On February 22nd, we lost a valuable, four-legged team member of the Lubbock Police Department. K9 Bobo served with the department for eight years in criminal apprehension and narcotics.
We'll let his handler, Officer Zalman, tell you the story of his amazing partner.

Bobo spent nearly every day of his life doing what he loved, with a partner he loved and who loved him. He didn't have to suffer through a long debilitating illness and he passed away knowing he was loved. Can't get any better than that!! RIP Bobo
If a dog is going to die forever I never understood the need to hasten eternity.

When Officer Zalman’s voice broke, my heart broke for him and his family that cared for Officer K9 Bobo…… My eyes welled up as soon as I started listening to Officer Zalman describing K9 Bobo’s last days….. 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
A noble being, indeed; K9 Bobo is now in heaven playing tugs with all the other K9 Goodest Boys…. 🙏🙏🙏😎😎

@@pattyslater514 I avoid watching anything K9-related, whether it be tributes, End-of-Watch clips, and awards for them just because I know that a part of me is lost along with their handlers’ and those who loved those beloved K9s….. actually, my heart shatters each time I even catch a glimpse of the title….Life is not fair that we get to lose or see someone lose the best thing God has given us: dogs.

So very sorry for ur loss. I can hear how much he meant to you. Belgian malinois do that to u. Get into ones heart and soul.. i really feel ur loss. Totally devastating- i cant imagine my life without my boy.. did the vets establish what the cause was.. putting ones animal down.is one of the most difficult decisions and ones last act of love.. quality of life is critical- must think.of ones animal and not be selfish.. hang in.there, remember all the good memories.. nice looking dog.. ❤😢

You can see the kindness and love in the officer's eyes. With the average dog lifespan, no matter how long his K-9 partner would have lived it would always be too short. It's so hard to loose them.
Hearing this officer who people assume must be very strong with his voice cracking hurts my heart! I’m glad he was so kind!
Its true Bobo K9 loyalty is so precious .how can we pay back all the loyalty of BoBo and all those precious dogs . I pray thst God will always protect them and angels guide and surround themselves around all these intelligent K9 dogs .

So sorry for your loss. Letting go of the “keeper of unconditional love” is incredibly hard. Take solace that you made the best decision so that he didn’t have to suffer for long. Peace to you and your family - home, work, and social circle. So Bobo was a ‘leg’ man. Very wise choice - most criminals prefer running away compared to rolling on the ground!

I live at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It’s a resort beach very mild very calm nothing nothing serious going on like I said it’s a resort beach, but it’s very fascinating to watch the K9 dogs.

Doesn't matter if the dog is a work partner or family pet, they get under your skin, I to your heart and it hurts when their time comes, no matter when that is. I feel for you. I was never a handler. I laid tracks and dogs would track me. We used to set up gun fire training with them. I was the range master and chief accident investigator. God bless you my friend!
I‘m sorry for your loss - from what you are telling he was an awesome dog. They are so damn tough and willing to please, that it is hard to say, if they might have a health problem and then it hits you out of the blue. You did right thing by going the hard way and not let him suffer. You will see him again - one day - at least that’s what helps me dealing with my loss.
