre to my music library. 🎼🎵🎧🎶 The stairway singing is absolutely some of the best acoustics you can get. Love this !!!
I would be down for you taking a look back at the original Hallelujah video. You could do the live one as well - maybe make it a double with a rewatch of the video to see how close it is (and they just released a live one from the Evergreen tour with Matt - so that's yet another one you could do - though that is different because the parts are slightly different and Avi's old part is re-arranged to suit Matt's strengths). All of them are good
I don't know whose idea it was, but I think the "I hate you" thing came up after something happened to a couple of their videos on their UA-cam channel, they got pirated or taken down or something. It was a while ago, I honestly can't remember. Maybe it was when someone shared a Patreon exclusive early release link on social media. I know that happened once, because then they had to remove it from Patreon. Love your PTX reactions!
While not exactly a stairwell, they've done a few in parking garages. Their video of "Somebody That I Used to Know" appears to have been shot in the corner of a parking garage, and shortly after they performed "Without You" on the Sing-Off (13th performance on finale night), a performance they weren't happy with, largely because of technical problems with their in-ears that caused them to get a little out of sync and off key, they sang it in a parking garage (probably at the hotel they were staying at for the show) and it came off almost perfect. ua-cam.com/video/RdH7ll4OM8w/v-deo.html Can you imagine going into that garage to park your car, or going to your car to leave and stumbling across them doing that?
This was a great treat! 😃🤩 loved your reaction… as usual! Talking about stairwells 😂🤣 have you heard Avi’s new clip Hoist the colors … I hope you are ready for it 🤣😂
The song you didn't know is in Japanese. It's from a medley of the Japanese girl group, "Perfume". Check out the official video called "Perfume Medley". The last part, "Just for Now" where Mitch is on his phone, just reminds me of their "Filming of Evergreen" and many times the camera pans to Mitch where he was on his phone. I didn't see any of the others with their phone during that video.
Thanks, Nick - glad you enjoyed it, well worth the wait. I watched your original reaction to the Hallelujah MV not too long ago and YES, it would be a great idea for you to revisit it now. 🤯🤯🤯
Great reaction Saucey Dad! I think they sound so good because they are such good friends who share the spotlight to make the songs sound best, checking their egos at the door.
There are two live versions of Hallelujah that I have seen. I far prefer the one with Avi. I actually prefer it to the official video. So, if you see it a second time, give yourself a gift and see the live version.
It would be awesome to revisit Hallelujah! Maybe you could do like a double header lol. Re-watch the video but then check out the live or something like that
If you want to revisit “hallelujah “ please do the live version from their evergreen tour with Matt 🤯 (I can’t remember if you’ve already done that? 🤔)
I can't wait till we get into Christmas and you start breaking into their Christmas albums and songs that might be a good time to touch on hallelujah and Mary did you know
I would love to see you revisit Hallelujah and several other of the videos you have already done. I think the new perspective on many of the videos would be fascinating.
@@jcs1025 Yeah, it's a new recording and probably sung live a few times, but not fully live. Which is common for stuff like that. No way those small mics (one rubbing up on Scotts beard!) could pick up such clean sound.
