In my case I gently filed the entire surface of my 2 big toe nails, thin. I then clipped them short, waited for them to grow out, clipping as needed. They grew out without any signs of the fungus. I thought of this, I didn't read about or hear anything about this way to take care of it. My motivation was if I eliminate the darkness contributing to the fungus survival it just might die ! I'm Sooo Smart 🤓 I tried so many things but refused to take drugs after reading about the side effects. It's been many years years fungus free, after suffering 13 yrs. It's free nothing to loose 😊

You know I did this for a while and kept clipping up and it was so far back I couldn't clip it out and keep it out and I got a little lazy. But I'm here to tell you it does work. The filing part is genius 👍👍👍

I really appreciate you putting up content doc thank you! Ive watched several of them and the theme is constantly you giving low cost options that are effective for treatment. I went to a podiatrist for toe nail fungus after fighting it for over a year aggressively and i am on a very low carb diet and very active. First thing he said when entering the room was he wanted do bunion surgery on my feet for bunions i didnt even know i had. While i now agree i may have a mild case of bunion i am asymptomatic and in my opinion corrected the issue that caused them a few years ago which was wearing the wrong shoes for years. I now wear altra's or topos because i have wide feet. Watching your video on bunions made me see that surgery can be a long commitment and one that i cant afford to take unless its absolutely necessary. I run about six miles a day and train with high internsity almost daily for sport and i have no orthopedic issues with my feet. Your video on that helped me start thinking of other options.
As far as the fungus content in this video i am gonna give these methods a shot. Thanks again!

As a Certified Master Pedicurist for 10 years I really appreciate this video! I now have something to send to my client from a doctor that backs-up many things I've known and said for years. I would like to add that woman can get "fungi" from their bed partner. I've recorded many times where the toes closest to the partner with an issue becomes a problem, with no other reason for the change. Thank you for the great work you do! Wish you were in Arizona 😊

It is amazing that there are so many effective low cost treatments. Long ago I went to a doctor, and he did not suggest any of these remedies. Instead, he suggested some pills that cost $900 and were dangerous to your liver. I did not opt to follow that advice. But it is quite discouraging that some doctors steer clear of effective treatments that are FREE!

I don't expect my infection to ever go away. It's an issue of ongoing maintenance. When I don't keep it up I regret it. But once I start back up to a daily routine, it gets so much better right away. Right now I'm soaking in listerine, blow dry, clean out debris, file, and put on an otc compound. Twice a day every day. No polish. Hopefully I keep it up for a few months.

Toenail fungus is persistent stuff. I can't take terbifine, but the one time I did before i had to stop to avoid liver issues, it worked nearly instantaneously. If you can tolerate it, don't mess with holistic treatments, I'd say. Yes, it's not cheap, but wow did it work.
I'm a little skeptical of diet as a cause, but what I've found is somewhat effective is a vinegar/baking soda soak followed by tea tree oil. That at least keeps the itching down.. I've also noticed that sunlight definitely helps. My toes like being in the sun at the beach...

I've had nail fungus on my nail for years. I saw a video on UA-cam a while back that said to apply "Decolorized Iodine Tincture" every morning and sometimes in the evening! I've been using this "Decolorized Iodine" for about six months now. My nails are about 1/2 grown out now and the new nail growth is totally normal, no fungus at all! Plus I stopped wearing socks to keep my feet warm when I sleep. Hope this helps! I got one called "GERMA, Iodine Tincture Decolorized, IODO, BLANCO" off Amazon, pretty cheap!

So your feet are just frozen? I wear socks. The only part of me that gets cold at night. Considering I only sleep 2-3hrs if I'm lucky, I'm not going to stay awake by my cold feet. I live in open toed Birkenstocks, so that's not the problem. I'm trying iodine, Vicks next. Soaking in bleach H2o didn't do anything. Neither did spraying acv. Or 2 bottles each of 2 different meds. If this doesn't work or at least look like it, I'll look into having it removed. Not blowing up my liver on oral drugs. Even tho I've been protecting my liver with Milk Thistle for decades.

I'm so glad that I watched this video. I have toe nail fungus. I have a very painful lower back injury. It stops me from walking and exercise. My pain level is at a constant number 8. The only time I'm painless is when I sit. Have many more health problems. No one has been able to help me. Because of all that pain, I got very depressed. I sit in my darkened bedroom at my computer. My fingernails have no problem growing quite long. Have to clip them every 3 weeks. I can't cut my toe nails. The skin underneath is attached to my toe nail and they grow at a crazy angel. I do soak my feet. Make sure they very dried off. I apply a liquid for fungus to my nails and wear loose fitting socks to bed. I will try the Iodine on my nails. I truly hope that that will cure the fungus. I'm embarrassed to take my socks off at my doctor's office. I also have gotten some kind of skin decease. My skin is flaking off all over my body. Was giving Betamethasone 0.055% Ointment. The itching drives me crazy. Have scratched myself bloody. Been using that Ointment for a little over one year now and see no improvement. Thank you so much for your advise.

