#Edisyn
I am Edisyn's author. Thank you very much for the love letter. It's been a fun tool to develop. And be sure to try out the hill-climber.
OMG! Thank you so much for developing the Edisyn! I have quite a few synths from the list of supported devices, and it's opened up so many possibilities! I'm planning to dig deeper into it, and I'll try the hill-climber!
This software is amazing. Havent tries it yet but looking forwats to pulling my T81 out of storage to use. Thanks dude
@@gtubgle it is an amazing piece of software, I'll make those old synth's modules scream and shine!
Hello!
Just downloaded the Edisyn patch editor and I'm trying to figure out if I'm using it correctly.
I am able to send info and modify parameters in the synth using the editor but when I request a specific patch from the Morpheus it jumps to that preset in the machine but in the editor my values remain unchanged and the instruments and filters, remain empty.
Should the Morpheus send back info to the editor and have all the parameters loaded in the editor when jumping to a different preset?
@@andreisuciu3717 The Morpheus absolutely should be sending data to Edisyn. Did you set Edisyn's incoming device to your MIDI port as well as the outgoing device? Also double-check everything indicated in the About Tab.
Used to own one of these. Had to sell it to make the rent. Regret that decision to this day. Used to to be the master of this synth. Wrote 200+ plus patches for it, still stored as sysex. Was highly familiar with all the Z plane filters and function generators and love programming this machine. Got some of the most amazing textures I've ever had from any synth ever. And I did it all on that tiny lcd screen, with all the back and shoulder pain that came with it. Lol.
This is a true original that really doesn't sound like anything else, Must pick one up when I have a bit of cash to spare. I still miss it.
That's an amazing story! I hope you will find one on a second hand market for a reasonable price, I want to hear those 200+ patches badly, I'm sure I can learn a lot from you about programming the Morpheus!
hi ,any chance of sharing some of you patches adam
great story
You can also use a program called "Morphedit" to sculpt sounds on this EMU machine, it works well. Gives you access to all parameters.
Cheers!
Yes, I used "Morphedit" on Windows XP, it's great but unfortunately I can't run it on my current computers ☹️
The Morpheus is amazing. And the Orbit and Planet Phatt both have 17 of the Morpheus Z-plane filters. Dave Rossum often mentions the Morpheus as something he's really proud of that he wishes people would have noticed. He even made a eurorack module based on the Morpheus in 2017.
Oh yes, the EMU Morpheus is a very special synth. I also have the Orbit 9090, which is a lot of fun to program. It's not as complex and feature-rich as the Morpheus, but it's much easier and faster to program from the UI. One day I’ll put my hands on that famous Dave Rossum eurorack module!
You're the hero the MPC world as usual 👌🏾. Thanks as always
I appreciate that!
Thank you very much for the suggestion to use the Morpheus with Edisyn, obviously it supports some other gear I've got, too...
You bet!
I do understand : I'm still loving my rock-solid E-Mu gears Planet Phatt and Orbit v2 !
I have Orbit v2 too!
Speaking of the Orbit 90/90 v2, does this editor work with that E-mu? (Fingers crossed)
@@bflash77 No, unfortunately!
Looking for that Proteus 2500!!
@@EvanPriceMusicChannel oh yes!
Thanks for Morpheus!
Thank you for the support!
Wow! You made some incredible patches! I always love seeing these custom patches because they can be so inspiring!
Thank you! Morpheus is a very inspiring machine to work on, specially paired with Edisyn.
@@MusicianParadise I made sure to download it. Very simple setup. Going to get everything connected and have a blast this weekend :)
@@this_connor_guy you will have for a lot of fun with it, I promise!
@@MusicianParadise I believe it!
@@MusicianParadise update. Thanks to this software editor, the Morpheus is now my favorite synthesizer! 😊
Amazing...thank you so much for the Akai key group. Programs .. HAPPY XMAS ..let’s talk in the new year ..
Thank you and happy holidays! Yes, lets make 2022 a good year!
Cool, going to try this with my mopho
Yes, edisyn supports quite a few DSI synth!
I sold my emu command station years ago. Now I’m missing it.
Command station! Great Hip Hop sounds
Just came across your video as I spent yesterday exploring my Morpheus with Edisyn. Great program indeed. Your Morpheus patches are very cool indeed. Any chance to make them available for the Morpheus? If not, any pointers welcome as I find the number of samples and filter types overwhelming. Or why not make a video of it? :-)
Awesome! Here is the link for my Morpheus patches:
drive.google.com/file/d/1enW4efik2UK7aiPj9VnUaX0x56QjfkYw/view?usp=sharing
I'll add the link into the video description as well!
