This is nice and I’ve been waiting for a video like this since I like to breed on official but I’m console player. Will be great to start breeding right away without worrying about getting the higher possible stats in advance. Thank you!!
WOW. Truly impressive. I felt like i was watching a science video lol thank you for the hard work! I have notifications on for when you post an updated video! Very cool
Just don't ever start the video with a jump scare. Please
I know all i saw was anabelle 😂😂
Boo!!!
Wow! Such a nice change! Thank you for all the research you all do!
That is honestly really interesting what they done. Really looking forward to playing it and seeing a more up to date video on how it all works.
Wow, this is huge. Thanks for the clear explanation! 💜
So helpful. Excellent explanation. Thank you so much!!!
Woohoo thanks again Tiia for answering one of my questions from the dino talk. Now just to wait for console release...
Sorting you a Kofi
Great video! I have been looking for something like this. This is going to make breeding so much easier and less time consuming but I know it will suck on pve to some breeders because the value of their work will not be as high anymore.
Woah, I didn’t even see that detail! That is gonna change breeding for the better, I am so excited for this!
I feel like it might be important to say, that due to the removal of the movement speed stat, there is now no stat points that get wasted into movement speed (points that went into movement speed had no affect on the speed of the creature). This means that there is more points that can end up going into other stats resulting is slightly better creatures overall(This goes for base level and mutations stat points). Although I have not tested this, but if you add up the total number of base level points (and also mutation points) it will result in a number one less that the creatures overall level (Level 1 creatures have 0 in all stats). This also means the is a better chance to get creatures with one stat higher than the rest. Also there is a higher chance of a mutation to land on a stat that you actually want rather than getting wasted on movement speed stat.
Tldr; Because movement speed stat is removed, creatures are slightly better (I think, not tested)
Best bit of insight I've seen in a bit. I remember the drastic change in fliers tamed stats
I didn't even think about that, that's good news. Especially since many creatures also have unused color regions that mutations could still land on, so it was entirely possible to get a movement speed mutation on a color region that doesn't exist, resulting in a mutation that literally did nothing
That was my first thougt hearing the news too. I hadnt played yet so I was hoping this was the case and It wasnt some wonky hidden stat that can eat levels but not use or raise them
I think you are right, I tamed a 150 carno and all its stats seemed a little higher, its not a huge difference if the case but with luck you can prolly get crazy base stats now
I believe speed is still there. That explains why some raptors for example are faster than other. Speed will be just removed for leveling only on official, single player still has that option. System vise option has to exost in both single player and multiplayer game algorithms in order to work. Ofc this is my opinion based on single player, tested with multiple dinos. Some are faster than other even with same species and lvl, that means definitely base stats add speed as well. Also explain on one pair of megatherium speed was 135% on ofspring, while other had 115%.
That’s pretty awesome news, and good explaination of it all. Since levels are garbage on the Island this will make a big differnce.
Very informative! I'm looking forward to your upcoming video with more details. I take it we still need to do the whole clean line routine to get the best out of the mutation strategy?
It's really nice to see so many popular mods make their way into the base game (even if this one is locked behind tek, ew) and tracking it separately is nice but an extra bit of breeding work for those who care. I think the real reason it split is to make breeding more straightforward since in the past people would get the mutation counters up into the hundreds when it was really just a mix of like 20 or so and improper breeding techniques (for the game they were breeding on). Since it tracked how many mutations both parents had, 20 mutations each parent would show as 40 on a baby with no new mutations and 60 if you bred that with one of the other 20 parents and so on.
It is still counting the same mutations from both parents. I only have 1 actual mutation. I can breed them together and the mutation counter from parents goes up. Like 1F, 1M. I got one with 2F mutations and 4M mutations and they only have 1 actual mutation. I think I need to make sure the female has no mutations. Still confused.
Interesting! Really hope this is by design and not something they'll remove. As a breeder this is great, though I can see why some might not like it as it is pretty powerful with that change.
Good lord that face gives me flash backs of working at a gas station
Not trying to be mean but the face is very creepy giving me chucky bride vibe 😅lol
👁👄👁
I'm super excited to mutate the Shastasaurus. I want a pod of them being my mobile underwater base.