Might sound crazy but at least give this a try. When you are in pain close your eyes look at the spot that hurts (with them closed ) keep repeating to yourself 55515 55515 55515. Seriously the pain will lessen and eventually go away. Sunlight is very important for our skin. Spend what time you can with your bare feet on the earth. Meaning the grass not inside will help will all types of inflammation but repeating that number will reduce your pain level. Just do it with an open mind. Really truly give it a chance. Isn't permanent but will give you relief when you need it. ❤

I had fungal infection in almost all of my toenails and tried many of those commercial sprays, it only worked if you apply it intensively 3 times a day for many months and if you stop using it will grow back, it will never kill the fungus completely. So with that you are forced to use it your whole life. I did also try teatree and saw a better and faster healing but still did not cure it completely. I then tried my doctor to prescribe me those oral medications but she was hesitant but finally she did give me it. What i understand is those sideeffects are rare and I myself didnt have any sideeffects. It healed very quickly and it has completely erradicated the fungus, its now been a year and it hasnt come back. Got beautifull toenails now that I dont need to hide. Doctors shouldnt be that hesitant if it can cure many people with lifetime discomfort and pain with only a slight possibility of short term sideaffects.

Wow, learned a whole lot from this video. I also use a powered file with various tips to grind down my problem toenails and keep them short. It's not even possible on a couple of nails to use normal clippers or scissors as they've been repeatedly injured and how grow straight upward. Your explanation of blood flow really helps me understand this issue. The MD I consulted said the issue was fungus but from your video and others I see that it may be from repeated injuries and ill-fitting shoes, perhaps in addition to fungus. I've battled "athlete's foot" for most of my life. Was also glad to see your mention of bleach soaks, I learned about that from a veterinary student, and that remedy has helped me far more than only the topical sprays and creams. I don't recommend it for everyone as you can burn yourself, you need to know what you are doing, but I was desperate for something that works. That is not a 100% cure but it keeps it in remission for much longer. I still need to use creams and sprays on the feet. One thing about fungal toe infections, they can very easily spread to other parts of the body. From scratching after having first contracted the fungus in Jr. High phys ed, it spread to my fingers. That's why this is not just the mere annoyance that many people claim, you must be careful with contagion by touching. It can live on clothing, carpeting, etc. for months and longer. I've always feared of getting it in some place that can't easily be treated, even around the eyes for instance, and so this condition has basically shaped much of my life. It takes time out of a life for the special care every day. Not to mention the hundreds and thousands of dollars on OTC products that do not produce a lasting cure. I've never tried internal medications for fear of potential liver effects.

I was surprised that you didn't mention vinegar to treat fungus. It actually kills better than bleach, which I wouldn't use on my skin under any circumstance. ACV can be taken as a supplement to help internally and white vinegar added to a foot bath 4 oz. per gal of water can have a bit of salts added to it too.

Tak, ja octem jabłkowym wyleczyłam grzybice paznokci. Trzy lata powracał. Rozcieńczam w buteleczce ocet jabłkowy z woda - 1,2 octu i 1,2 wody. Przemywam tym codziennie po kąpieli całe stopy i wszystkie paznokcie u nóg. Grzyba nie ma a ja robię to nadal profilaktycznie.

My case is really mild and maybe it’s placebo, but I did Vicks only once and my feet looked a lot lighter. It was a lot less noticeable. So I’m going to keep trying that. I did the bleach ones as well so maybe I will throw that in the rotation. Even though I’m pretty sure that’s illegal because it says on the bottle that you were not supposed to use it other than what it’s directed for. But that will be our secret! Just have to test your limits.
Also, I heard someone say that Vicks doesn’t actually fix the problem, but it just gets rid of the discoloration. I hope that’s not the case.

After soaking and trimming big toenails I use the Oscillating tool with Finger Sanding Pad to sand that thick nail down to the fungus so any treatment can work better. Nails are much better, probably 80% better so I'm going to try comments ideas such as Tea Tree Oil, Immuneti, Apple Cider Vinegar, etc.

I have a VERY slow, VERY resistant fungus that has been in my right big toe for over 20 years. It doesn't grow or get worse, but it doesn't go away no matter what I do or what meds I take. It only covers 1/3 of the toenail.

Ahhh yes it is my big toes. This was the most informative and comforting video on this topic. Albeit a bit long winded and all over the place. I don’t need to know diabetes rates in India. But yes typically my big toenails are kind of long. Because I get overwhelmed to trim them. And I do have big feet so I feel like that means often. My feet are crammed in my shoes, so what you are saying makes sense.

I can vouch for the vapor rub. Not expensive and there is a softening effect from the petrolium jelly base.

Malissia, thanks for the great response!
We appreciate you support and input. I never noticed any effects of vapor rub on nail fungus. Maybe it is effective - I just never heard about it. However, there are many compounds and treatments that may temporarily slow down growth of nail and skin fungus, particularly if routine of treatment includes frequent daily cleanup and drying of affected areas. Keep me posted about your long term experience with vapor rub.

I heard use "Copper Sulfate" baths for toenails, they will fall off and then do preventing.
Do you recommend??? Maybe just for big toenails one by one?
