This made up tear up because I really look up to my grandpa. My grandpa was my father-figure when my dad walked out. My grandpa has taught me everything I know about mechanics and tractors. I thank God every day for my grandpa being there for me when my own father walked out on me❤️💯

That wonderful love how the young man is helping his grandfather and interested in tractors that’s hard to find in the young generation today

Gary I hope you see and hear how much your grandfather Russell loves you. Your grandfather is not your typical bellybutton grandpa. Keep helping him even though he may not ask for it. The machines will always live on, and the memories we create with them are priceless.

My Dad bought a new MF65 tractor in the 60's when I was a young boy, ours was a gas tractor. Our dairy farm was near Belleville, Ontario, Canada.

MF 65 multi-power was ""my tractor" when I worked on the farm. Loved it.

Classic is correct! Beautiful looking Massey 65 sure is an eye catcher. I have a 1963 Massey Ferguson Gas Model 65, needs a lot of work, but it's a good old tractor. I may try to restore it in the next few years. Thanks for sharing!

Yes well, classic tractor fever is everywhere, good to see a young man into the older style tractors, and, along side his grand father, good on you. And yes I have the fever too, down here in Australia, I have a rear English Allis Chalmers D270, well rear for down here anyway.

I love both of my M-F's & use them year round & the 1st tractor I bought used is my 1959 M-F 50 with the Z134 Continental gasoline engine, That I've owned for 25 years now & I bought a brand new M-F 1526 in 2018 with a diesel engine & that 1963 M-F 65 LP is a beauty & I'm glad to hear she is still being put to work! Thank you for the story & video.

Isn't it AMAZING what a difference a man can make in a child's life? You HAVE to pass your knowledge on to the next generation if you want them to follow in your footsteps. This "kid" has a straight line to follow in his Grandpa. I know exactly how he feels......

I worked on a farm in the 80s that had a 65 gas with a Freeman loader on it. It was a handy tractor.

Is there such a thing as a Ford Ferguson? I swear my father's first tractor was a Ford Ferguson back in 1950

    • @brandonb7337

Ford and furguson were together at the beginning. The tractors had the ford engine and the furguson system hydraulic system

In 1941 not many new machines could be bought, and my father purchased a neighbour's new David Brown above cost price with the vaporising oil conversion that was necessary during WW2 when petrol was rationed. Teamed with a new Lister Cockshutt two-furrow plough it was contracted to farmers each winter, and had the luxury of head- and rear lights and self-starter on a six-volt battery. It had no hydraulic system, but our near neighbour bought a Ford Ferguson on rubber tyres and with the patented hydraulic system that powered the first Ferguson tractor in 1936 that was powered by the Coventry Climax side-valve (flathead) version of 1100 cc. That little Fergie transformed local farming methods, even on steep fields where two 56lb weights swung from the front axle to help keep it from rearing up while a plough was on the rear hydraulics.