The first minute looks like a video from the dark web with the dead dodo in the corner of the screen and the wall behind you 😂
This makes me less upset about all the low level creatures on the island.
Thats fucking intro was so fucking scary wtf
Almost sounds like pokemon breeding😊
Your character looks like she has gingivitis and is bleeding in the gums😮
Uhm.. Good you didnt see the dodo in the beginning
Great video thanks for the info
That IS much better.
My brain is too smooth, I’m gonna need more videos on breeding. 👀
Hey I was wondering have they finally fixed the bug with the Megalosaurus grab attack?
Your talking avatar is scary hahah
Now we have to figure out the value of each mutation on every creature.
That's what we're actually working on :D
@@TiiaAurora I also wonder if they changed the mutation rate
@@donkeyjoe4782i was thinking the same… will there be a maximum 🤔
Makes me wonder how we will keep track of this without the Tek binoc's
How will the egg incubator display these figures?
@@spottedot it isn't I'm the game as of now
the close up talking face is creepy af
What’s the programs you using to see Dino stats ?
OK if anything convinced me it's worth starting my single player game over it's this. Even though I managed to breed a nice line of Argies, I hadn't started on any boss fight dinos yet. Even starting all over, the time this alone would save is probably worth it.
I know you had posted a second video with a different take on the breeding. does that mean upon further testing you original results (the ones from this video) are the correct results?
I would also love confirmation on this. If true, this is awesome!
Edit: Confirmed! I just found it on the community tab:
"I was able to preproduce that the mutation stacks can be moved to another parents stat! Video is coming."
THANK YOU TIIA!!
@@MeganStrickland thank you for the update! This is an amazing game changer!
🎉 Thank you. Great video
BLINK for fuck sake! BLINK!!

I been trying play, but every unofficial server keeps going offline and official full. I may just single player for now. Anyone got recommendations for servers to join? I’m trying to get point to breed
I know my server is just running a test server until console release so everybody is on equal footing. Other servers may be following the same idea so they can expand their player base with the new crossplay.
The arkitects server cluster. Good active long term community. Asa and ase.
search for "247 gaming"
I still don't fully understand it. I only recently dived In breeding and used your old in depth Guide to learn it. Combine best stats, mutate stat to 20 repeat and combine. But now I don't know Anymore
i kinda dread cuddle requests with no cryo pods to reset when they want kibble
best to have a kibble farm going any way you can get a full egg set up with from dodos, pteranodons, ankyies, argentavis, rex's, yutyrannus all the things you need anyways ordered from worst to best kibble
Or just use Yuty's. Extraordinary kibble for everything.
@talontalent can't for imprints I don't think Witch was the context of the information
The new feature of Oviraptors to autogather eggs is amazing for getting kibble too.
But you only imprint final dinos anyways don’t want to imprint while breeding for stats
Finally it wont be pain when your breeding for colors or something and get a important mutation but on a low lvl dino so it wass useless
hey hey, how do you guys get rid of unwanted baby dinos while breeding?
Unclaimed and kill with Dino you want to lvl
im still kinda confused on this.. so basically just stack up a bunch of mutations on a dino to get higher melee?
wait what..
Can't wait for this game to be playable in 2030!😂
i miss the incubator =/
.. and Cryo-pods ..
you figured out you were right and made a mistake somewhere in your testing?
Hey it’s my fav pve player
What is mp bp etc?
mutation points, base points, leveled points
Is your character talking from ai or is that from the game when you engage in local vc?
That's a great change! I can't wait until ASA doesn't require several thousand dollars in upgrades just to run lol
My computer was 1100 and bought it last year. 3060, i7, 16gm RAM. Nothing top of the line and can still run most settings on high/epic minus pointless things to me like VolumetricClouds.
Works great on console :D
Wow, I both love and really hate this
So many people dont understand breeding its crazy. Which makes life better for me. Less competent competition lol
You still thinking ASE terms. I’ve tested and you can get stat increases without mutations now…like hidden mutations as she explained
I'm not against being wrong. But all I as a console player have to go off of is what wildcard said about not changing breeding, just that they gave breeding a multiplier of its own.
I'd need to see proof to believe otherwise
How do you unlock the binocs?
Cheat. Since you need to beat bosses to get element. And nobody has posted boss fights.
