- In this video Larry continues his series of reacting to UK law enforcement doing their jobs and gives his opinions and insights on it from an American perspective. He enjoys these very much and appreciates you all tuning in! As an American reacts to UK Police Chase fanatic at this point, it's awesome to continue to find great clips of these episodes to react to.
EDIT** There is a space in this video that was cut after being uploaded to avoid a detected copyright strike, I'm not sure why it was flagged but if you notice it during the first encounter with the woman driver, there was a few extra minutes there of her being very flagrant verbally and non compliant that has been removed. Sorry for any confusion that may have caused.

In no way will I claim that UK police are perfect, but, our police seem to be better trained at de-escalation than US police.
I think its more to do with the fact that:The PACE ACT 1984 exists & because of the CPS Act of 1986.
If you’ve seen The Sweeney (From the 70s:-) John Thaws character:DI Jack Regan, hits first & asks questions later on.
Regan was like the British version of:Dirty Harry & Frank Serpico.
Britains moved on & refined policing & British police-training: was more militarised too.
Basic-training was as tough as the armies:at one time.
Minimum-force didn’t come along (Mandatorily-enforced:-)until,the late 80s & the rest of the progressive-stuff happened in the:90s & 2000s.
Jep 👍❤👋🇩🇰
British Police do go to police college where the get a degree in Police Procedure which takes four years.
@@MarineAqua45 The Sweeney was a Fiction programme and condemned by Police at the time. As for 'Minimum Force' that was basic priciple of English Law since the earliest days of the Police Force, and codified by the Criminla Law Act 1967. Sec 3.
In the US de-escalation is guns and screaming and overwhelming force and violence. Plus perjury.

The police were showing more care and consideration for her children than she was.

As a Brit, our police can be very nice but won't hesitate to use force when needed ❤
As a Brit I can confirm this. I saw a neighbour thrown into a panda car so hard, he almost popped out on the other side 😂
I have had many good experiences with UK cops, and one mot so good, which I was absolutely asking for. Even then, they were professional, but just not taking my crap.
Can’t say I have had the best experience being mistaken as mixed raced most times, but have had a good experience when needed.
Yeah just stop oil is a prime example of that...
Yeah like when someone sends a mean Tweet, they’re all over that.
Despite the few bad bad apples in our police force I am so proud of our police. They are a good laugh, they're kind and considerate and respectful Not out to prove how tough they are they are just there to make sure people are safe.

“A few bad apples”?? The Met Police alone are currently reviewing 1,600 incidents of domestic or s3xual abuse reported against serving officers.

Americans have grown up with their god awful policing culture though.
They're not judge and jury, they're supposed to be the professionals in the equation and should behave as such.
Poorly trained, equally poor attitudes.

@@MostlyPennyCat I refer you to my first (the correct) comment!
It's especially important when there are kids involved that the police are extra non-threatening yet still firm.

I've broken UK laws many times. Mostly got caught. I'm so grateful that our cops are respectful and unarmed.
Some are armed and will be there very quickly if needed. We don't have a completely unarmed police force, that's an outdated myth.

Wow I would have lost it with that woman for sure.. she certainly knew how to try and play the system. I hope she was prosecuted to the fullest extent...Sad for the children yes, but just perhaps they will have learned from this that Drink Driving is NOT acceptable.. no matter the circumstance

Most of them think they know how to play the system & the police meet them all daily and have heard it all before. No point retaliating, peace and negotiation gets the best results.
That woman was foreign they know how soft the "Police" are and take full advantage especially the Middle Eastern people Muslims are the worst they have zero respect for anything and hide behind their "religion" half the stuff the say is part of the Muslim religion is lies nowhere in the quaran does it say women need to wear the hijab or the burkas for example they are actually Shira law, Tailban, Isis and Hamas rules not actually part of the Muslim faith.

