I just wanna say thank you for doing what you do I've been watching you for about 7 years and I would always watch your catfish videos because when I was younger me and my dad would always fish for catfish! Also thanks for the tips!
Nice video Ivo.... shows you don't always need perfect weather to enjoy fishing and be successful. Just a question on what size and type of rod would advise for this ?.... same as you do for walleyes?
you can use a longer fishing rod for steelhead and a shorter one for walleye - If I had to pick 1 rod for both species, it would be a 7 1/2 foot rod :)
@@kory1212 .I hear ya but I don't think that way anymore. Wifey and I were near Timmins Ontario fishing a remote lake we got skunked 2 days in a row in walley country when an old couple yelled to us from across the lake just to tell us to fish his lucky spot he literally tied us to his boat. That changed me

When the trout hits, you will feel the head shake at the same time, which is a different feel than the bottom - once you get a hit, you will be able to differentiate from bottom :)
If you use mono and a mushy rod it is really hard to tell the difference until you feel the head shake. But you won’t feel the head shake if you don’t set the hook. Braided line and a good sensitive graphite rod will help you detect the difference, but when in doubt just set the hook. You will learn to feel the difference after a few dozen hours on the water
@@jasonrekker4328 thanks dude! Just bought a centerpin so been using that recently… gonna try bottom bouncing with my spinning setup again eventually but im just enjoying the centerpin at the moment
@@StelmachsWorld Yeah the pin is pretty fun, bit of a learning curve but there is just something elegant about the equipment and the presentation that makes it special.
Hi Ivo...in other videos you mention that the sinker line on the t-turn should always be longer than the hook line. Why the change in this video? Or is this specific to bottom bouncing? Thanks
I have the hook line longer than my sinker line, when there is less chance of snagging bottom - If there is a high risk of snags, then I have my hook line shorter than my sinker line, so this way, only one item is dragging bottom, not two :)
I'm wondering if this would work in the St.Clair River. I've caught a steelhead on a crank and coho on worms. I've never tried spawn there. Might have to give it a shot this week.
Catching fish from the bank feels a lot more satisfying too me then in a boat. Probably because it’s more of a challenge.
Very nice catch.
I'm going with you on the next fishing trip.
Awesome

what's kind of weight are you using and what about rod power/lure ratings?
Southern Ontario has an awesome fishery

Hey ivo i got a question, when trout hit the roe is it easy to tell the difference between a bite and the sinker ticking bottom?

Is a one ounce sinker heavy enough?
Yes it is👍🎣

Antonio never turns down pie. Neither do I!
I think that's the only reason Antonio tags along is for the pie and expresso.
@@KPSoutside I also never turn down pie, espresso, OR FISHING!
How come Thundermist Lures aren't Available in Alberta?
...not sure...they definitely could be....otherwise, there is always the online option :)

Wish he would give us tour of factory and get other people to fish instead of his look at me nephew ...

Do you think the boat less angler will ever buy a boat lol