@@klaumbazswampdorf1764 I've seen a boss fight already
@@klaumbazswampdorf1764 i meant how to legit do it which boss specifically
breeding good
omg thats so much better
Why can't they just make breeding simple, why all this chess game style for a mechanic lol
I always like the breeding system in temtem. I think is easier to understand.
I'm more surprised you can make your character speak and look lifelike.
hallo dino menschen :)
this vid really didnt make a lot of sense.... the base stats were always seperate just not displayed as such, the mutations always stacked and were inherited you just had a limit set on them unless you did the lines a specific way.
Mutations were present in evolved. I suspect they may have just made it more obvious in the interface.
The video isn't saying mutations are new if you watch the video.
I hope the devs make mutations harder to get on the larger dinos and easier on the smaller ones.
The PvP balance requires it.
darn i didnt understand at all
What I understood it means that the mutation point will potentially be transferred not the stat it self
It could be like if you have a Rex with 100 dmg with 2 points on mutation, lets say the mutations points gives 5% on the stat, that would be 110 dmg. If a wild Rex is captured with 120 dmg and its breed only the 2 points from the mutation will be added up to the 120 dmg
God, the player models look soooo much worse than SE. I can’t get over how your character looks like a zombie.
Wait what it can't handle 50 dodos? Lol
How is this new? if u used the s+ mod with the awesome spyglass its kind of the same i guess
I think you gotta watch the video again :D
@@TiiaAurora i did see the fact that the normal stat are passed on, but seeing the mutation stats was already available its is not that new.
and it was also not nesecarry to ahve the best stat, if u did it right u could stack those stats either way.
i could start with an only 6 hp stat and depending on server settings u could end up with a 254 eventually.
also i could still use a new tame while breeding if that new tame had indeed better stats, u just need to know how to do it while stacking the mutations.
iam not hating on your video, just saying i already could and can do this stuff in ASE if i really want to, but i would indeed need the awesome spyglas mod to do it.
@@lampjerulez I think you have to watch the video yet again :D Breeding works different than in ASE now. This video is not about "seeing" the mutations.
wel in that case i just dont understnad your explanation, but i also didnt said it was about seeing the mutations, i also said i could stack them, even with new breeds in ase.
but yeah apperantly the differences aint that clear to me
@@TiiaAurora
@@lampjerulez Keep re-watching the video until you understand it correctly.

Bad change
Even the lowest rate modded server has had these features for years, for me, there's not really anything new
The breeding mechanic wasnt moddable. You could maybe replace it. But I am not aware of any mod that was able to do this
You absolutely cannot take mutations earned from one tame, and breed them against. Wild tame and have thoze mutation stacks apply a mutTion effect against the new stat. The best possible outcome is you get your new stat, with one mutation if both parents werent mutTion capped
We did just that tho
i think that's what they changed, lets say:
a creature borns with a mutation, that mutation instead of counting to the original stat point, like adding 2 levels on health or damage, it counts as a separate stat level, and that number makes like a multiplier to the stat it mutates
so, that means it could inherit that mutation points to a new creature with even higher base stat, and still get the 2 mutation points
when i say it it makes no sense but that's mostly because im incapable of explaining things, but in my head i understand what it means
Seems like you are 200IQ and I had the biggest luck in the world :D ua-cam.com/video/cgBDTH_Jam8/v-deo.html
Mutation counters have always been passed onto the offspring. You can add the 6(from your exampl3) to any creature and it will still show 6 mutations in that stat, from its lineage, but until you can show proof that now in ASA those mutations now then multiply the new stat to reflect having 6 mutations of the new higher tamed stat, then I'm still right.
So what you should try and show your community is:
Dodo with low hp stat, say 10 BP, with 6 or higher mutations in one stat.l, bred against a fresh wild Dodo with, say, 20 BP (USING FAKE NUMBERS TO EXPLAIN MYSELF), and breed those repeatedly until you can show a baby Dodo with 20 BP and 6 MP via the binoc readout, and then show us the actual stat having a value indicative of it now having 26 points. Not just it showing 20 BP and 6 mp per your example.
Cause the latter is just mutation counters being passed on to offspring which is nothing new.
Again, present me with hard evidence and my mind will change
I don't understand this video at all 😢 I feel like it's explained way too fast and not enough examples.
