It all depends on the reason for the stealing.
Nothing is ever black and white, it's always grey.
I joined a bike gang at 15, they would steal anything that didn't move! I didn't, I don't steal it lie. I will ruin Christmas over but being able to lie, I'm 53 today and my children, all 4 have great jobs and education. I left school with nothing at 15.
Managed to claw my way up and out, but got a lot of dead friends and forever in prison today, that's the female friends.
The men, yeah some of them still drunk on street corners abusing girls and selling their drugs.
Cannabis is basically legal in Scotland today, for my medical use. 🤣
Not like the old Reagan days!
I was taught if it is weed you're fine, it's not addictive unless you smoke it by the barrel load.
I stopped at 17 years old as fell pregnant and ran away from the gangs 🤣 my life is a total disastrous childhood and if my mother didn't love me, I know I would be dead today.
She's nearly my best friend now.
I hate liars, thieves and bullies, but I try not to judge them before I know why they're done something.
Some of the kids just need serious mental health help.
The worse think I ever did was move back to my family home, London.
Yes, it was great fun and the parties etc. But the people? You don't make real friends, I dragged two of my sons back up to the Highlands of Scotland after they cleaned the police worse up here and got rid of most the corrupt cops 😳 grampian was bad in the 80s and 90s.
Why I left and lived worldwide.
      Stay safe and educate. 👋

A bit is a mouthpiece that is used to control a horse's movements. “the bit between his teeth” is a horse related expression. Horses wear bridles with a “bit” that goes in the mouth, if they bolt they can throw the bit out somewhat and it goes a’ between the teeth” enabling them to be out of control of the rider. It's amazing that we can still catch criminals when every encounter doesn't turn into a wild-west blood-bath, isn't it?
This is why guns are so heavily regulated in the UK. There is a myth that "if you make gun ownership a crime, then only criminals will own guns," but the reality is, they don't. They don't actually want to die, so if they know the cops chasing them aren't armed, then why should they be? UK criminals know that rocking a firearm will result in absolutely lethal force being deployed and nobody giving a damn when it does, so for the most part they don't bother.

There was a rash of motorcycles grabbing peoples phones , jewelry , bags ,etc hurting them in the process and because they were in built up areas , not wearing helmets , police were unable to pursue them and it became a major problem because it was an easy crime , usually on stolen scooters too , but now they changed the law so they can chase you and knock you off your bike , funny how theres a lot less of it now, if you gove plice the right powers and they dont abuse it then the rest of us are a lot safer

Just to put some background, basically the police were allowed to ram them off the bikes years ago, but some were killed (tough luck) and then you had the parents and friends crying on the TV about how he was a good lad, and was misunderstood and was in the process of not stealing motorbikes and how evil people were for wanting them knocked off (you get the idea), so the police were not allowed to tap them when they were not wearing helmets, so knowing this the little turds stole peoples bikes for other crimes and for handlers to ship them off to other countries where they will get lost forever, and if your a biker, then your know what your bike means to you.
Crime got so bad and people were getting angrier about these little that the police were eventually allowed to knock them off again (specialist drivers).
The bike thieves are horrid little....they have stabbed people for their bikes, and bike jacked people with threat of violence, as well as using them to move drugs, they deserve everything they get being knocked off the stolen bikes.

The "Mace" isn't MACE at all, it's DNA tagging spray.
Police "Mace" (formerly CS, now using PAVA) is stored in a small canister attached to the kit belt on the waist. This large bottle used to spray the rider is DNA tagging. Basically invisible ink dye that under UV light shows up. Means if he happens to get away and gets later arrested for an unrelated matter at custody under a UV light the dye will show up on his helmet and clothing, linking him to this pursuit.

“Bit between his teeth” is a horse riding reference, the bit is the part of reins that goes in the horses mouth and is used to control its movements. The saying is referring to a horse that has taken control of the rider by biting down and refusing to allow its head to be moved by the reins. So in essence the saying means to be determined and forceful in pursuit of your goal.

"bit between teeth" refers to the "bit" that would be placed in the mouth of a horse.
The reins are attached to this "bit" and pull it side to side. A horse that was overeager or fighting against the rider would bite against the bit and wrestle with it while the rider tugs the reins - though the saying is usually used to mean 'determined' and 'up for a good challenge' rather than 'rebellious' or anything like that.
So the police officer was determined and up for a challenge when he made a U-Turn and chased after the suspect, as a horse chomping at a bit between its teeth might be.

    • @mortisrat
      @mortisrat Рік тому

It actually means eager to get going / anticipating eagerly. It comes from the way horses worry at their bits as they're waiting for a race to start.
An example would be 'chomping at the bit to get an ice cream' - meaning you were eager to go, particularly if you'd had to wait. It does not signify whether the thing being waited for has an element of challenge.

The spray was not CS spray, it's called Smart Water.
It's a identifiable invisible water spray, that does not wash off and can only be seen under ultra violet lighting.
It's like a DNA water spray each can is unique and has it's own code, so if the rider did get away, the police can prove that he was sprayed in that incident.
It's on his jacket and trousers or any skin that it lands on, put your jacket in the washing machine, it's still on the jacket, jump in the shower, it's still on you.

"Bit between his teeth" when riding a horse you want it far enough back that it's almost on their gums so it's uncomfortable and they turn their head. If they get it between their teeth, they won't respond to the reigns, and typically can now go hell for leather.
