Just about 43 here. I'm about the same age as MTV and don't know a world where these songs didn't exist. lol And I'm with you. These days it's hard to find new songs that mean a damn to you. You'd think it'd be easier with new wave and new jack sounds being in vogue again.

I am 65 now. I will be 66 September 14th. If I happen to live that long. Because every day is a gift now. I started crying the other day when I thought about my age because I had absolutely no idea that I would live this long.
Especially when I consider the life that I led, for 30 years. Like so many men of my generation, regardless, if they became wealthy or not, so many of them became either drug addicts or alcoholics.
And all you have to do to know this is look around you. And also look at the leading musicians of my generation. The vast majority of them that are still alive, are no longer doing drugs or drinking…
      Because,
they would be dead like so many, of our generation. And all anyone has to do to know this, is simply start doing some googling. Of well-known musicians from the baby boom generation, that are dead.
So many of us not only sober up or cleaned up, and we became Christians because there’s nowhere else to go. No place else to go and thank God for that.
When I think of all the years that I drank so hard, and the disease that I got from it, in my feet, it truly is a miracle that I am still alive. When I was supposed to be dead 💀, ABSOLUTELY- DEAD ☠️ , 3 different times. 3 Different times.
Oh thank you Lord that I am still alive because you keep me alive because without you, I would have been dead absolutely did my last time drinking. My last time.

Amen bro, he left us way too young. The only issue I have with this video is so many simply irresistible women wearing those ugly ass, nasty smelling NYLONS, AKA "Grannyhose". The 70's called and want their fashion back. Thank GOD nylons went out of style in the early 80's and have NEVER made a return, outside of fetish fantasy. Real women don't wear those ugly, unfashionable things. #bare legs #bare feet

Well to be honest, I grew up in that generation and this was a pretty sexist video even for that time. But a lot of music back in the 80s was generally pretty sexist if you look at a lot of the hair band music. At the same time there was just something fun about van Halen videos and such. Nobody really took themselves that seriously so it was possible to enjoy the music even though you eye rolled at the videos. And then came Nirvana, singing about eating peoples cancer, yuck. Unfortunately, killed the good-time buzz.

So, my work just had a holiday party with an 80's theme. I bought a tight, black, scoop neck mini dress for $10 on Amazon, got some wide orange ribbon from Joann fabrics, slicked back my hair, troweled on the makeup and went as one of these fierce ladies!
The guy in charge of the music did NOT play this song. I confronted him about it (just said, "Hey, are we going to hear any Robert Palmer tonight?"), and he was still baffled the next Monday as to why the hell he didn't have it in his playlist.
