Amazing a car tuned to inspire pure confidence! A driver with the skill and experience to utilize every trade in the book and with such gusta I want to see the whole race now. I LOVE IT
Scene cuts at 4:14 and 4:58 mean it should be: "How To Pass 15 Cars In 3 or 4 Laps at Sebring" But aside from view grubbing by the poster on UA-cam, the driver was a badass, serious skill involved there, especially at segment at 4:14
Jake Schrier See, i was thinking the same thing.. and that the dash looks too cheap to be that new. But i'm still clueless, anyway, bad-ass driver though.
I'm also wondering that.. I saw an MX-5 (The POV car is also an MX-5) Genesis coupe, and a Cayman before not looking at other cars and watching the driver. Lightness and power? Or maybe they're equally powered. SOMEONE ANSWER (*Q#YR(YQ
regulation wise im not too sure but when it comes down to it lap times are all very close in this series. the cars in the back are bit slower though and like said in the description this car qualified on pole. the miatas completely looses the other cars in the straights but the corner entry and exit speed is so fast it gives a massive advantage. and on a tight and twisty circuit like sebring, when the miata is hooked up and the set up is spot on, the cars cant be stopped, and that really shows here and in that whole race
qualified first and the teams other car qualified 3rd. both cars sent to the back of the grid on a BS technical regulation. They both Charged up to 2nd and 3rd after about 45 minutes. it was unbelievable
It wasn't just that he wanted a push. He was just asking for the BMW to cooperate with him and work together. He looked like he was faster than the BMW, so if the BMW got in front, he'd only hold him up, and if they fought back and forth for position, they'd both loose gobs of time. If they just worked together, the BMW would get a tow on the straights, would push the MX-5, and the'd both make better progress than if they had a short sighted battle for position. You see hand signals like that a lot if you watch spec miata onboards, cuz the cars are so slow and the draft is so significant, they can pop out of line for random passes almost at will, but they gain significant time by working together, just like how you see drivers stay together in packs in a NASCAR super speedway race.
Dan Perez Skip Barber explains it all in his book "Going Faster" - fascinating reading for fans and essential if you're taking to the track yourself! I have to say I never knew drafting makes the front car travel faster until I studied that book!
That was some awesome racing man! ! ! That (NC) has some crazy entry speed...What's your secret to pulling out more entry speed than the car already provides?
Very nice. I just finished watching the broadcast from this. That #3 Miata at the beginning of this video took a wicked hit in that race. How's Mark doing?
not to take away from the driver's skills or competitive aggression, but there's a fine line between asshat and hero. there's some spots that certainly could have ended badly, particularly charging hard into a braking zone you know is full of the conga line.
I feel like I need to put censor bars on my speakers because of the engine note. I feel that 4th gear is a bit too tall, especially in the early and middle part of the video with the battles against the Caymans.
It's more to stop things getting inside the car rather than things inside the car getting outside. All drivers know to curl up as much as possible in a crash to protect themselves.
THAT WAS THE DIFFERENCE between some fast guys, with a racing driver, dominating his car and late braking ! absolutely amazing job..and also stick shift and no straight speed ! give him an imsa car now !
So awesome to see a lightweight car absolutely destory the "heavy" BMW's and Porsche's under breaking.
+broomsterm Someone doesn't know shit about cars.
Love the hand jesters such a good driving style
Late braking like a boss.
EXACTLY NO MORE WORDS !
I'm not going to get enough of this one. Outstanding!
Brake late, shift right and grow a substantial set of balls.
Amazing a car tuned to inspire pure confidence! A driver with the skill and experience to utilize every trade in the book and with such gusta I want to see the whole race now. I LOVE IT
Great clean driving. Class act. So much goes on behind the scenes to get a car/driver setup to work well.
can't wait to go back to Sebring
damn, serious skill, balls and trust in his car there, I'd never be able to do that :)
Me neither. And not for lack of trying ;)
Ok we need one more dislike from one of the drivers, got 14 so far
That's good. There's 18 now, so their wives must be getting into it.
