Great video, even 4 years on it's still helping visitors. We're coming to Denmark in August and have been looking out for some top-tips to help us find some good sensible tasty food options.

Hi your videos are very helpful. I have just moved to Copenhagen a month back and your videos did guide me a lot specially the one on various types of waste.

Thanks for the video! I will be going to live there for 5 years, and I’m bringing my cats with me. Do the supermarkets sell food for cats?

Yes they do but there are also specific shops for cat and dog food.

LIDL is a German shopping alternative ......so DANES very seldom will visit it ! but it is CHEAPER than all of the others !! & yes I do live in Dammark .

I shop in Lidl all the time. I feel it is becoming more popular since they have made the stores a little more smart. I recall 'discount' supermarkets like Aldi, Netto and Lidl being very basic when I first moved here but now they are regular supermarkets.

Hi, Tusind tak for the video! The price on the rugbrod was about $3 us. That's quite good! We have German Pumpernickel (Not to freak out a Dane, trust me I know it's totally not the same!!!!) here at ALDI for $2.80ea. Obviously we don't have rugbrod because I think it is a strictly Danish phenomenon. I am interested to see what the cost/availability of some of the items that I regularly purchase here in the USA. Also, are most things GMO free and organic? What is the cost difference? Here is the list: Chicken (Whole/Breasts) US Price : $1.99-2.99/lb, Beef Steak $9.99/lb, Canned Herring $2.00/150gr, Canned Tuna $1/200gr, Salmon (fresh) $13.99/lb, Broccoli $1.99/lb, English Cucumber (Organic) $2/ea, Tomato (Organic) $1.99/lb, Onion $1.29/lb, Bulk Oats (Organic) $2.49/lb, French Mustard $2/350ml, Avacado Oil Mayonaise $13.99/500ml, Olive Oil $8/750ml, Espresso beans $20/1lb.
