Matt's skills and style are impeccable as ever. Kudos to Softube for getting him to demo.
Matt could make any instrument or software sound amazing, he is that gifted and talented as a musician. But the Softube Model 84 is the real deal, it's such a great sounding instrument.
Smart move with Matt Johnson on display with your instrument!
I sold my Juno and Moog this year, and I was so glad to have Softube's fantastic emulations available to keep the magic alive. I would love to hear Softube's take on an Oberheim next.
I'd like TAL to come up with a Moog VST 😂
@@meilstone tal is 🗑️
@@listenfidi awesome, have to ask Patrick about the release date... 👍👍👍
Brainworx have a oberhausen emulation that is quite good
What a fantastic demo. No V.O. no fancy marketing. Just let someone play the thing! Sold.
I wonder if everything he played was only the Juno plugin? Can anyone from Softube chime in?
I was looking at some Juno 106 emulations, and came across this, and my jaw dropped. This is exactly what I'm looking for
I just picked this up today and I am pleased beyond belief that it sounds EXACTLY like my Juno 106 that I foolishly let go of in the early 90’s. Can’t wait to pull up some Performer files from 1986 (yes, unlike Cubase MOTU still reads its old file formats!) and map the ancient tracks to the Model 84! 😀
That sound at 1:50… totally does not sound like a Juno 106. Wow. Great sounds all around.
Bitchin' sound! The emulation of that chorus is my favorite choruses in the whole wide world.
Such a simple synthesizer and yet such a huge range of sounds! Lots of great programming inspiration here
I'm not sure that I've heard a more convincing soft synth. Can't wit to see which synth Softube emulate next...
I'm praying that it will be Oberheim OB-Xa...
@@user-jh2se4tl5p Me too!
@@user-jh2se4tl5p Arturia's version is great. I used to own an OB-8.
Or a Prophet 6
@@mybiggrin prophet 5, you won.
Wow. I have a ‘soft’ Juno but this…just makes me want it. Amazingly juicy presets. And of course, played by a master.
Best Juno 106 plugin out there. Thank you!
Sounds fantastic…especially in the right hands!
Just incredible.
Matt is THE MAN. Nice sounding Jupiter too. 😎🎶
Will be nice, hear sounds from HiNrg or Italo Disco era, fully charged with Junos! Great demonstration, thank you!
Love this!
Great artist, great demo, incredible emulation of the Juno 106..this maybe imho not only the best Juno emulation but the best vst analog sinth emulation "tout court" ever made : can't wait the DISCOUNT offer that is planned for the next we
Amazing job Matt and congrats Softube. This really is a masterpiece. I hope you do more vintage Roland stuff.
Man that sounds good
This is a masterful demonstration.
Hat off to Matt. Having said that I came here to say that I find the Preset Browser on the 84 the most fun killer Browser I have seen in a long time.
What a weird structure and workflow. It's like someone woke up and said "you know what? Let's make the browser different than anything else. Just cause we can"- End of rant
I have a lot of rack extension from softube they hardware emulation of compressor and EQ like the trident are crazy good same thing for there tape emulation , i didn't knew they build some fantastic synth clone like this one, it's so good.
Awesome playing and review!!!!!
I don't know how they did but this is the best synth emulation EVER MADE, it sounds exactly as the hardware, I'm without words. Super impressed, really guys who programmed/created this SW version is a genius, he did a super incredible meticolous job. It is worth every $. WOW.
Really cool!
An extraordinary artist. A wonderful synth. What else do we need? Instant buy .. best software emulation from Juno ever. Thank you!
Sold!
Superb
1:20 great Bon Iver type sound
oh wow... butter!
Exceptionally well done plugin. I'll start saving, hopin' I can ever afford it.
Two years later, I know, but it's currently on sale for $69 on PluginBoutique. Now might be your chance!
00:38 ... 1... 2.... sold!
Softube! Do a LinnDrum!
Imagine if they did midi controllers specific to their plugins.. THAT would be dope
My thoughts exactly!
Midi Learn. You can easily set up your chosen midi controller with this.
@@JayTheLane Have do you midi map to active device? :)
I downplayed Softube for years saying they over price plugins. Those days are over. I’m a huge Phil Collins fan so when I heard the in the air sound perfectly replicated I had to give their prophet synth a go. Purchased it on sale and the rest is history. I now own all of Softube emulated synths and am ecstatic for their next one. Their attention to detail is worth the money. But I’ll keep on waiting for sales.
