In terms of rhythm arrangement, cinematography, and soundtrack, it's the best pilgrimage arrangement I've ever seen, overflowing with passion that spills off the screen. It makes me want to join this pilgrimage too.❤❤❤
I went to those exact locations as you in june, specifically the day of the Agatha festival in the show. Unfortunately there was no festival going on, but it was still such a surreal experience to sit on that bench. The water was still running too high during my visit, so i had to watch back and forth Uji bridge a few times
Thanks for this video, my man. Eupho is my favorite show, anime, animated, or not. I hope I can visit one day and I'll have your video in my favorites as a guide. If I don't make it there, I'll rewatch it. ❤
Wow, what an awesome video. So well put together, you can absolutely feel how much passion you have for this anime and city!! I LOVE when people have such a specific and personal love for something niche. I have always had Sound Euphonium on my list of anime to watch, but after this video I will definitely have to watch it soon. I am going to Japan for the second time in two weeks, and will be staying in Kyoto for the first time! Looking forward to it even more now, thanks for the great video man!
i cried... i cried so much as a girl who plays euphonium in my wind orchestra this is soo beautiful I am in love with this show soo much. ❤🥹 And your video is incredible!
Thank you for this amazing experience. I finished binging up to the recent S3 episode. Hitting your 30s sucks when you choose a non-music related major, All my middle and high school life was dedicated to orchestra, marching band and drumline. The brutal 7AM to 9PM schedules to bottom frag at competition, but so worth the time and memories when you occasionally get high percussion awards. But it's ok. I am able to fund piano lessons thanks to my career. 😂
I am facing this reality. I am currently an undergrad into my third year for Accounting after having to pick this major over a music major as this was my only shot at saving the most University/College costs (Music schools in my area lacked so few financial options that I felt long-term it would ruin me financially). I realize I am still young enough to pursue music throughout my 20's but it feels so daunting with little to no time available to dedicate to music like I once did during high school.
@@georgethemonkeydrummer5598 Honestly, depends on your goals. I realize I have no aspirations for anything competitive or professional anymore. That died when I decided for Supply Chain Mgmt and started managing my family's CNC machine shop. For piano, I only set personal goals, and maybe some extra certificate of merit to provide me that sense of motivation. My instructor grinds the 5AM to 9PM working a normal job while teaching after work and practicing at midnight, and doing gigs for church and what not. The man is a beast at Saxophone, Piano and guitar. Nothing is impossible, just takes time. I hope you find something that makes you happy. 😊😊
Hey Andre. I just wanted to let you know that i really appreciate you making this video. With me having my first trip ever to japan booked, I've marked all the spots you mentioned in your video and will be spending either a full or half day in uji once i am in kyoto! I am a huge Sound euphonium fan, and this is a very well put together video. I just wanted to let you know that i appreciate the effort gone into this, and i want you to know it has helped me a lot out when planning my japan itinerary.
I just finished all of Sound Euphonium a couple weeks back to prepare for the next season and this video is truly a diamond in the rough! Thank you for this love letter to the anime!
Only watched about five minutes of it, but already convinced this is going to make a great video to relax to on a saturday night. I'm also in love with Hibike, and Liz and the Blue Bird is my favorite movie of all time. Big thanks for sharing this, will definitely check out the other vids on your channel.
oh man you hit almost all the locations I want to visit from the show. I plan to do something similar to this in the distant future after a few more years to save up for this.
That was outstanding! I watched the whole video at a time. You did a really great job, telling us about the story of Uji-city and places from anime. Indeed, Hibike! Euphonium is the best anime of the whole time. Thank you!
Thank you for this! I'm going to Japan for the first time with my parents in November. We're staying 5 days in Kyoto. Hearing about Kyoto being overcrowded in certain areas got me a bit worried that we wouldn't enjoy the places we visit as much. With season 3 airing now, it triggered me to look into Uji more. You've inspired me to make the decision to spend a day here instead! Uji looks so relaxed compared to the popular areas in Kyoto.
Really neat vid! It's always pretty cool to see the actual locations and KyoAni's dedication to being realistic. Was a fun watch and maybe will plan something like this in the future
You really did a great job man! I love this video and the composition. I've seen another one about Eupho locations but that wasn't that good or interesting, you on the other hand nailed it! You kept it interesting and mixed it well. The explanation about anime pilgrimage was really good and I really appreciate it, some of it was news to me, especially the terminology. Thanks! As a KT-fan I couldn't ignore that you "missed" the "Rikka High School" when you were in the Neighborhood. 😉 That would have been a bonus. If you have the opportunity you should do a video like this about K-On! too! You can visit the High School and other locations around the place connected to it as well and as a K-On fan this is what I personally will do next time I go to Japan. And I will definitely visit Uji as well! Thanks again for a great video about one of my favorite shows.
I appreciate the compliments on the video! I'll definitely have to look into Kyoto Tachibana high school before I go to Uji again. I actually didn't realize that they were the model for Rikka High School until now. And thanks for the K-On recommendation! It'd be an absolute dream for me to do another video like this again someday!
This was absolutely perfect, thank you so much. Loved seeing so much detail on how to get to each spot with all the little things you can find at each one. Seriously felt your passion and love for Euhpo. I'll definitely use your vid when planning out my trip there!! thanks!!
This video hit my recommended a few days after season 3 finished airing. With Eupho being so fresh in my mind, hearing the music and seeing some of the locations made me emotional. Great video and I love the passion you have for the series!
I am really looking forward to visiting uji next year once I graduate from university haha, without doubt uji will be my first choice of my debut tour aboard. Small city as it may look like, it's worthy of experiencing such surreal scenes. Your video can be of a great reference!
Very enjoyable and relaxing video. I'm going to Japan next month and am really looking forward to visiting Uji to see some of the locations you showcased here. Thanks for sharing your journeys!
this video is absolutely beautiful. The editing to the music chosen is incredible. I chose the euphonium not knowing what it was but simply because i liked the name. When i was beginning to learn, i found sound euphonium and fell in love immediately. Thank you for this video!
Ook! [Thanks for finding out where Kumiko is taking a train from school. While i knew the school exterior was modeled from Todoh Senior High, i always suspected that the school band is actually modeled after the Orange Devils - Tachibana Senior High. One thing is that the old office of KyoAni (one that got arsoned in 2019) is just located at the back of the school and second - Tachibana SHS is close to the Rokujizo station, although not the closest. So things make sense. Perhaps that's the station KyoAni employees actually took home from work. Also, if i am not mistaken, i saw footage of Tachibana march on Ujibanshi-dori. The 2016 march. That would again make sense.]
Hello! My family is planning to take a trip to the Kansai region and with Hibike! 3 out now and my love for Hibike! at an all time high right now, I'm so excited and saving your video to refer to as I try to do my own pilgrimage around Uji.
Yo epic video, I'm thinking of doing a trip just like yours! Do you mind sharing roughly how long it took for you to hit all those spots (starting from the travel from Kyoto station)?
I actually anticipated this exact question, so I put the time of day on screen at various points throughout the entire video (like each time I arrived at a station). Pay attention to the bottom right corner of the screen!

Thanks for noticing haha
Shout-out to all the Kyoto Tachibana SHS Band fans!
Yes? You rang? ✌😁
