In England wild camping is a civil offence, so you wont get arrested but if you're caught by the landowner you might get asked to move along. However, if you refuse to leave, it could be considered aggravated trespass, which is a criminal offence. I've never been asked to move on... This is because I always get there around sunset and set up then are gone around sunrise then no ones going know and generally people don't care. Just be sensible, don't go anywhere too obvious like right next to a path or clearly in the view of someones house Always do a little research on google maps and be prepared to change your spot once you get there if it doesn't feel right (I actually changed spot during this excursion). Also make sure to leave no trace as you don't want to ruin wild camping for everyone else! If you do want to find somewhere to fully legally to wild camp try Dartmoor or Scotland (Brecon beacons and Lake District are also more relaxed on it)!