That's a great song, isn't it? :) Great to hear you're liking the plug-ins!
Cheers,
David at Softube
que vaina linda!!!!
Una vaina moe hermosa ma brada!
too bad im having trouble loading this into my m1 macbook pro in logic. i didnt see the site saying trouble with big sur until after purchase. so now i eagerly wait for an update
chords at 5:08 sound similar to I Feel It Coming (The Weeknd x Daft Punk), but in a different key. Are those chords to a different song? Just curious if the weeknd's chord progression was taken from something released much earlier and that's why it feels so familiar.... Would love to hear the original.
This is by far the closest em to ANY real hardware synth.
What songs are being played at 0:49 1:20 1:55 3:27 3:54 5:14. Sorry I know that’s a lot but some of them sounds so familiar and then two of them I want to be familiar with
Matttyyyyy!!
I’ve been thinking about getting a synthesizer and the price of this one by softube model 84 is so cheap but sounds impressive for something that hardly costs anything ps brilliant keyboard playing i could not remember the names of some of those melody’s you played but i remember hearing them before tho how many presets does the model 84 have anyone please thanks
❤
Can you tell me what that is from 3:40 to 4:33 ? Is that an original work of yours, or is that a commercial song you covered? Either way, it's beautiful.
🔥🔥🥰🥰
😮😮❤😮😮
02:00 nice lead.
01:19 Is that Beth/Rest by Bon Iver?
Ok, this synth is a bargain, but how much to be able to play like this?!
Is there a Multimoog VST yet?
Are the sounds played in the video actual presets?
Yes, Matt created a preset pack which you can download from the Softube Product page, it has all these sounds.
Hello
These vst sound impressive to be honest.
So which synth does this plugin emulate?
You've probably found that out already, but it's the Juno-106.
What is the song being played at 0:28??
MGMT "Kids"
@@lifescansdarkly thats not it
@@lifescansdarkly I looked through MGMT stuff its "Time to Pretend"
@@Fast4VVard oh yeah you're right
@@lifescansdarkly you helped me still with saying it was MGMT otherwise I wouldnt have known where to begin to look haha
1:50 The Juno doesn't have oscillator sync?
That is just high resonance. The preset is Cosmic Girl, but its modified and possibly EQ'd. Just increase the decay envelope and take away a bit of attack, etc.
@@zxbrycI figured, but thanks
🙂👍👌. Regards from Kerala 'God's own country
It is irrefutable. This isn’t an emulation. It’s the real thing.
ILok key need it. HARD PASS
No iLok key needed, only an iLok account. You can activate all licences locally to your computer, and you can activate to 3 different locations at the same time. /Tom
@@SoftubeStudios Nevertheless the registration/installation process is annoying.
Rayy‘s Musikladen you know what i have always HATED the iLOK system it’s prevented me from actually us using software that was dependent on it but i bit the bullet and just ordered this synth plugin only problem is i am in the middle of redoing my studio and upgrading it and stuff isn’t connected yet , just got both the CONSOLE and the FADER 1 (still in the boxes - i know i know) but I’ve just recently had a very intense back operation from an injury and they put titanium rods and a metal cage in my lower spine so i have to take it a bit slow but i just also picked up the new ASM HYRDASYNTH (still in the box too) along with new JBLS 305 8s monitors with the sub too and a 88 weighted Roland D88 synth for my controller and also got a vintage KORG M1 that’s part of my setup and the AKAI MPC LIVE Midi Drum Sampler/Controller with an AKAI MPK ADVANCED 61 for my softsynths
its just gonna take me prolly another month to get it all setup and i just bought the MODEL 84 POLY SYNTH because SOFTUBE GODS heard my prayers about lowering the price back down to $99 so i paid for it on my cc i just hope it doesn’t expire or anything until i setup everything but i am excited like a kid on Xmas and going to try to get my studio up and running and all connected because i have never ever used a DAW before (I’m old school fart who’s used hardware based sequencers for my music production but will be crossing to the other side now ... wish me luck :-)
@@RayyMusik its really not. softubes central works now. very easy installation tbh.
