    In this video I show you how to install our canister style air filter kit on your Kawasaki FS engine. Installing this heavy duty air filter kit on your Kawasaki FS engine will greatly improve the amount of run time that you get out of your air filters and better protect your engine from getting "dusted". This kit should fit on any brand of equipment as long as you don't have any space restrictions above your engine. We have not had any running issues that required rejetting on any of our test machines. Disclaimer - we are not liable for any issues caused to your engine, your engine warranty, or your engine meeting emissions standards by installing this upgrade to your machine. You are installing this upgrade at your own risk. Thanks for watching!
    *NOTE - We have heard of a few of the early built "new style" engines that did not have the two rubber bumpers that you remove to install the first two push pins. If your engine doesn't have the rubber bumpers you will just need to drill out those 2 holes as well using a 5/16" drill bit.

    The new bracket looks great! I have the old kit on the new engine, which requires a little bracket trimming. I'm really happy with it.

    Does this upgrade provide the same or better filtration as the factory one? It appears to use a kawi filter but since I have a mower with .3hrs lol. I want to make sure before pulling the trigger on it

      The canister style air filter is far superior to the standard filter that comes on the FS engines. The canister filter will do a much better job of filtering the air and have longer service intervals between cleaning/replacements. They do use OEM Kawasaki filters. Hope this helps!

      No, you absolutely do not need to rejet your carb to run this kit. Your engine will run great with this filter setup.

    I understand the benefits of converting over to the FX style canister filter because heat and dirt are the biggest issue for air cooled motors. When you swap a motor why not just buy the FX series? Same but comes with the canister system, different carb setup and upgraded HD starter solenoid. I run the FX series on my commercial mowers and they really get abused by the heat, dirt and dust. The two stage filter is a huge benefit!. Adding the Donaldson two stage filter to a FS is not recommended in mowing world unless you rejet to accommodate the increased suction resistance the two stage filter adds which makes it run rich.

      The majority of our customers are homeowners that will never own a machine long enough to need to replace the engine. No one would ever buy a new $4000 mower and then immediately remove the engine to install a $2500 FX engine. This is for residential machines that come with the FR or FS engines with the poor OEM air filter design. This kit improves that air filter to not only get more service hours out of that engine, but also get a longer life between air filter cleaning/replacement.
      It is a common myth that these kits require the carb to be rejetted, which is simply not true. Most of the people claiming that have never installed one of these kits, let alone actually done any testing to prove their theory. Although the intake tube is longer, you are dealing with a larger filter that is capable of flowing more CFM at less inches of water. These kits actually pull less than 1 inch at 3800 RPM with a clean filter. We have spent countless hours with these engines on the dyno and in real world testing to know that this kit does not require any rejetting or adjustments to the carb. We have also sold over a 1000 of these kits for the FR and FS engines all over the world and have not had one single issue with any of them.

      @@PowerEquipmentMan makes sense. I’m pretty new to carts and have a G16. I was thinking the FS motor was a swap. Absolutely unaware that the kawi FS was original equipment. Makes way more sense now! Thank you for responding back.

    • @TheSkitd
      @TheSkitd 2 роки тому +1

      That theory just doesn't make sense to me because people who are running the stock filter set up are running a dirty, filthy restrictive stock filter which is making their engine run rich. 10s of thousands of them. Just my 2 cents.

    This obviously covers up the inspection holes to view the cooling fins. Will the push pins pop back out and securely pop back in? How do we inspect the fins after installation?

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan  Рік тому +1

      Yes, the plastic push pins can easily be removed and reused as many times as needed to access the inspection holes. Just use a flat head screwdriver or body clip removal tool to pop up the center of the push pins to remove.

    • @charlesbeall2589

      I'd like to see where these push pins are and what the cooling fins look like. 🤔

    • @randysherrill3321
      @randysherrill3321 5 місяців тому

      The video shows clearly where the push pins are located. This newer style filter canister will have to be removed to inspect the cooling fins. Easy task. I like this new filter system for many reasons such as double filtration and cooler and cleaner air should enter the engine. The original OEM filter system is very close to the engine and will most likely pick up hotter air and pick up more dirty particulate.