Yes, your finger print will only show up if there is a reason for it to be in the national database. If you haven't been fingerprinted before you won't show up, its more for police to see if you're on their records and potentially if you're wanted for something. It's faster to check that way than radioing back to the station with a name and date of birth.
Police in the UK are also trained to try and deescelate. Rarely will a UK police officer start screaming and swearing the way US police officers seem to unless someone is threatening their safety or resisting arrest. Its stops as many people getting harmed, whether that be members of the public or officers themselves. As the guy said, theyre still human beings. That being said there are just as many cops that seem to abuse their power across here, but they wouldn't put that on TV 😅
Dude, I've seen American cops go through all the BS of making drunk drives, walk a straight line, touch their nose, and whatever else. Spending god knows how long just to get them to do these tests.
Here, you ever do the breath test. If not, get nicked. Simple.
Then you are defo getting charged for drink driving.
Take the test, and maybe you're under, and the old bill won't get the ass with you, cos not cooperating, doesn't help your case, and you're catching more charges.
People like that woman really get on my tits. Drink driving is bad enough but with kids in the car! She's not a fit and proper person to be in change of children, they should be put in care before she kills them, then lock her up.
“Get on my tits” had me cracking up! 🤣
That only counts if you have been arrested, not just in jail. When you’re arrested they add you into the police database.
it's highly unethical for the police to keep peoples biometric data just for being arrested. Being charged then yes it should be kept, whilst you're being investigated but only stored for a long period if you've been convicted.
Why not. If you've nothing to hide etc.Ever heard of getting off on a technicality.
also certain immigration visas that need biometric residency permits, that said, there are rules governing deletion of prints in all these cases (for example if you were a permanent resident with a biometric residency permit and you naturalize to become a full British citizen). Even in case of arrest they often do not remain on file forever.
I had my prints taken in '69 and, as far as I know, they're still on the police database. It doesn't bother me one iota.
Most European doccuments nowdays include your biometric data like your finger print. Therefore those are all in the archives the police has acces to.
I have family in Scandinavia. I’m not up to date on the laws there, but I believe, it used to be a mandatory prison sentence if found driving with any alcohol in your system. The limit is zero. The police in the UK are usually a decent bunch, and will treat you with respect IF you’re okay with them. As you said, we need the police. I’d hate to do their job. Yes, there are bad police officers, there are racist officers, but they’re few and far between. It’s certainly not a racist institution. Police officers are human, so if 10% of humans are racist, then you’d expect 10% of the police to be racist too. They were especially kind to the Asian woman, and she was very disrespectful. That city has a very high Asian population, and there have been race riots there before, so the police are very often called racist there, but those guys didn’t have a racist bone in their body. Not sure about the UK but in Portugal, when you get your ID card you also register your fingerprint so its always on record. Unlike the US, where you don't have a standard form of ID, most of Europe has national IDs. They are pretty useful too, our ID for example holds pretty much all of the information you could ever need, from your address or healthcare info to Social Security and tax numbers.
No compulsory I.D. in the U.K.
Police only have finger prints if you've been arrested in the UK.
Yeah I don’t know if I like that.. 🤔🤔
@@JustAverageLarry Don't worry, our privacy laws are about as strict as my grandma seeing a girl wear a sleeveless shirt. Anything part of your biology is considered medical data and the police force could get fined hundreds of thousands if they misuse any data, and even taking a picture of your ID without your consent can be prosecuted. Our police can't even knock at your door at night unless you're into human trafficking or other messed up shit, the Secret Services got in trouble a few months ago and our government was almost fired because they called a citizen at midnight to get a laptop from him, and I believe the police can't actually access the database unless you did something really bad but I'm not sure about that part. Now, having laws alone obviously doesn't prevent abuses from happening, otherwise we wouldn't have any crime, but anything could happen from you having your trial dismissed to taking your literal country to an EU court and sue them for breaking the privacy regulations.
In Portugal this is a throwback to the old Bilhete de Identidade, where a fingerprint was justified due to crap technology. These days, althouh useful, there's less justification for it and comes across as overreach.

