    Warren, your lessons are always great. You cover so many valuable things. I have never seen anywhere on You Tube, covering such a valuable lesson as the right way to play with a bassist. Thank you both.

    amazing bass player amazing beard grower this guy is just AMAZING!!! lol it was truley an honor watching this because i love your videos ive been playing piano for about 4 years and im not the best im like a late beginner i would say but your videos have been such a blessing to my life jesus truly uses you to make these videos for us my playing has improved quite a bit while watching your videos over the months. you have made things clear and easy to understand that i wasnt able to grasp before you most certainly have a gift in teaching as well as worship bro. and i recently started learning the bass about 2 months ago so this video is kinda perfect timing its amazing to see two players of this calibre break down what it is that they are doing to make this music happen. but anyways thank you so much warren keep doing you bro blessings from florida my friend.

  • @dougiefresh__6952

    As a keyboard player playing with a bassist how low should your left hand be on the keys?

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  Рік тому +2

      There’s no rule regarding this, it’s about listening and making sure you’re not clashing with the bass. When playing with a Bassist it doesn’t mean you can’t play bass notes, it means you’re being conscious of the paying and trying not to double up or clash with the bass. Which is was you have to listen and adjust accordingly.

    Thanks for your excellent lesson!!!! As a piano player, playing jazz standards, how do you deal with a bass player who insists on playing his own chord progressions, intros, endings even on gigs! He does not follow the available chord charts provided because he likes playing by ear and adding the "cool" stuff. The result is chaotic!

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  4 роки тому +1

      If he’s not queuing you in advanced on what he’s gonna do then he’s just a terrible selfish player and soon no one will want to play with him.

    When aspiring musicians see someone Like you playing the chords and licks that you are displaying, they ask themselves, how do I follow a learning system that gets me to that level from beginning to end, and no one seems to have that method or blueprint established.

    • @PianoLessonwithWarren
      @PianoLessonwithWarren  5 років тому +3

      mystro601 thinks for watching bro. The thing is in (my opinion) there is no straight road to advance. There are pot holes along the way, detours, delays and road blocks at time.
      And that’s why you won’t find a blue print straight shot highway from beginner to advance. Music is part theory and part creativity, and while most good teachers can teach the student the theory relatively quickly. They creativity has to come from the student, and not only is that part extremely hard to teach - it requires work on the student’s part ( trials, errors, and constant experimentations)
      The good news is that all of this becomes significantly easier when you have a mentor to lead the way. If You have not yet checked out my programs yet over at pianolessonwithwarren.com I would recommended you do. The programs there definitely will take a lot of the guessing out of how to improve.
