thank you so much for this! really! i started studying ux/ui design and i'm so glad i found your channel, the way you explain is just too good, i can't believe i found such a good source.
I’m glad you like it! I was really nervous about how I explained this subject! I kinda did it a little different but I wanted to make it easier for any beginners.
Hi Blaze! I’m very grateful for your video. I’m on the capstone portion of the Coursera Michigan UX specialization, and I’ve been at a mental block for a week trying to figure out how to find people, let alone the right people, to interview. Thank you for walking us through how to approach it. Can’t wait for part 2.5!
@@alwayscallingmeblaze everything is going well!! I just got a job thats helping with steady income and im thinking of slowly re-entering back into the the ui/ux world~~~
@@chrisburdios5778 nice man! Glad to hear it! Things are good! Work is good and always exciting! Haven’t streamed in a long while - I am planning some more productive streams to come in April. I’m glad everything is good with you!
Hey! I learned from the Figma UA-cam channel. I just watched their beginner series and then practiced by trying to recreate apps or websites I liked. You’ll pick it up quick!
Hey Blaze. Thank you for your uploads. I’m saving your videos to go back to for reference. I know you recommended the UX course by the University of Michigan. I was just curious if you had any thoughts on the UX course offered by Google in compared to Michigan & Cal Arts for UI. Thank you again.
Hello! I made another video (What’s the Best Way to Self Learn UI/UX) and I THINK I talk about it in there. So, forgive me if I forget to mention some points in my comment. I haven’t taken the course myself but I looked through the videos/syllabus and it doesn’t look bad by any means. But the steps they suggest don’t reflect a workflow that would give you the best results for user research and starting out on the right foot. There is a design process that UX designers follow and it’s because it works - it’s kinda universal. And Google follows it but somewhat loosely. I believe the Google course itself is there to show you how it works in a Google environment rather than how to follow the UX design process. In my opinion. So, I still think the Michigan Course is superior.
@@alwayscallingmeblaze Ahh I may have missed that video. But thank you so much for taking the time to respond in detail. I’ll stick with your advice. I genuinely do hope your channel gets the recognition it deserves. You’re truly humble about the content & information you share. All the best to you with this platform.
Hey Spencer, I'm on course 6 of 7 in the Google Cert (Started in Late Jan) and I will say it's a very basic overview of the UX process. You can also finish it much faster than the 6 months or so they estimate if you dedicate about an hour daily. Some of the 4-week courses only took me 1 week (while working full time)- plus or minus time spent on the longer assignments like making your actual mockup. Couple of my random thoughts/critiques: - It's a very Google version of the UX process (i.e designing for the following billion users) - every graded assignment people just give you full marks and leave no feedback - the forums and discussion assignments people often leave blank or just write "..." so it gets checked off for them. - You will have 3 projects by the end of the course for your portfolio, which the class assumes you know how to set up or have already - It's 100% on you to put in the effort to make your HiFi mockups be top tier as you could skate by on so much less sadly - I'd recommend supplementing with a lot of Figma Tutorials, and Nielsen Norman Group articles, and only using this cert. or just course 1 really to test the waters if UX is for you. I watched dozens of UX UA-camrs and @Always Calling Me Blaze had one of the most organized paths- I found him midway through the Google course, otherwise, I'd skip it and go straight to the 2 courses he's recommended which is my next plan after taking a small break from the Google course to do Mizko's Figma masterclass.
Hi Blaze I recently came across your channel and bing watching all your videos, super helpful, looking forward to part 3 :)