As someone who was born in the UK and has had the chance to live in both Countries (I was in Texas for a year) I find a lot of comments comparing the US with the UK police very unfairly. The best way I can compare the 2 is cost and effect. We pay £1,542,073.00 per officer per year on average with a crime rate every year of 75.88 Crimes per 1000 people per year. In the US you spend £149,406.00 Per officer per year with a crime rate of 41.29 Crimes per 1000 people per year. This means that UK police are over 10 times more expensive for less effect. I get the US police come across as more brutal to a lot of brits but they are achieving a better job with a lot less money.
That’s a smart way to look at it.. and then add in we have way more people.. with guns.. 😭
@JustAverageLarry The guns thing I don't see as an issue. It's one of 2 extremes. You either allow your citizens to defend themselves and risk the consequences or you render your citizens incapable of defending themselves. The problem with the latter is that it takes so long for the police to respond that by the time they get there, you may already be dead. In the UK we aren't allowed any recourse for defensive weapons, even pepper spray is illegal to own.
@@liamtaylor93 no I agree with that. I just means it does make the job of an officer here a bit more dangerous and dicey knowing any and everyone could be armed.

Yes, the police national computer only contains the information for people who have already committed a crime and after that crime has been deemed spent you can apply to have that information removed and they must legally comply.

They don't carry guns. They do have a weapon but you rarely see it used. They have training to try not to let it get that far
I don't know if you have seen a TPAC (Tactical Pursuit and containment) as opposed to the US Pit manoeuvre. Plenty on UK's channel 5 Police Interceptors.
You will notice that the police did not automatically reach for their guns. I can't see this happening in the US.
They don't have any guns to reach for
exactly, that is the problem in the US and they can't understand why they have a gun culture.@@crptpyr
We don’t wonder lol we fully understand.
They arrested a student who decided to spray stuff due to stop oil protest and they parked in front of my office. I told one I bet if we have a race I will be faster than you....just because he had a little belly....yes they are nice - he old me I don't know but bet I will win...my former flatmate who is still a friend trained to be a cop but quit after 2 months....he did not like being outdoor in the cold....
Oi. Lol❤ how to call someone.
The woman with the children has clearly been caught drinking before. She’s got the delay thing we’ll arranged.
Thankyou Larry.
Driving over the limit, whilst disqualified and with a car full of children?! That's horrendous.
Absolutely it is!
Nice looking bunch of policemen!!😊
Agreed!
Yes there is no finger print recognition
12:43 if he went to a max security prison he'd probably come out addicted to hard drugs instead
Damn they are smuggling them in like that?
In recent years news story's of all sorts from prison staff smuggling or even relations with prisoners, and the police not getting let off, police were robbing drug dealers and re selling the drugs back on making millions£. that is the tip iceberg on corruption the police are not to be trusted rec any interaction maybe a claim if they abuse your rights. seen footage cop lied saying guy was speeding dash cam gps show he was not it only looked it because speed bumps, he refused to exit his car as he has every right to leave or not to (exit or not car) window was smashed he was dragged out, that hit uk news papers the guy sued ended up with about £30k. from 2016-2019 uk police the ones who willing to give out info regarding freedom of information request so another tip of an iceberg as so many did not give info out but the ones what did £21 million paid out for unlawful arrest, abuse power, kid nap (false arrest and taken to station) can be as copper threatening arrest for not giving name i seen footage for that was £1500 from the cops. list can go on and on, if you can rec with out them realizing even better like from your dash cam if they not noticed it so if you get bad cop you can comply allow then to abuse rights sue later. like the case the guy getting window smashed and dragged out the guy dose not even need to speak to cops the law states that you must show your documents license and proof of insurance key word show he could put them up to window to show cops that all he required to do, anything else cops need reasonable suspicion. one other cases most know about, people allowed abuse young girls by Muslim / Asian old men for a very long time, 1000's girls effected by police refusing to police, not the worst story ive heard but was at chicken fry shop and police were called in the back house mainly of mostly undressed Muslim men and underage girl who was drunk or drugged guess what