That's a perfect example of a car with not much go, owning because of its perfect amount of Whoa!. Really good driving sir
Wow that was intense. Great job there Racer.
Awesome view, especially with the rear view mirror... All in all good & tight clean racing....
Triggers my puls!
Need 100% focus. Racing is kinda meditation as you cannot think of anything else.
That was Superb driving & very exciting to watch from inside!
someone has good brakes.
Scene cuts at 4:14 and 4:58 mean it should be: "How To Pass 15 Cars In 3 or 4 Laps at Sebring" But aside from view grubbing by the poster on UA-cam, the driver was a badass, serious skill involved there, especially at segment at 4:14
Now thats what I call driving with aggressive precision! Great job!
Great work and clean driving from the field.
Awesome driving!
Thanks for the how to. I'm going to go buy a car and do this right now
That was sick! Downshifting at the apex while braking is nutz! Miss the rpms and everything would go wrong
That is a work of art! Well done!!
I could watch that all day that was awesome!
hands done,what a control and big B
I wonder if he's still running the BP engine.
Sounds like it.. it's a pretty solid motor,
I had a beast of an Escort GT with one.
wouldn't be a BP, thats an NC miata so odds are its the mzr block
Now that sounds like fun. How was that fab work?
Forced Name
None needed.
Just change the motor mounts around.
The EGT has the Mazda 1.8 BP engine already.
That most likely is a bp. Judging by the mirrors and dash I'd say na or nb. Nc's are too fat stock.
Jake Schrier
See, i was thinking the same thing.. and that the dash looks too cheap to be that new.
But i'm still clueless, anyway, bad-ass driver though.
How do they performance balance these cars? I can't believe how many different types are all in the mix
Mark LeeMaoShengHiNoon Yes, weight and power. Power can be degreased, weight can be added, I believe, that everything is written in regulations.. :)
Mark LeeMaoShengHiNoon Take notice that many of the cars are pulling away on the straights, but the MX-5 quickly reels them in the corners.
regulation wise im not too sure but when it comes down to it lap times are all very close in this series. the cars in the back are bit slower though and like said in the description this car qualified on pole. the miatas completely looses the other cars in the straights but the corner entry and exit speed is so fast it gives a massive advantage. and on a tight and twisty circuit like sebring, when the miata is hooked up and the set up is spot on, the cars cant be stopped, and that really shows here and in that whole race
Adam Newberg
Agreed in full.
Did he even turn up to qualifying? lol. And those flat 6 cayman's sounds aarrgggghhh
Yeah, the new F1 cars could learn something here ;)
I believe he had pole by about a second then had a technical issue which made him start from the back of the grid. Hard charger award FTW!
qualified first and the teams other car qualified 3rd. both cars sent to the back of the grid on a BS technical regulation. They both Charged up to 2nd and 3rd after about 45 minutes. it was unbelievable
Threading the needle like a Boss!
very nice, I see he is running the two position throttle...on and off
Love the late braking in some of those corners!
I love how he waves the black Honda around him on the back straight and just thinks, 'No matter I'll get him and three others in 17'
You can really tell how the lighter weight of the MX-5 helps the car in every way.
Good job man, few guys don't belong there !
Few ? Hahahahahah , 60%
'round the outside, 'round the outside!
Outstanding!
hit those corners like a boss
Respect. Awesome in car sound too :)
That was some niiice driving! What was the hand signal near the end???
He wanted some help getting the MX5 moving like the Caymans…..
(He was asking for a push…)
It wasn't just that he wanted a push. He was just asking for the BMW to cooperate with him and work together. He looked like he was faster than the BMW, so if the BMW got in front, he'd only hold him up, and if they fought back and forth for position, they'd both loose gobs of time. Christopher Modiano
Cheers! I thought it might be asking them to work together, but never seen it signalled like that before.
Christopher Modiano Wow... been a racing fan and car enthusiast for a long time and I never knew that.
