Great for newbies, my first and go to tools are dax studio and tabular editor always! Sometimes feel they should not be integrated as external tools rather embed them as addins within power bi (like Excel add-in), so that power BI folks need not have to ask IT for a separate installation. Thank you and keep up the great work 👍
Very user friendly tool and clean GUI, nice work indeed. Especially I like the multiselect on measures when formating DAX, I can format all of them at once, very nice!
When I heard “open source” I went into full-on fanboy mode :3 great job guys, you’re absolutely amazing! Hope I can help you & the community with testing, at least to some extent!
Truly Awesome! It is really inspiring to live all this evolution of Power BI and how much SQLBI has contributed and contributes to the democratization of the tool.
This is a really fantastic tool! Export Data function works great. It's useful to see which DAX formulas are not formatted and it's quick to format them and see non-formatted and formatted code side by side. I just couldn't figure out how to apply formatted code to the model instead of copying and pasting. Analyze Model gives also valuable information. Dates function is also great along with its DAX code for those who prefer DAX over M code.
I still cant figure out how to apply the formatted DAX measures. Do I have to manually copy and paste it back in my PBI file? Or is there an "Apply" button that I am not aware of?
This is going to help new users to Power BI so much, two businesses spring to mind immediately. Will test and play. Exciting and wondering what's the second tool....
@@SQLBI we have a lot of fairly new SSAS developers so thought the Date table generation and measures looked especially useful . At the moment we have to lift and shift the JSON for our date tables across to new models . Thought this might be a nice way of avoiding that .
Seems like a really useful tool! would this also be applicable to an Analysis services model? would be really useful to find columns etc. that slow down the performance of our model
Can you define what you mean by a "referenced column"? I assumed it would be any column that is used in a visual or contributed to any calculation or relationship. Bravo is flagging fields used in visuals as "not referenced" and is saying they can be removed. This would break the visuals using these field(s). Thanks. This is an amazing tool for beginners. Great job.
Great work.. another step in making Power BI the greatest BI tool available :-) One question, is it possible to export a models measure definitions like name and formulas?
You can export the VPAX file and import it with VertiPaq Analyzer, you'll see all the measures (and other DAX expressions) in a separate Excel table: www.sqlbi.com/tools/vertipaq-analyzer/
Bravo !! 👏👏👏 This tool is just amazing and I am sure it would be really of great help for all Power BI users and not just only for the beginner .. thank you Marco and Alberto for this amazing tool 😀👍
@@SQLBI Would love to have this feature one day in Bravo or DAX Studio. It is quite tricky to figure out expanded table when you have 3 or more tables in different kinds of relationships.
Great tool to help us. The date table provides me a kolom date with the wrong outcome. It gives met 01-MM-2022 instead of 01-01-2022. I use the standard Calender template in Regional format nl-NL

Sadly, my bravo time intelligence calcs have the same values for MTD and Total monthly sales :(. edited to add: I fixed this by replacing the DATESMTD function: 1. added a DayofMonth calculated column to date key (DAY(FiscalDate[Date])) 2. replaced DATESMTD in 'MTD TotalSales' measure with a filter on the datekey to before/equal DAY(TODAY())).
You guys are awesome. You keep contributing to the community in a way no one else does!! Thanks Maestros!!!
Marco. It's been too long since we chatted. You truly are first class. This is a brilliant addition to the community. Thanks.
There are no more DAX challenges for these guys, so they take it up to the next level. What do you want me to say? BRAVO!!

Sin duda alguna han creado una gran herramienta para la comunidad mundial de Power Bi.

Sounds like a swiss knife for Power BI! Quality and precision is guaranteed by SQLBI.
This is going to help new users to Power BI so much, two businesses spring to mind immediately. Will test and play. Exciting and wondering what's the second tool....
looks great guys . Is this available for an analysis services .bim file too ? Or will it be ?
No, you have Tabular Editor and DAX Studio for them.
What are the features that you would like to use?
@@SQLBI we have a lot of fairly new SSAS developers so thought the Date table generation and measures looked especially useful . At the moment we have to lift and shift the JSON for our date tables across to new models . Thought this might be a nice way of avoiding that .
But as you say we have TE for that
DaxTemplate is a library used by Bravo that we hope will be integrated in Tabular Editor, too.

Can you export data from a table I've made inside the report? As in through the table visualisation
No, Bravo does not have access to the report.
Looking forward to it!

Are there any limitations in Exporting data to excel or CSV like in Power BI?
No limitations.

Currently referenced column is only a column referenced in the model (by other DAX expressions such as measures and calculated tables/columns).
Bravo cane non si nasce, si diventa 😇

Does Bravo work only with Power BI Service ? Currently we work with Power Bi Report Server .Thanks

can bravo Bi handle large datasets
Yes!
Can you see expanded table with Bravo ?
