Okey, So I just started my hair journey 1 month ago with my low porosity hair after so many research and believe me I’m so impressed... let me drop my routine :) 1. I pree-poo my hair with warm water and flaxseed oil 2. wash my hair with Hawain silk shampoo and conditioner (my hair genuinely accepts it🙂) 3. I deep condition my hair with Mega hair growth deep condition and I add honey and almond oil ( great moisture) 4.still on the deep condition in my hair, I sit under a dryer for my cuticles to open so the moisture can get into my hair(very important: deep condition with heat) 5.I wash the deep condition out and let my hair damp before using my moisturizers which are my tcb naturals leave-in conditioner and olive oil 6. which is the last step, and most important...PROTECTIVE STYLING ... this really helped my hair retain moisture and length... NB: My washday is every two weeks.
Basically it’s detangling your hair before you wash it because washing before day tangling your hair can cause lots of breakage. Most people use oils to detangle but anything that helps detangle it is fine. It also helps protect your hair before u wash it too 😃

Jamaican Black Castor Oil is very good for sealing moisture. You don't want sealant oils to penetrate the hair anyways. Olive Oil and Coconut Oil are penetrating/moisturizing oils.
I just started my natural hair journey. But i feel my hair doesn't like olive oil. It doesn't soften my hair or anything. It just sits there and gets all over my bonnet.. I think i will try coconut oil next BTW. Thanks for this video
Before u try any oil check what porosity your hair by take a strand of hair place is it in a bowl of water if it sinks your high, if it floats your low porosity, if it stays in the middle then your mid porosity. Then research oils good for your hair characteristics

Hey Sis thanks for the tips, am with you when you on prepooing hair, coz am also in the low porosity category. So there’s a lot of good hair products out there, but I decided to use DIY so I would love to share with you some that are working for me. It’s fenugreek oil and leave in spray, tea rinse, rosemary leave in spray/tea rinse, aloe Vera juice leave in. Since Shea butter is also too heavy on my low density, low porosity hair so I always whip it with fenugreek oil + rosehip(any oil of your choice) using it as a sealant. You are right when you mentioned that we need to understand our own hair first, coz that’s what has given me results. I am happy to share my tip sis. Try it and you won’t regret, the soft hair will be normality. So this is what I can share, am also learning.

I've been natural for a few years & experienced extremely dry tangled hair. I learned that coconut oil when it's melted it's thin but if you notice coconut oil it is solid at room temperature. It leaves a coating on low porosity hair and that blocks out moisture and it's hard to get out of your hair you have to shampoo it out to get to remove it from your strands. If it sinks I think its high porosity then, not low. Low porosity is when the hair floats to the top of the water. high is when it sinks down
High porosity-but make sure you wait for the full 15 mins because my hair sunk immediately, then slowly floated back up and remained floating.