Dan Perez
Skip Barber explains it all in his book "Going Faster" - fascinating reading for fans and essential if you're taking to the track yourself! I have to say I never knew drafting makes the front car travel faster until I studied that book!
All these guys are doing it with little or no aero is amazing to me
Very good, BRAVISSIMO! Happy 2024👍
Go Stevan, CJ Wilson Racing and (}) Miata MX-5!!! This is so fun to watch. Congratulations
Mon Dieu, il est magnifique!
Amélie Renoncule ! Weeeeeee
Aggressive but fantastic driving !
Bimmers and Porsches oh my, look at that little mx5 fly by :D
A small car with tons of grip and brake can drive pretty much anywhere on the race track. Awesome driving!
That was some awesome racing man! ! !
That (NC) has some crazy entry speed...What's your secret to pulling out more entry speed than the car already provides?
Skills!
MIATA ALL DAY! I'm on my 3rd and I LOVE THESE CARS!
PURE CLASS
AWHSOME driving. love the late braking and setting up for the next corners
What a driving!
nice driving
Dang son. Fearless. Late braking like a pro.
this... was ... awesome...
Very nice. I just finished watching the broadcast from this. That #3 Miata at the beginning of this video took a wicked hit in that race. How's Mark doing?
Fantástico!
Aw! at 4:13 he ate the turn! is there footage of that?!
Guy knows the track, knows his racecraft, knows his car, and probably knows most of the guys he's racing against. It's drivers who are fast, not cars.
not to take away from the driver's skills or competitive aggression, but there's a fine line between asshat and hero. there's some spots that certainly could have ended badly, particularly charging hard into a braking zone you know is full of the conga line.

Was he waving at Foss/Mosing ?
That appeared to be a good course for the MX-5's
So the answer to how to..... great braking!! good job.
This video is better then SRT's sales numbers
Seems like it was all in the breaking zone - wow
I've always wondered why they have the nets there? is it to stop his arms hitting things in a roll?
Yes
It's more to stop things getting inside the car rather than things inside the car getting outside. All drivers know to curl up as much as possible in a crash to protect themselves.
Amazing Driver.
4:53 what does this sign means ?
But the Caymans sound that sound chills
It bothers me that i counted more than 1 lap
and 30 cars?
I can do that! In a video game may be.
iRacing! With the MX-5!
wow every pass he made was 100% committed
wow .. i though i was sitting in the car
got the weight adv. but withstanding out-braking the competition and navigating through traffic on corner#17 aint easy.
anyone know where to find the full vid?
I used to think all MX-5 owners were gay until I saw this video! He is an absolute beast!
Well the real question is, why would you have anything against gays?
Wes Craig he prefers the d in the p to the d in the b
Wes Craig Just making a joke, mate! Don't get butthurt!
Me as well, no offense taken.
Amazing!
I want a Miata to race. Hats off to the driver
I can seriously see this dude just screaming "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY WAYYYYY! BYAAAAAGH! IM A MIATA!!!!!"
As for this car, the durability of the tire looks good, too
kick-ass shifting aswel
the mirror show reminds me of succession
Before I saw this video, I was just thinking about how few passing opportunities there are at Sebring.
Mother of Sounds :D 4:00
Now....that's driving!
how much does it cost to run this class?
15 dislikes, 15 drivers passed
My Dream
THAT WAS THE DIFFERENCE between some fast guys, with a racing driver, dominating his car and late braking ! absolutely amazing job..and also stick shift and no straight speed ! give him an imsa car now !
Its like me going HAM in GT5
The weird part is that I watched this car on a Motor Trend video!
he does it like playing Grand Turismo :P
Bisous, Jambon driving!
It look like I'm playing in game NFS \m/
i have a better question :)
How can i be a racer ?
cool video
Looks like he had it set on easy!
When you are trying to rush thru the boring races on GT to get to the faster series 😂😂😂
Like a boss
I so want a miata project car.
Thanks...tips
