@@The_UA-cam_Critic yeah we had a good time. I got a little lazy at one point and he got double sleeves and hit a text book arm drag to cross leg trip🤙🏻
I keep seeing your comments on bjj/judo vids and at 0:59 I immediately said to myself - "wait isn't that the youtube comment guy with the great hair?" - lo and behold
That was awesome to watch. That last guy's lasso guard seemed like a pain in the ass to pass! Lasso is the most frustrating guard to deal with for me. It was cool to see the ways you dealt with it.
Marky Coleman not really about age, more so experience level because a 5th Dan will have at least 10 years experience as a blackbelt over a brand new blackbelt. Trust me, it makes a huge difference many times.
That leg pummel at 3:22 is sweet! That looked like a ploy to let him think he had half guard and then to bring in the leg to pummel over the calf for the pass.- It has been noted and will be used in my next class.
Man I love Jiu Jitsu. You get to compete at the same places and events your heroes do, and everyone is always very humble and down to earth. I can't even put to words how awesome the whole thing is, so just go do it lol you'll be thankful in a couple years. (If you last two years, 80% chance you'll last a lifetime.)
3:21 I loved that left leg windshield wiper, ha, I probably would have resigned to go into half guard with a guy putting up that must resistance to the pass.
When you do it it looks so easy-ish it were hard battles but damn you are good brother. Congrats on your epic victories they are a pleasure to watch 👍🏻🤙🙏
I recently started training BJJ because of your videos. Thank you for the inspiration! Btw could you please make a video on some submissions from closed guard for beginners? I find that I often get in closed guard and I can hold it pretty well, other beginners usually have a very hard time getting out of it. But from there I often don’t really know what to do besides maybe a triangle if I have the opportunity.
A thousand people are on utube talking about how much Jiu-Jitsu they know.Teaching this teaching that you should do this, dont do that and then theres Chew! Who talks the talk and walks the walk.Nice job brother.
Passing machine. My passing was horsesh*t for years until i started repping over/under style. Don’t get me wrong it’s not great yet but getting there. Inspiring video
Same problem here man, I'm only 5'5" and 112 pounds, but have no problem taking people down regardless of their size or strength, the problem would be passing their guard. I take them down and they just sweep me after my attempt on passing their guard.
Henrique Freire Lima Here he is playing the same lasso guard on me in Atlanta Open weight. Tough dude and super nice🤙🏻 ua-cam.com/video/9MXZyPIqgUU/v-deo.html
Chewy, how much would you say your wrestling background helps your Jiujitsu? Would you be as good as you are today say if you didnt have a wrestling background?
Here is one of my students Steven showing it from a cross collar, while Chewy used the arm drag. My guys gave me a hard time getting takedown by that technique since we do it a lot at LA. No room for error in Blackbelt Super Heavyweight, those are some strong technical guys🤙🏻 ua-cam.com/video/aIeofUhZMrM/v-deo.html I believe if you go through Chewy's playlist he has showed it in the past as well
Always thought holding guard and burning legs out was a worse decision that transitioning to open guard to delaheva etc. (sorry about Spelling) does that change at a high lvl or have I been taught wrong? Happened in 2 matches when you stood and exploded out of guard.
Hey I have a question, what do you eat though out a normal week, what times for you eat and also what do you eat leading up to a tournament and how do u train for a tournament?
Great matches, hope we get to do it again sometime 🤙🏻
I was about to ask if that was you! Looked like a good battle on the feet.

Yes! I was thinking the exact same
He was really fast small dude fighting absolute. Respect.
Amazing, you're a beast Chewy!
3:30 the classic taint grip. Very powerful.
You think Chewi smelled his finger by accident or on purpose after????
@@BENDOVER-he1hq bro?
Great to see your technique working at the highest level... Makes me an even bigger fan.
Passing them gaurds like a god damn steam roller...👀 You're a monster bro!
This reminds me of like when you first make blackbelt and suddenly find yourself competing against that 40 yr old 5th degree blackbelt.

Great rolling! Would love to see more of you rolling in comps
Damn that was cool to watch Chewie
It really is awesome to see you work, Chewy. You can see in your posture and your eyes that you’re already three or four steps ahead

Congrats Chewy! Super fun video to watch.
Awesom guard pass pressure while simultaneously securing the Kimura at the end, very cool!!
You are the most mobile big man that I have ever seen
Still looking super sharp man! 🙏🏻 it’s hard to do after so many years of beating up your body!
Great work Chewy, alot of decent pressure work
Watching how efficient your movements are is inspiring!

Beautiful back take on that first match !
I made it in the video! Congratulations again Chewy! We met briefly at the breakfast place the next day and it caught me by surprise.

Cool to see someone with little ego willing to out themselves out there! Not everyone is willing to do that nowadays. Congrats on your wins!
Rock Rock Rock I’m not needy for the win. If I win great. If I lose, it happens.

Are there videos of Chewy’s MMA matches?
I noticed you like to pass weak side your left leg forward? Nice back take off Kimura lapel trap I will try that out 😁👍
