Globe-trotting percussion ensemble Talavya bring tabla to the center stage, distilling its age-old classical spirit and practice into a high-energy, highly accessible performance. Composed by music maestro Pandit Divyang Vakil, the quartet of Rushi Vakil, Kaumil Shah, Sahil Patel and Rahul Shrimali with accompaniment by Heena Patel moves between rousing peaks and smooth meditative passages, revealing the colours of tabla.

Indian Classical Music already has a lot of treasures...no need of renovation. .....only the treasures have to be exposed and presented in a variety of ways by musicians. ....that's all!

Also... Hindustani Classical Music does not need "reinvention". It needs to preserved in its true form
The very fact that Anoushka prefers to perform abroad is a testament to the fact that we need reinvention.

Being a tabla player i can say don't look at harmonium player and look at this awesome players .....
Not sure why you said that.. Lehra is the road where a percussion travel.. Zakir sahab himself tells that sarengi or harmonium makes the road easier.

They have inspired me. They have captured my musical soul. I have seen this video countless times and love their skill and compositions. Because of this group and many others i have bought my very first set of Tabla and now carry forward on my musical journey.

I am a huge fan of Ustad Shauqat ji, a tabla maestro and Ustad Zakir Hussain ji, another great legend. I loved this group, their talent, and their enthusiasm!!

The introduction by Heena have been edited in this video. She actually provided reasoning for the statement (such as broadening its audiences, creating new markets, providing sustainability for it artists, etc). Panditji motivation was to make classical relevant for larger audiences - a recognition that music evolves with time (as has classical --> thats how the gharanas came into being) and doing so while respecting and retaining ethos and nuances of tradition.

we have had many world famous Tabla players ,classical n commercial ,like sankar ghosh ,swapan chowdhury ,allarakha ji ,keramatulla ji ,hiren babu ,samtaprasad ,bikram ghosh ,tanmoy ,sanjay mukherjee ,the great radha kanta nandy ,husband of sipra bose (sorry ,i have forgotten his name )and many others tabla players ,we have heard their playing with our the great vocal n instrumental artists ,or their solo playing ,and we r proud to see them ,but when on TV ,the camera does not show their playing style ,they show only the vocal artist in verious side of camera ,actually Tabla makes a song or instrument complete ,without tabla no body will hear any song or instrument ,still tabla is a secondclass passenger ,
My heart swells with joy and the soul soars up into the heavens when I see the young generation who have taken up our ancient art forms. God bless them all. Jug jug jiyo my dear fellows! 👌🥰🙏

Even Ustad Zakir Husain hated to be referred to as 'Ustad' while his father Ustad Allarakha Khan was alive. So, it's kind of bad in taste when this lad is referred to as Pandit. As musicians we must respect the dignity of such salutations.
Pandit is not referred to the people who played here. Its their Guruji Pandit Divyang Vakil. His son is one of the Player here - Rushi Vakil
P Das idiot...pandit is degree in music which you get after Visharad after passing the subsequent exams ....later degrees are shastri etc.

This ensemble uses elements of classical Indian music in a formal composition with spaces for variation and flare within the structure, but still a more formal structure than we've come to expect from the music. That doesn't mean it is less than happenin', but don't compare apples and oranges simply because they both grow on trees. This is a celebratory new way to approach and enjoy the tabla, but it does not in any way take away from a more traditional, improvisational accompaniment.
Do not any words for say this musics I am playing tabla but do not play very fast and my self satpal Singh form rajnandgaon my father also very much love this