One advise about filters and samples - the main discovery I made programming the Morpheus - try filter cubes first on the simplest and brightest synth waveforms like Square and Sawtooth - it will teach you a lot about the Morpheus filters and what they can do to the sound. Hope this helps!
@@MusicianParadise Thanks so much, you're a star. Very inspiring patches and will also give me ideas for exploration. 2022 will be the year of Morpheus indeed! :-)
These appear to be unobtanium at the moment. I think I’ll dip my toe in with a Proteus 2k.
Yes, very difficult to find! Proteus 2k has more of everything . Currently I’m digging the Orbit 2 - it has 17 Z-plane filters which makes it much easier to program, nice EDM ready waveforms and still can be found on sale relatively cheap.I have much more fun with it than I initially expected, it is not a boring romper!
@@MusicianParadise Good to know, re the Orbit. prices for the Proteus 2k are pretty good (though probably much higher than in the past, still as inexpensive as a Roland Boutique!).
Really cool
Thanks, I had a blast with Morpheus and Edisyn combo!
Great sounds, can I purchase these for the Ultra Proteus?
You can download those patches for free from the link in the description of this video, but I don't think it will work in the Ultra Proteus...at list you can try! Let me know if it works!
Would the lexicon alpha audio interface be right for this? Or would you recommend something else?
lexicon alpha audio interface doesn't have a midi in or midi out, so while you can record audio from the Morpheus you'll need some MIDI interface if you planning to use any software editor with your E-MU Morpheus
Don't you have to download Java first before you can use edisyn? Thanks
Yes, I think so! I did it quite a long time ago, just don't remember!
Dear Morpheus Lovers!
"Morphing Worlds" Soundset is here: ua-cam.com/video/-sniPI7mJD0/v-deo.html
With 128 Ambient/Analogue Programs.
Great sounds - I would like to purchase those patches but I can't find the link !
What about an ultra proteus?
Proteus offers a wider variety of waveforms and Z plane filter types. However, most of the waveforms in Proteus are based on acoustic instruments. In combination with many of the Z plane filters, the resulting effect is very subtle and can be hard to hear. With countless combinations of Z plane filters and waveforms, it can be overwhelming to determine which combo works best.
On the other hand, Morpheus has a smaller selection of filters and waveforms, but it includes many synth waveforms. It is easier to understand the capabilities of the Z plane filter by applying it to a bright "analog" square wave, for instance. This allows you to hear all the nuances of each filter cube so, programming the patches on the Morpheus is more enjoyable IMHO.
@@MusicianParadise Wow, Thanks for that explanation! Is the Morpheus the pinnacle of Emu or the flagship?
@@anonymous_friend I think the Ultra Proteus was the pinnacle! However, as time goes by, the Morpheus gaining some status amongst the synth heads because of the reasons I mentioned earlier.
Be cool if this would work as a plugin.
it a Java script, so no luck here. But for what is does it's an amazing piece of software
If they could somehow port it over to CTRLR... CTRLR lets you export panels as a "restricted instance" for use as stand alone or VST
@@EvanPriceMusicChannel Yes, CTRLR is very cool, but amount of hours needed to port Edisyn to another platform is huge - debugging etc. also, it not only for the E-my Morpheus but for whole family of synthesisers supported is Edisyn!
(1) Edisyn is written in Java and (2) is a sophisticated free-standing app with menus, multiple windows, and a detailed interface. Both of these things make it unable to run as a VST. So it'll stay standlone I'm afraid. [I'm Edisyn's author]
Hey maybe you can help me, just got a controller that lets you make templates for hardware. So I’m looking for all the cc numbers in the Morpheus manual but it’s not clear. I read something that says you can assign 1-33 but I couldn’t find CC anywhere and the numbers I tried didn’t match what was in the manual. Do you know what page of the manual has the CCs or do you know them?? Thanks man
CC controller implementation on any of E-Mu products is very limited - so unfortunately you can't do much with CC capable MIDI controller. Most of the E-mu synth can be ruled by sysex messages but it is a very different story all together. This is why I'm so exited about Edisyn software! Of course is not hands on experience as some MIDI controller, but you can dig really deep into the Morpheus using Edisyn.
Thanks for explaining that, pretty disappointing. I can still edit with midiquest but it just sucks when I’m working in the daw and I want to edit something.
@@robdela3632 I feel the pain!
Don’t work for the2000 right?
It might work, in the edisyn editor you can switch between morpheus e proteus so, it worth to try - the edisyn is free!
@@MusicianParadise ive tried it doesnt work... thanks anyway
@@cf9978 Ohh
@@cf9978 Edisyn has a Proteus 2000 editor as of last summer. It was a big, big job.
