I like what Xannie mentioned about feeling cold when her emotions got to be overwhelming. I like to joke and call that "turning my humanity off" like in The Vampire Diaries or The Originals tv series. Lol
Bill Dauterive having “quiet (inward) BPD” is the fan theory hill I will die on. I identified with Bill for a long time even before my diagnosis… I’d say him and Sarah Lynn from Bojack Horseman are the characters I identify with the most personally. I’ve used them to explain my symptoms to friends and family who didn’t know much about BPD. I even got a shirt made up with Bill’s line of “I’m so depressed I can’t even blink” that I wore on particularly low days. I’ve also shown a lot of people the scenes with Sarah Lynn when she has her identity crisis freakout and when she very nonchalantly explains that she knows she’s gonna do dangerous impulsive things, numb herself with drugs and obsessive relationships, and eventually die tragically young to explain particularly extreme emotions I was experiencing.
Why do people never seem to mention Daisy. I think Daisy definitely portrayed BPD perfectly. In the book it seemed like Lisa had BPD but in the movie she came off as Antisocial/sociopathic. I think Winona (Susanna) was more quiet BPD.
What’s your take on Fiona Gallagher? Effy from Skins, Villanelle (please don’t make me name the show) Rachel from UnReal. Btw, I dig the law & order Elliot and Olivia shirt. I was just officially diagnosed with bpd…so I’m coming to terms with it. I’m glad there’s a group out there that discusses it who aren’t doctors. My shrink suggested I watch my crazy ex-girlfriend, can’t cos I don’t have Netflix…but I do love musicals. My brother suggested Euphoria. I’d love to watch more portrayals of bpd. For instance, faith in BTVS…she was severely damaged, but they never honed in on a diagnosis…cos it wouldn’t coincide with the plot. So, she’s just a “rogue” slayer. What about Jenny or Shane in the L Word. Ingrid Goes West, even black bear (depending on which view point)
If you love musicals, you’ll love the Bollywood movie Tamasha (2015) by Imtiaz Ali. My jaw dropped by the end of the film realising how accurately they had portrayed the disorder and shown the journey of identity integration. Definitely a ray of hope that brings back the Christmasy feel good emotions.
Wow! So far only one male BPD character portrayed in Hollywood that too so violent and unrealistic 😅 If anyone knows a film with a male protagonist with BPD except for Ved from Tamasha, please do share.
Yeah, most of the male characters that are thought of as having BPD are not officially diagnosed in the story, but every one that I can think of is pretty violent. Ex - Anakin Skywalker is thought of by a lot of people as having BPD. 😱
Please do a video about ASPD and Pychopathy. I'm diagnosed with ASPD and other things and we are not all Pycho freaks Pychopathy isn't not fun to have It's not just the person with BPD that suffers. In fact, the definition of psychopath means the suffering soul.

GIA was a great depiction
Please read the book for Prozac Nation. It's based off of Elizabeth Wurtzel's life. She definitely was diagnosed with it.

I'm trying to find a movie with Sally Fields lives with mother mom passes. Meets an office co-worker who helps her change her mind sit about life.
Would it be possible to list the names of each movie what your group is chatting about?
Yep, it’s all in the caption by the timestamps!
Cool.

I’ve never considered Fiona having it, but I can see that now that you’ve mentioned it.
I also could see Jenny from the L word having it.
I always related to Effy most. I truly think she has BPD. In the show it officially is psychotic depression
