    Glad you enjoyed the experience - it does take some of the hassle away from getting the parking! Looks a nice location, and good to be able to set up and go for a stomp around.

      Yeah it was good mate. I understand some people not liking the concept, but I think it gives another option, especially for people who don't live near the hills and mountains.

      Hey mate. I think it's a good concept, but some won't like the idea of paying to wild camp, which I understand.
      Ha ha, how annoying. It's a cracking spot isn't it? This flipping weather is doing my nut in though. When's it going to improve?! 🤷 I was going to try and get out this weekend, but the weather is looking rubbish again.

      @@trickofthetrail, Thundery showers it says for the weekend, it might come to nothing... If we wait for the weather don't think we'd be camping much😐... I quite enjoyed being up there in the rain for some bizarre reason.... Keep an eye on the forecast could be blazing sunshine by Friday 👍

    Its not for everyone but a great advantage of this style of camping is you can lie in the morning, brew up with no stress of having to rush off. For people who dont live near uplands sounds interesting.
    Ive scouted out my wild camping spots in south Bucks, and am willing to share with anyone local who's interested.

      Coombe Hill, Watlington Hill, and most private of all..... drum roll...my own secret valley and hillside, Shirburn Hill.

      Yes totally agree Lesley. I understand why people are not interested in it, but for me it's just another option and you get to use land that would normally be off limits, in a totally chilled way. No rushing, no stress, get there when you want and pack up when you want, without the fear of people coming along.

    Nice video but please go over farm gates at the hinge end! Will check out some of your other videos.

    Definately an interesting idea, and nice to get all of that space to yourself. Do they have any restrictions on the size of tent etc? like could you bring a massive tent and stay a week?
    And that gate you fell off looked like it was already open 🤣

    • @trickofthetrail
      @trickofthetrail  6 місяців тому

      Each wild space has it's own rules, but I think in general there are no restrictions. Obviously it depends on the type of wild space it is, because some are forests or woodlands, so certain size tents won't be a good idea. You could stay for a week I guess. Maybe if you contacted them you can get a bulk discount. 🤷
      The gate actually had a padlock on it with a combination. I was being a bit lazy. I've been told off in the comments for not using the hinge. 😬

    Sounded nice and peaceful there fella. Maybe not for the purists, but seems like it could be a good introduction for beginners to wild camping, taking some of the worry and hassle out of it.

    • @trickofthetrail
      @trickofthetrail  6 місяців тому

      Yeah not for everyone mate. There's been a few comments questioning why someone would pay to wild camp. Like you say, it's good for first timers, people wanting a more hassle free camp and also feeling safer and not worrying about getting moved on.

    Is it £20 for the year then access to all sites, or do you have to pay to book each site too?

    • @trickofthetrail
      @trickofthetrail  6 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, it's £20 a year to gain access to the directory of wild camping spots and then you pay per site. I think the prices vary from location to location, but in most cases you get the whole place to yourself. In this case it was £20 for the day/night.

      Well funnily enough I was going to see how you felt about joining me to do that location one day. Nice easy walks, brewery and two pubs in the village. Is a lovely area.
      You park not far from the car, behind some gates. Probably about a 5 minute walk. 🤷

    Definitely a bit suspect this setup. They display a map on the website showing potential camping places, but once i signed up, the actual map was very different. No where near as many locations.

    • @CampWildUK
      @CampWildUK 6 місяців тому +1

      Hey 👋🏼 sorry to hear you think it is suspect!
      Let us know any questions & we are here to answer them! Regarding the map, it shows a mixture of Wild Spaces that are online, Wild Spaces that are in the process of being unlocked (which is a roughly 3 week process) & a directory of Wilder Campsites. Wild Spaces are entirely exclusive to CampWild Community & there are currently 152 available to book with nearly 50 more in the pipeline. On average we are unlocking around 3-6 a week for the community.
      Thanks!!

    camping wild and paying for it deafeats the purpose of wild camping to me. Yeah I know, I know, you are by yourself, but when paying 20 a night I want at least have toilets and showers.

      @trickofthetrail  6 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, I know it's not for everyone mate and I understand there might be a fair few people who feel the same.
      However I think it is a nice option for someone who likes the idea of wild camping, away from other people, but struggles with the anxiety of doing it alone or even someone who just wants a chilled out camp without the stresses of getting somewhere remote, etc.
      Thanks so much for watching and commenting mate.

      Yeah, totally understand a lot of wild campers wouldn't. It's not something I would do much, but because I don't live somewhere that makes it easy to wild camp, it is another option for me.

    Wild camping and paying to camp are to completely different things your basing paying to camp on a campsite with no toilets don't call it wild camping

    • @trickofthetrail
      @trickofthetrail  6 місяців тому

      Whilst I agree it's not in the transitional sense wild camping, which you would not pay for. The Camp Wild website states "We are on a mission to unlock previously inaccessible land for wild camping and to grow our awe inspiring network of Wild Spaces".
      It's their Wild Spaces "Wild Camping" service that I am showing here, so I will refer to it as Wild Camping for the sake of the video.
      Thanks so much for watching and commenting. It's much appreciated. 👍

    I’ve wild camped all over Warwickshire & Leicestershire for free mate, that’s 2 of us, according to their prices you’d pay for 2 memberships at £20 annually, then £20 each for 1 night, had a Quick Look and got spammed by the become a member every time I tried to click on something, without even being able to see what they were all about.
    Each to their own, just seems like an overpriced business model to me.

    • @trickofthetrail
      @trickofthetrail  6 місяців тому +2

      Yeah I totally get it's not for everyone mate.
      How do you get on wild camping in Warwickshire? I'd feel very anxious about getting caught. I did it once in woodland, but was constantly worried about someone coming along.

    • @raytaylor4199
      @raytaylor4199 6 місяців тому +1

      @@trickofthetrail We normally camp on the basis of a hike, park up in the small villages overnight & walk about 5-10miles into the surrounding countryside, pitch up around sunset, and leave by 6-7 am back to the car.
      We’ve never been “caught” or told to move on, once your deep into the countryside no one’s about anyway, even if they do see us what’s the worst they can do, tell you to move on.
      Fully understandable that people get anxiety, as long as people don’t leave any mess and leave no trace, I don’t see the issue and I don’t care about being told to move on.
      If it was cheaper on that website it would make sense, completely agree about having to go to the Peak District just to camp overnight, it’s the same hassle for me.

      Hey 👋🏼
      Just to clarify the average fee for a stay in a Wild Space is £15 and a membership (£20 a year) covers everyone in your household.
      CampWild takes no commission at all from the Wild Space Fee, 100% goes to the host.
      Also it is important to note that unlike the more pure form of stealth camping, you have acres to explore privately & with permission & also can turn up early & leave late - completely changing the type of experience you can have whilst wild camping.
      Any other questions, feel free to get in touch!
