Certainly had me crying. What a wonderful world it can be with humans that without a second thought bring a lonely sweet old dog into their home to make those last days the best ever, this is real unconditional love from both sides.

Thank you for saying this Patsy. My dog departed more than a year ago and I’m still very sad about it. She was 2 months short of 18 years old, and had fought so hard to stay alive as her health started deteriorating. The vets thought she wouldn’t make it 3 years prior. My family and I loved her so very much and miss her tremendously. I am comforted to think that she had fought hard to live because of her purpose - to love and be loved

Just spend as much time with your baby and take pictures and video and give them treats and someday you'll be together, but in the meantime at least you know and you can save plenty of memories because some of us find out when it's too late. My chihuahua Cashew, one day what's found on the laundry room floor, when I took her to the emergency vet, she ended up dying from kidney failure😢

I have pictures of my sweet dog everywhere, and I keep some of his hair in my wallet. Though he's not with me physically, I often feel his love and his presence. I swear that he has brought puppy love into my life by the way other dogs act with me.
Before he passed, I made impressions of his feet. I have them around the house. I will always love him.

Victoria, I can prove there are dogs in Heaven! I died in 2008 (twice) and I saw a dog in Heaven! I asked my Mama, who was showing me around, where my kitty who had recently died was. Mama replied that she was living at her house, waiting for me to come and stay. That was when I knew I wasn't going to stay and I was, in fact, sent back a few moments later.
So take heart! Our fur babies are there, waiting for us, living with people who love them until it is our turn to make the crossing!

Damn. Leaky eyes! I'm sat with my older dog (12 soon) in August he'll be a year cancer free after a major operation. You have to appreciate every day.

Love is keeping her alive! She has purpose AND Love! I had a dog, who passed away from Diabetes at 12. He was sick for 2 years and the Vet said she didn’t know how he stayed alive so long, but it must have been our love and care that kept him going! I lost my black lab years ago but I still miss her. She was just the sweetest girl and knew when I needed a cuddle or space. She was a very goofy girl. Our dogs(and other pets) always have a place in our hearts.

Thank you for giving this beautiful girl such a loving home. I cried watching this, I lost my 16 year old rescue last year. The vets gave him 2 weeks to live when he was 14 but he enjoyed life for another 2!

Thank you for this. We just lost our senior rescue chihuahua last week. Soon after we brought her home at age 11, we found out she had a cancerous tumor. We decided to only do meds and not surgery. We had 3 1/2 joy filled years with her!!! And will be forever grateful that she entered our lives!!! Folks, don't be afraid to adopt older pets, the joys outweigh the sadness!!
