The investment by the Chinese government into infrastructure and modernisation efforts really paid off. It's not surprising that the rest of the world wants to work with China. The exploitative and chaotic US style government simply doesn't work elsewhere.
Speaking of preserving historical sites and architecture, the Brits & French expeditionary forces pillaged and burnt down the Old Summer Palace (Yuan mingYuan) in 1860, which was a fusion of Western & Eastern architecture. It was 3 times the size of Versailles, took 3 generations of emperors to build, but destroyed thoroughly in 3 days. Also, the reason why not a lot of Caucasian tourist is because the Western Media feeds fear-mongering propaganda to its citizens, to discouraged them from visiting China. Recently, the US advise against its citizen from visiting Xinjiang because they know once people start checking it out for themselves, all the lies and mainstream narrative will be dispelled. These are the same news organization that fed the people lies about the WMD in Iraq or the Gulf of Tonkin incident in Vietnam.
I am from Taiwan and I can't wait to see my province Taiwan return to my motherland China as soon as possible. Once we are unified, we are sure be even stronger in all sectors.
The sooner you can get a majority to support serious negotiations between Taipei authorities and the Beijing government the better it will be for China and for our region.
Hi! here’s your new subscriber from Hong Kong China! I just want to comment that the reason why the lady who helped you guys in the last video at the Chengdu airport said Ailpay can’t work is she was thinking of the TRAFFIC QRCODE inside the Ailpay, you can scan that code when get in the metro gate, and scan it again when you get off at any gate on Chengdu metro map, the system will calculate the price automatically and you don’t need buy a ticket from the machine,(she thought you guys don’t have the code),generally that’s more convenient and environmental-friendly!Hope you enjoy your trip on Chengdu metro !
It’s so amazing how clean this place is. No graffiti and not a spec of garbage on the ground. People are so friendly and respectful. The vendor booths are so organized !! I’m planning my summer vacation right now and must include China. I want to visit Chengdu obviously and will include Xinjiang. I want to see Xinjiang for myself.
Plan your trip very carefully, Xinjiang is HUGE and Urumqi does ONLY represent a tiny bit of Xinjiang. However, the other regions of Xinjiang does not have good enough English-based-infrastructure, so it might be tough for foreigners (some of the elder people don’t even speak mandarin the language barrier is huge even with translating apps), you might wanna check out travel agencies for that. BTW, if you wanna visit Tibet, it is mandatory for foreigners to apply for a permit and join a tourist group but Tibet only, all the other regions are free to travel, well I’m not saying Tibet is not free but restrictions are restrictions lol. Because China is a huge country, it is NOT recommended to travel all the major cities in 2 weeks. If your country is included in those 15-day visa-free countries, I do recommend planning a trip within 1 or 2 provinces, that should give you a decent summer experience. Oh even though ChongQing is only 75 minutes HSR away from Chengdu, I wouldn’t recommend you visiting my hometown during summer, it’s not gonna be summer but a steamer lol😂😂😂

My spouse and I, hello from Taiwan, recently embarked on our inaugural journey to ChengDu a few weeks back, and our encounter and perception mirror yours precisely. The city boasts cleanliness and a refreshing atmosphere owing to the prevalence of electric vehicles, while the populace predominantly opts for the Metro, rendering commuting both accessible and convenient. Traveling feels secure with the visible presence of law enforcement and security personnel in public spaces. The locals exhibit warmth and amiability, evidently relishing their lives. Cherish the remainder of your ChengDu expedition. Rest assured, we eagerly anticipate revisiting ChengDu in the foreseeable future.
you guys can go to chongqing as well, that is a amazing city. Actually, 2nd or 3rd line city of China will bring you different experience. In China, not only Bejing, shanghai, HK. Happy that your guys bring the true China to everyone. China has misleading report by the western media for long.
The Xizang Autonomous Region, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Qinghai Province and Gansu Province are remote areas in China. Although the economy is underdeveloped, you can experience beautiful natural scenery, which is very, very beautiful, not ordinary. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen are major cities in China, where you can feel the charm of modern cities. But I would recommend some second tier cities in China (Dalian, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Tianjin, Wuhan, Changsha, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xiamen, Nanjing, Xi'an). These cities have a profound historical background and each has its own characteristics. For example, in Xi'an, you can witness a lot of history, even historical sites from over 2000 years ago; In Hangzhou and Suzhou, one can appreciate the charm of Chinese classical architecture; In Chongqing and Chengdu, you can enjoy a slow paced life, and hot pot is a specialty here. Of course, there are many beautiful cities in China that are particularly suitable for tourism, such as Guilin, Zhangjiajie, Kunming, Yangzhou I can't count anymore. You will be very safe here, please make sure to enjoy your journey. Blessings from China❤
This is outdated information. Xizhang and Xinjiang have received insane amount of development efforts and tens of billions Usd funding in recent years.

