Gawd I want to wheel NM! Props to the driver of the silver xj, he really know how to follow spotter instructions. You boys ever get up to the PNW you know who to call.
That place is an awesome playground. 👍
Normally I would say xj's are where it's at but that wj did realy realy well
That Silver XJ is Da Bomb!!!
Thank you! Subscribe to the channel and follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see a lot more of that jeep.
Badass love me some xjs
Look at those lockers go!
Jeep es Jeep!
GREAT GREAT GREAT!! keep it high...!!!
Looks like you guys have a fun area.
We are fortunate to have a few decent spots right outside of town to go wheel. The southwest in general has some amazing wheeling areas to explore. Where are you from?
That spotter is sub par
Great lookin jeeps, but I’d try to air down a lil more
We already go down to 10psi. Kinda difficult to go much lower without bead locks.
I am in the market for new shocks and you can’t beat the price on Rusty’s Offroad shocks whats your opinion of them? I see the Silver XJ is running them. I’m in SoCal and play in the rocks but also like to try and go Baja style with my Toyota buddy’s, how are they at faster stuff? I have Bilstein but there to soft for the go fast stuff.
We thought they where a bit on the stiff end for strictly crawling, they will work though. The rx200 and rx300 is designed for high speed driving such as jeep speed and other forms of desert racing. That being said if it's roughly half of what you do it could be right up your alley, just be sure you bump stop properly. We took them out and switched to the RX900 it's much less aggressive and bridges the gap between high speed shock and just mild off road shock. The RX900 is better for us as all we do is crawl. That jeep doesn't see over 25mph unless it's on prevent, it normally gets put in low range not long after hitting dirt and staying there until we are back to pavement.
I would subscribe doesn’t seem like you doing anymore videos
It's been a rough little while but this summer we will be pushing videos back out again. Just gotta finish up some projects so we can get back after it.
Bajale al pinche psi por eso mismo revento la llanta
I live in nm also we should all get togeather some time look us up on face book at se new mexico 4 wheel drive club
Where are you located in SE NM? I live here in Roswell. I would love to hit some trails!
Does that grand Cherokee have solid axles? Or is it the stock independent suspension
It had tons in it, I think a 60 and 14 bolt but I don't remember to be honest.
SW Active Explorers I’m looking to get a jeep but am trying to understand which ones are better suited for crawling
Straight axle all day. A wrangler is ultimately the best starting platform. It has straight axles and a real frame. The XJ is cheaper and has straight axles but they aren't as good as some wrangler axles and the XJ has a unibody and those suck. If you get really into it you may grow to hate the unibody. If your not gonna go crazy and XJ may be just fine.
And I’m in Utah so before I move I plan on going to Moab and the Unitahs
What lockers do you guys use
The gray XJ had a Detroit rear and an Eaton E locker in the front. The orange JK has factory Rubicon lockers. I don't recall what the others had.
What wheels are on that wj I really like them
SW Active Explorers which model and is it a 15” rim? They look sweet.
What tires are on the WJ?
@@SWActiveExplorers I think the WJ had the Clayton long arm. Were the tires the regular ProComp MT2 or the Super Sticky?
Didn't using a 40" on the WJ severely limit compression travel?
I had thought the WJ suspension was a homemade setup but to be honest I'm not sure. It had the regular MT2 on it as it was also daily driven at the time. Yea that thing had very little up travel but a bunch of droop. The front hydraulic bump stops where only a half inch away from contacting at ride height so even just regular on road driving it would making a claping noise whenever the bump stop would touch the stike pad. The thing did really well off road though.
Babystuff
Nice video but it seems like people are drinking and driving. If its unsafe on road its even more unsafe doing this!!! And the last thing someone needs is some one 4 beers in spotting them. And you folks seem to think its funny! BTW what size tires are on the WJ?
SW Active - Where are you all located? I'm way in the SW but SW none-the-less.
Geez i just cant resist thinking how dumb this is. No regard for safety or the vehicles that you depend on to get back home.
The one that was laid on its side is a trail only rig that was towed out there and is intended for exactly that kind of off roading. The WJ and JK have cages for safety so there is that. In fact all of the rigs featured in this video where built specifically for rock crawling. We also don't rely on these vehicles to get us to work and we know what we are doing so there really isn't much risk at all and we have completely accepted the possibility of damaging the jeeps and are ok with it. Also we are literally across town from home and can simply tow them home if needed.
@@SWActiveExplorers understood. My comment stands, I will even add to it. There is a lack of skill. Ultimately its a team effort any safety measures on your equipment can easily be rendered useless if driver and/or spotter fail. Just like a firearm, ND's happen cause one of the 5 rules were not followed. Just be safe man.
I love still seeing XJ's out on the trails, great video keep them coming.
Thanks for that, we sure enjoy putting them to the test and seeing what they are capable of. They are a great entry level jeep.
