- In this episode we are testing affordable and incredibly good set of vintage Carl Zeiss Jena Lenses. I am very surprised with the image these lenses produce. They have so much character and probably some of the best lenses I have ever used.

Jena (like Jehna, not Jenna) is a city in eastern Germany where Carl Zeiss is producing.
CZJ pre-war, wartime and, if you are careful, Jupiter KMZ FSU lenses are good. CA 1 is always a beautiful ride. ;o)
I had Helios 44-2 made by KMZ factory. Great build quality and good image

The name of the lenses ist not „Jena“ it’s the place where they were built. Their name is just Carl Zeiss Jena

20mm is not the most expensive they have 80mm pancolar, 50 1.4, 35-70 zoom...
20mm 2.8 is the most expensive in my set. That’s what I meant. I have 35-70mm zoom but it was made in Japan by Contax Zeiss