the girl was the only one charged for being to drunk. i have more trust crossing big highway blindfolded than the police these days, standards have fallen and trust levels at all time low, it be generations to build that trust back if that even possible. if im not driving i not going to comply they get nothing, driving careful how you answer as things can easy get twisted so even if it stated you victim you might get screwed too, driving they get the legal requirements and extra questions answered very careful but it all be rec on two dash cams with sound but i never tell them cameras it up to them to spot them and in public you can rec who you want, but if using phone to rec you better make sure you parked in a safe place to park engine off and keys out as even holding your phone while in some control of car 6 point's and only 12 to start with and a fine @@JustAverageLarry
If he did get a prison sentence as a non violent offender he'd go straight to an open prison. And yes there are drugs everywhere but no one is going to force them on him.
Not all finger prints are registered, only if you have been arrested
A person I met from Ireland mentioned about how the police over there will (at times) catch you, and beat you and beat you and beat you, and let you go, while English/British police will pretend to be your friend and hope to send you down for 10 years.
I'd recommend reacting Police Code Zero: Officer Under Attack | It's a bit graphic but shows what happens when a Police Constable presses their Emergency Button (Panic Button) and the story behind it.
I could check it out but.. the UA-cam algorithm doesn’t really like “graphic” things too often
Give it a watch personally and its too much to burr then scrap the idea.@@JustAverageLarry
In my country (South Africa), all people 16 years or older have to get a state ID, and they take your prints. Certain places can access this through fingerprints, like banks - it confirms identity. Never been pulled over (don't drive), and my parents haven't been for a long time, so I don't know if cops have access like that.
I’m on the fence to whether I like this or not.. it seems convenient at times.. but also kind of invasive
@@JustAverageLarry well, it's access to ID info, so name, date of birth, ID number, and a picture. Banks won't know anything beyond this from Home Affairs (govt dept who handles IDs).
There's corruption, yes, but govt is so incompetent that a hacker might fix more things than steal info.
There are rules and restrictions, for example you need to be present when this database is accessed.
The bank won't get my internet history. I truly don't understand the US fear that your government wants an eye in your house.
In the US people seem intimidated by the by the police and address them as "Sir". In the UK we *never* call a police officer "Sir". But most people respect the police.
I would agree.. I definitely do refer to them as sir or mam when I speak to them. But I was also in the military where we did the same so I’m just used to it being a respect thing for authority.
tests for drink driving in the UK are easier, from what i have seen, your police make them do certain tests, once police suspect you're over the limit, they give you the breathalyser
Yeah I think a lot of that is for show on tv.. I’ve never been made to do the stupid walks.. they just gave me a breathalyzer every time. And I never failed one!
One thing I don't understand about the law regarding drunk drivers.
If the drunk is refusing to give a breathalyser sample, why are they not given the same consequences as someone driving 3 times over the limit?
@robertstallard7836 thank you. Do they hand out harsher punishment based on how far over the limit or is it just over is over one size fits all punishment.
With the fingerprint device I suspect they recognised her so went for the prints.
Whatever rubbish that woman is going through in her life, she has no right to kill her own children for a drink. No sympathy, she should be charged with attempted murder/manslaughter.
I’m inclined to agree
You have to show intent for attempted murder, and manslaughter has to have a dead person who died indirectly as a result of someone's actions.
The most likely charges she could face would be child negligence/endangerment and the kids removed from the home.
This is the UK so the laws will be different than in the US
And she has no right to kill my or anyone else's kids by drink-driving.
If she was charged with attempted murder, she'd walk free laughing.
Average Larry really puts the emphasis on ‘average’, mate.
😂😂 aye, you gotta know who you are.
so an hour and a half after being stopped this entitled, self-righteous and disruptive female is still more than twice the limit. I wonder what she was when stopped?
Right!!
in the UK the police handcuff you depending on how you speak to them, so if you are nice and just comply they will handcuff to the front but if you're resisting and being rude and anti-social they cuff you to the back...
