I bought my IS250 a week exactly from today and it came with a bad water pump.. I was able to drive it back an hour or so away without it overheating even! Got everything fixed within the next day
Hey Christian! I literally just did mine before watching this video, although I think I have a leak still ugh so annoying.
I did this myself - Lexus of Portland quoted me 1.2k and I got it done with my brother for $110 (WP and Blue Loctite) I topped off the Toy/Lex Super Long Life left in the system with Peak 50/50 Prediluted Antifreeze + Coolant :|

Mine just went out this evening. It was making that same sound and after I took it to the stealership to get an oil change. It started making this clicking rattling sound and now just a few days later, it broke. I think the tech purposely loosened the pully to make it fail faster.

My water pump went out about a year ago it wasn’t too bad of an install
I changed my water pump last year because my engine overheated ever so slightly. I also changed the thermostat. It’s good to get these changed around 120-150k miles. Glad I took care of it
I took mine to the dealership for the exact same noise. I wish I replaced the thermostat when I did it! ( '09 250 AWD @ 95,000)

I’m thinking about buying a 2009 IS 250. It runs so smooth, the interior is amazingly pristine, but the car has 189,000 miles! Do you think it will last? The car lot’s charging about $8900.