More Than 5000years history…. Such an ancient country behind its history, it is magnificent culture heritage. I don’t think many sort of young countries can understand China…. You are right about how laid back the city is. In fact, this region (Sichuan province) is known for its slow pace leisure lifestyle, Sichuan people are very interesting too, they seems less hardworking and not very serious, but in times of need they can turn themselves into brave and ferocious fighters like how they sacrificed during Japanese invasion, 1 out of 5 soldiers were from the region.

Comparing to other Chinese cities, Chengdu has a very long period of continuous development without big wars or disturbances due to its special landscape. Moreover, it’s humid, warm weather and wide, fertile soil has made it rich from Han dynasty, so it’s generally regarded as one of the richest area in entire China and the richest in the west. About 20 years ago, there were many terrorist attacks in China and many people were killed and injured. Since then, the government began to set up a fixed police box in a lot of places, such as railway stations, famous scenic spots, etc., and then configure some police cars to patrol the streets, which can timely deal with emergencies in any corner of the city, so you can feel that it is very safe on the street.
You're confusing the audience! According to my friend's personal experience, the terrorist attacks that occurred that year were triggered by terrorist organizations supported by the United States! It's organized and premeditated! It's not the same thing as daily safety in China!

You guys have done a great job showing people how important to discover with your own eyes and to explore with your own feet is. Honestly, as a native Chinese who has been quite used to all these pretty common things in almost every Chinese city, I found your discoveries as a mirror, to remind us native Chinese to cherish all of these achievements that the government, together with the hard working people has made. Key advantages you’ll probably find: 1. Absolute safety to walk around even at midnight for a single girl. 2. Countless foods with incredible variety at very affordable, even fairly low price, as long as you are not completely spicy resistant. 3. Overall very friendly locals, with kind curiosity and absolute welcome to foreigners, regardless of their race, cultural backgrounds or religions. 4. Nearly 100% mobile payment and cashless life. Alipay is really enough for you guys. 5. Insanely diversity of local languages, landscapes, building styles and many more. 6. Advanced public transit, especially in Tier 1 cities and all provincial capital cities. High speed rail, metro, electric buses, etc.
The air quality in China is getting better and better and is decently good even in the biggest cities, mainly because a lot of cars now out on the streets are electric, most buildings are using green energy and stuff, China is nowadays very green frindly, or trying to be as much as possible. You know the cars with green plates are actually electric, and the blue plates are fuel. Basically ou have to unlearn everything you have heard about Ch8na in the western media.

