At first I was gonna be like "when you use venomshank on the enemies, it does 3 dmg and poison but when grifer stabbed himself, he turned into a f###### bubonic plant so why doesn't the same thing happen to the enemies" but then I realized that you're not stabbing the enemies, your send a poison wave (I think that's what it is) which explodes and poisons them.
I think it also has to do with the fact that he really, REALLY just f###ing hates your guts.
It's also possible that it's just because you aren't trying to kill them, like maybe you can control how it's used or smth.

Maybe it’s because of builderman making the voices the head making the person corrupted like cruel king getting more uncorrupted after not believing the voices so the final boss maybe builderman and we got a hint from the text “shedlesky warned me about builderman” so my theory is builder man is behind all of this

That theory is a 50/50 rn since cruel king didnt turn evil and just tried to save his people while greifer was (probably) a good kid according to mayor's dialouge with greifer.
actually, the blade didn't do shit to the griefer, he didnt even have access to it the first couple of times we encounter him, hell, most of chapter 2's story is CAUSED by him trying to get to the venomshank to acquire it. so my theory is that the reason he acted in such a manner was due to the "voice" telling him to

Honestly, I HATED THE TREE SEGMENT AND BUBONIC PLANT ON RELEASE. The fact you didn't receive any levels due to the buffed up enemies on juice meant you had to avoid them. It really made me feel like I was playing Sticker Star, where you rather just avoid enemies rather then take them on. Then once you get to griefer's crib, you don't have any healing items cuz u couldn't teleport up there, losing it to the enemies. There, the buffed up attacks (especially the venomshank buff) made you feel like you had to rely on rng and survive massive amounts of Bullshit. The boss battle genuinely felt like I was facing Sir Grodus and Bowser in one sitting, pulling a shit tons of hair lmao
someone else finally agrees with me that bubonic plant just fucking sucks as a boss, you have no idea how disappointed i was when i beat the fight because it just felt like a hollow victory regarding how bullshit the boss was
