I refurbished this pub many years ago. Built the 2 front porches and big extension to the left. What people don't know is that we left a time capsule with money in under the stone floor just at the bottom of the disabled ramp 😉
I grew up on speeton just behind the crown! I just don't think they ever got the right people in for this pub. It had quite a reputation for drugs etc. I think there was a lot of issues with the residential flat due to the extension so not many people wanted to live there. It seemed as soon as anyone got it to be a decent place, vandals stole the slate from the roof
Although I have always found exploring these places I can't help but feel sad to see lifeless places going to waste specially with homelessness as it is.
sad to see, spent hundreds of days in there, had my 18th there, our Rugby team was based there, twice. The old stadium in the picture, is Odsal, and its still very much like that.
That's cool and see got loads of memories of it too shame they didn't do something with the pictures in there like maybe give them to a local library or museum to preserve them.
Had some great nights in there over the years. I live just around the corner. Its a shame to see it like this. All robbed out with the stone and roof stolen.
I’d never make it over that wall at my age… shame would’ve loved to get in there. Old pubs are fantastic, so many memories lost

I would love to know what year that was
Probably around 1997 98
Sad to see the state of this grade 2 listed building. This used to be my local but I could never understand why it was never as popular as the Crown
Only went in here once when meeting a friend local to that area and seemed nice little pub indeed

I live around the corner from this, should see how it’s fallen in the last year!
Nice pub loved all the old photos
Congratulations very nice video, too bad that the vandals manage to ruin such beautiful and historical places. Greetings from Italy 👏👏👏💙
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video ☺️ but definitely is a shame when you see that vandals have destroyed history
Was once a busy lively pub. Shame its like that now
What a shame. Used to be a good pub. Lots of bands played there including my own.
That's cool 👍

Very true always think that myself could house homeless in them and lot of stuff could go to charity