Hey Naomi & Luke, Chengdu is my hometown, thanks for showing the reality of Chengdu to the world through your video. I'm so impressed that the things we get-used-to-everyday attract you so much, i mean in a positive way. Chinese people are normally very friendly, like most of the people in the world, we'd love to treat friends with our best hospitalities. I have no idea how the western media usually describe China, but I assume many of the news are not true or in negative ways because of political propaganda. China is not a rising monster that wants to threat the western world, even through with different political system and culture etc. When talking about the government, there is no perfect government in the world i believe, we complain our government as well. However, China is still a developing country, over 9 billion people annual income is less than 2000 US$, maybe less, we have the strong desire and rights to develop the country to increase our lives. But I see the EU and the US try very hard to depress China’s development, and treat China as an enemy. We feel actually shocked and disappointed. Unlike many western countries, China has never invaded other countries proactively in the past hundred years, in the contrast we were been invaded and semi-colonized by other countries. These like scars in our heart, and that's why we wanna be strong enough to prevent being bullied by others again. I hope you have a Great Great trip in China and spread the realities to the world, no matter positive or negative ways, but only the truth.
Welcome to China~~~Thank you for your willingness to promote China. I felt the hostility of Western countries toward China, and I also experienced the dangers of being in New York at night. I am proud to be born in China. It is a beautiful city and I can party with my friends until midnight before going home. I can eat my favorite snacks non-stop in the snack street. The express delivery downstairs at my home is always waiting for me to take it home. Anyway everything is safe. It's amazing here.🥰🥰🥰
Congrats on making an excellent choice! I would say Chengdu is ideal as the first city to visit for Westerners who have never been to China before. The other one is Kumming. Exploring on foot is a great way to see Chengdu. My first trip there was in 2003 and the city has changed and grown up amazingly. My wife is from Chengdu so I have been privileged to watch it develop and blend its history with the 20th century. I was there in March first time since Covid and was amazed by the acceptance and introduction of electric cars. I will be back there in October to spend time with my in laws. For me it’s the people that make Chengdu, they are very friendly, kind and loves meeting people from other countries. Enjoy your trip and find out the truth that western governments don’t want anyone to see
To be balanced, it WAS (past tense) true that many or most medium and large Chinese cities had serious air, soil and water pollution in the past due to the unprecedented rapid economic growth which, unfortunately, was deemed a 'necessary evil' to pull the massive population out of abstract poverty. However, around 15 to 20 years ago, the national mindset began to change as the various type of pollution got so serious that there was a real possibility that the natural and urban environment might become permanently damaged if nothing was done to reverse the situation. So, the central government began to embark on painful but necessary economic reforms to upgrade the manufacturing processes, innovate new industries, and promote eco-tourism aggressively among other poverty alleviation measures to tackle the pollution. Hence, the unbelievable usage of electric vehicles and affordable public transport that you pointed out several times in your video today. Oh, even the widespread use of electronic payment (cashless) can be seen as a measure to fight pollution since it greatly reduces the amount of cotton and other resources needed to print paper currency which, you can imagine, is a LOT since China has 1.4 Billion plus people (almost 20% of world's population). However, as you pointed out, western mainstream media is so arrogant and deceitful that it simply refuses to acknowledge the rapid improvement of China's natural and urban environment. In fact, the Chinese often jokingly use "BBC filter" to refer to the common practice of western media to smear China - for eg, even though the fact is that a video or picture of a particular location shows clear blue skies on everyone's screens, western media like the BBC would depict the SAME location with a grey and gloomy filter or angle. I also laughed out loudly in the earlier part of the video when you pointed out correctly that the loudest source of noise was a lady and not the busy traffic, haha. If you are impressed with Chengdu's (FYI, only a Tier 2 City by Chinese standards) infrastructure, wait till you visit the 4 Tier 1 cities (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai). Nice video. Hope you have also explored one of the world's largest building which is the New Century Global Center in Chendu. Do exercise common sense and usual safety precautions even though China is indeed overall one of the world's safest countries.
Did you guys just arrived in China from SE Asia?if so no matter where you go in China You'll feel relaxed even cities like Shanghai would feel very calming and good infrastructures, cleanliness are standardised in China in cities or countryside, big or small.
他们害怕民众来到中国,因为中国有他们罪恶的真相。
The USA is a backwards place for the world, it only knows how to generate chaos...
Us and Western politicians fear tourists visiting Xinjiang for fear their lies will be exposed.
你才是了解真相的!

Hi! here’s your new subscriber from Hong Kong China!

Those areas are not underdeveloped, just not as developed as eastern cities.

If you have access to alipay, why not rent those shared bikes? I think those yellow colored ones are good to go, and very affordable, like us$0.20 a ride.

It’s cool to ride bike after walking
Alipay only supports green bicycles. Fortunately, yellow and green are the same on the streets.

Enjoy your trip and find out the truth that western governments don’t want anyone to see
Cars with green plates are EVs, those with blue are ICEs (internal combustion engines).
你是了解中国的,经济飞速发展的时候确实牺牲了很多自然环境,后来越来越重视“绿水青山”的重要性后,全国都开始了修复和保护自然环境,所以以后的中国会越来越好!
Did you guys just arrived in China from SE Asia?if so no matter where you go in China You'll feel relaxed even cities like Shanghai would feel very calming and good infrastructures, cleanliness are standardised in China in cities or countryside, big or small.
