For me, my ED was (amongst many other reasons) a way to numb my emotions. I'd actually feel a bit dissociated and "floaty", so that became a major coping mechanism for stress and anxiety. Thanks for the video, guys! 🤗
I can relate to the revenge side but usually with other forms of self h4rm not ED stuff. Although again punishing someone without them ever finding out ...
i really loved this video, ive struggled with eating disorders a lot in the past (and still sometimes do to this day) and i never even realized how it couldve been connected to my bpd, but watching this video helped me realize how deeply disordered eating really does connect to borderline. i hope both xannie and celine know how much sharing their experiences impacted me in a positive way
I would love to hear about how everyone deals with body image issues. I find that one way my bp shows up is in fierce hatred of the way my body looks. Now, I'm 42, and have looked this way for AWHILE, and I'm also not bad looking for my age. BUT when I'm having a moment I find that it can really devolve fast, and then THAT depression and self-loathing can linger for weeks. It can be debilitating, interfering with my life and my romantic relationship. Tips? Can anyone else relate?
We talked about body image a little in our Season 4 episodes on ED! ua-cam.com/video/Sami8SMn4b8/v-deo.htmlsi=4rcDuVcHOIEnb7E7 ua-cam.com/video/WwmtJYH4weo/v-deo.htmlsi=6btoN47l89wzEYaK
“Your clothes are supposed to fit your body - not the other way around.” Love that.
