i think its pretty cool that, while yes the gacha is how you get that S rank, there's not money locking songs and actual gameplay - even with no energy you could play as much as youd' like.
S-rank with gacha is possible, but it takes a long grind to get there. It took me about 2 and a quarter years for my no gacha account to be able to solo S-rank. Before then I had to rely on co-op to S rank songs. However, I could have gotten a solo s rank team way earlier than I actually did had I made that my immediate goal. I level up decorations evenly between all characters, so if I had focused just on one team comp to be as strong as possible I probably could’ve gotten there in like 1.5 years or maybe even less.
When I first started playing sekai the energy meter scared me but figuring out it was actually just a multiplier and not a play limit was such a relief

I always do co-op at pro rooms (you forgot to mention mostly pro rooms gets S) because at S ranks on each songs, you'll get more crystals! So even if I'm not in mood to fc, I still get crystals by playing online on pro rooms. General rooms usually gets lower score..
S rank starts on day 1. Beginner accounts can farm crystals EXTREMELY fast, and if you hold onto them and use them strategically, you can get good cards fairly early. I got my team to the point where I S rank every song in the game after a few months, maybe 5ish or so. What I did was gather a team of 5 four stars with good score boosting skills ASAP. Then I laser focused on those members until they were as maxed out as possible. Once the 5 are locked in, don't switch them out once you've started investing in them. It definitely helped that the anniversary came around and I got a lot of duplicate four stars, so I probably got mastery ranks faster than I otherwise would have. Basically just pump all of your resources into your five chosen cards. Raise their mastery and skill ranks (I actually skipped the skill ranks). Buy all their stamps. Buy their decorations and read their side stories. Do their birthday gachas when possible to get them in the green room. This has been my strategy and I'm now at the point where I can S rank every easy song in the game (actually way harder than expert or master) and I only have 2/3 of a year on this account. And I've never spent a penny! It's possible!

I HIGHLY suggest looking into score boosts, they really help. Also for the mastery thing, only max out 1-3 star cards. While 4 stars still get u the character ranks, aside from hairstyles, they won’t help much. Watch the stories and use ur wish pieces wisely. Anyway, that’s all the tips I’d recommend.
I remember fighting for my life to get a B tier on Roki. Never worked and I used skill lvl 4 score ups. Didn’t realize talent mattered as much as it did
Not just about team but some songs have the higher score multiplier than the other, some are lower For example, Hitorinbo Envy has a freaking high multiplier that my score went straight to 1m2 while I only get about 1m on other songs That why I usually play it for challenge show, especially when I unlock a new character challenge
To get s rank easily, you should have 210k talent and play on expert or master, because the more notes = more score because of more notes for one skill Also for challenge shows, use acc ups or score ups
6:40 but if you wanna grind crystal for gacha, you should pray for the song you never play + haven’t unlocked lol. That’s a free real estate if you fc the unowned song.
My biggest issue with co-op is it takes so long Couple minutes to get enough people and select a song/find rivals in the event weeks, play through the song, then like a minute to get out of the song, before repeating. But, a useful fact for those that might not be aware, if you're gonna do co-op, do three shows. It gives you some extra points towards the monthly reward pass, so it can be quite helpful for getting closer to completion on that if you're playing free
I'm someone that can't stand non rhythm game elements in my rhythm games, so take this as an immense compliment: You're doing something incredibly special here man, if you can satisfy this curmudgeon's "morbid" curiosity lol
my tldr for s ranking is fairly simple. have a 4 star main team, level them max to level 60, skill mastery all of them to level 1 at least. read all of their side stories. skill up them to level 2 min. focus on a main band or atribute. level that atribute or sekai area item to at least level 8-9. tier for lots of events and to get crystals for gacha. to get more crystals for gacha, play challenge show with ur strongest characters that has at least 3 4* in a team, get a full combo on expert. that gurantees u a lot of crystals. the other way is to read event stories, farm for crystals via full combos on expert. it doesn't matter if u get an S or an A because you're tryna get more crystals. otherwise, events are really good for crystal farming as well as the show missions, if you try to fc as much as you can. you get show pts which you can collect via main screen. character ranks help as well! if i'm missing anything or said something wrong, feel free to correct me. this is all based on personal experience and my years of playing mobile rhythm games since 2017
This is just so much to keep track of, especially if you're not playing on the English version. It just feels bloated and overcomplicated for no real reason.
You don't really have to worry about it. If you play the game a decent amount, it's not gonna be that hard to pull off. Plus this is really just kind of a bonus thing. Rank doesn't really show much, except for how much talent your group has.
Usually I get about 940000 with a FC and my total is about 180k. I get a A with a FC and a high B with some mistakes. But, if I get a super fever I always get a S.
If you manage to pull a duplicate 4* from the gacha, they can be traded in for the bigger wish pieces, essentially equalling 2000 wish pieces ! (Still not worth for 1mastery imo)

@@clover-il7tfi can give short little overview -mastery : the little numbers that go up to 5, that gives more talent + if u have a limited 4 star mastery 2 unlocks it, which what people typically go for because anything past mastery level 2 isn’t worth the cost unless you REALLY like the costume variant -skill up : ups the skills (ex life recovery, score up, accuracy) this does exactly as it says, for example a bday card which gives like +800 life recovery with no skill ups, if you make ur skill on that card go from 1 to 2 now the cards gives +850 life recovery - practice : gives more talent and once it’s a certain lvl it lets you be able to upgrade it -upgrade : make card looks pretty, and give talent i guesss…. sorry if my words are confusing
Actually achive this is very easy, you just need to invest into 5 specific cards of different characters ( 1 4* card per character), upgrate decorations, level up rank Or 1 character for challenge show only ( my fav char Rui has the total of 278k ) yea and I'm a f2p player.

This is why hitorinbo envy is the most played song for event farmers! See, for some odd reason, the way score bonuses count is first ur team, the type of note u hit (example don't take literally is 0.1 for trace/hold note, 1 for normal tap/flick, 2 for golden tap, and 3 for golden flick), & is then controlled by the length of the song, plus the amount of notes in said song, & obviously your overall accuracy counts too & for the score easy < normal < hard < expert < master. Hitorinbo Envy is the SHORTEST song in proseka, which makes up for the abyssmal 589 (i think) notes for master, & is then helped by the real nice amount of golden notes in the song, & for accuracy as it's also one of the easiest songs, your combo bonus (forgot to mention that ur combo gies your score slight numerical bonuses depending on duration of said combo)- TL;DR what I'm tryna say is Hitorinbo Envy due to the way it was charted and the way the game works, gives the highest score boost at the least amount of skill/effort possible, in a short time too, obviously your team's power number must be high enough to achieve your circumstance, but overall the games mechanics & Hitorino Envy's chart is why you S rank Hitorinbo but not other songs, it ok I'm f2p & if you jsut keep playing & pulling you'll get there! :D hope this helps

Leveling up characters rank also gives bonus score, for example. if ur Haruka is rank 60 u will get a 6% bonus, for every rank the bonus grows by 0.1%
This is very late but the bonus caps at 5%, so a rank 60 haruka would be 5% bonus instead
