Her most recent album goes more up-beat but in her own way. She deserve the dive trust me, I'm fan of Ren, The Warning and Aurora and some how they all fit togueter .
I’ve followed Aurora now for 7 years had the privilege of seeing her perform live 4 times most recently at the royal Albert hall, now as a humble 68 year old I’ve seen scores of artists performing over the years and of course many were amazing but honestly no one has moved me at an emotional level like Aurora.as a live performer she takes you into her world and you see exactly what she is seeing and what the essence of music should be all about.as a songwriter you can immediately understand why growing up she loved listening to Bob Dylan and Lenard Cohan both great wordsmiths,Aurora for me is more than special,,artist s like her come along very rarely and I’m blessed to have her words of medicine her words of poetry in my life.Aurora = Genius ❤️
This is the acoustic version of Murder Song, there is an album version which is a lot different, it is faster paced and with a beat. This was Dec 2015, 8.5 years before she was featured in BMTH's song, so a lot has changed in that time 😃 She has a lot of different sounds and genres on her latest album "What Happened To The Heart" from June 2024, and on her 2nd latest "The Gods We Can Touch" from Jan 2022 as well to a lesser degree.
She's different as in wonderfully different. Not only is her voice beautiful but her lyrics are always telling stories. Her way of moving on the stage is remarkable. She's so grounded but also like a fairy, I think. I think her fanbase is called "Warriors & Weirdos. Thanks for Aurora! I hope you will react to her again. 💚🧸✌
Aurora is from Norway, like Angelina Jordan. I could write so much about her, but it still wouldn't do her justice. The more you know, the more fascinating she is. She is a prodigy singer/songwriter/pianist/dancer/comedian/fairy and likes being barefoot to connect with nature's energy. She has a wicked sense of humor and is endearingly weird and funny. Most of her songs are sad but she also has upbeat ones. She is very expressive (she's an interpretive dancer) and her lyrics are as deep as The Marianas Trench. Her song RUNAWAY has over 650 million views.
she has some songs with domestic abuse as a topic, but this is more about assisted dying. over all a very pleasant reaction to phenomenon aurora. she has a huge catalog, hope you will dive deep and find what you need in her artistry. thanks.
Great reaction, subscribed👍😍 Aurora has been my favourite artist for almost 10 years now, she’s “a different kind of human” (she has a song called that) She started writing music at the age of 6 when she found an old piano in the attic, she added lyrics (English) at the age of 9. Her family didn’t know about her talent until she was 13 - 14 years old. She wrote her breakthrough song “Runaway” at the age of 11, and “Lucky” (another song from her debut album) at the age of 9. This is what she herself said about “Murder Song”: “Her, she didn't want to be in this world anymore, and she knew that this man would do anything for her. She asks him to kill her and he said: 'OK, I love you, I would do anything for you.' After he killed her, he became sad because she didn't move anymore and he didn't understand where she went. He didn't understand why she left and he start crying. And it is sad, because for the rest of his life, he will not understand and he will be sad." In another interview, she said: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." She has written songs about domestic violence, my favourites are: “Churchyard” (cemetery) live at KEXP Iceland 2018 “It happened quiet” live at Current 2019 Otherwise you’ve gotten some really great suggestions from others👍
Man, I love your reactions. Perfect reaction❤ I would strongly suggest you check out her performance of Through The Eyes Of A Child which she performed at the Nidarosdomen cathedral here in Norway. Love from Norway 🇳🇴 ❤️
@@JohnnyFoxtrotshow and KEXP Iceland - for "early" Aurora - she's been doing this for more than a decade... a good audio recording of her very recent Albert Hall concert will show you where she is these days.
It is about a story she read in the paper of a mercy killing that the wife wanted for she had very painful canser and could not take it anymore and asked her loving husband to kill her....
Edit: loved your reaction btw! And also Aurora stated that she intended to write a song about love, but she ended up writing about murder for love, it all got it's back story, when she was young she was a little obsessed with death, like in runaway the song is about her running and dropping dead on the ground part of the lyrics "...would I run out of this world someday?"..."So I kept running, for a soft place to fall" It got a little worse later in 2011, there's a song titled "Little Boy In The Grass" where she tells the story of a young boy she met when she was still a child, they were what you can call friends, but she also let clear that she kind of liked the boy as a little girl can like a boy at that age if you understand, thing is that boy later became her friend and died in what was called the Utøya massacre in the 2011, he was 17 then (Aurora was 14 or 15 at that time). And I say later on because Aurora wrote Runaway when she was 9 years old (2005) even when she released it in her 2015 album. I would recommend "Through the Eyes of a Child" but the Vevo version of it because she was more focused on the song, not the Nidarosdomen one where she's distracted by the huge crowd and even when she made an awesome performance it doesn't bare the same emotion, She was a little too happy in Nidarosmen and the song is about longing for something that is gone and will never come back, which she delivers perfectly in Vevo's version of the song -> this one: Aurora - Through The Eyes Of A Child (Live) - Stripped (Vevo UK LIFT) I just clear that out because mostly people ask for the Nidarosmen one because it is awesome tbh, but the feelings are different in each one, and Vevo's performance is the one which really makes you feel that longing, that nostalgia.
You heard her wild side, you heard her soft side, now there remains everything that is inbetween and all around. When she sings, she gets lost in the song, so all the gestures and faces you see are almost unconscious, no roleplaying here. She is really special human being. I suggest watching some of her performances from the Honda Stage. Under the Water, for example.
Aurora must be protected at all costs. Another favorite of mine is "Churchyard" - particularly the KEXP-sponsored performance at Iceland Airwaves 2018 (link: ua-cam.com/video/nJLuG8c11Gk/v-deo.html). But she's another "throw a dart at her catalog" kind of artist.
