Great video! Great setting! I have followed you channel for years, watched all your videos. Tiny suggestion for when reviewing muscular cars like this one, in this fashion: would be awesome to hear a bit more the engine. I am sure it is not easy. Thank you.
This is a nice truck. But I fear it won't be able to get out of the TRX's shadow. It even looks like it, but it lacks the v8. I fear that unless the hurricane proves to be bulletproof, it will only be rembered as a discount TRX.
First of all, this truck starts at 69k while the Raptor starts at 76k. So its already a bargain. Second of all, the RHO makes 100hp more than the Ecoboost Raptor. It isn't living in the shadow of the TRX just as the Ecoboost Raptor isn't living in the shadow of the Raptor R. The TRX is already confirmed to return and will be priced around 100k like the Raptor R. Welcome to Bidenomics.
Great review. I really like the RHO, but like most off-road trucks these days, they are too expensive. That said, was at TX motor speedway a few weeks ago for drift week. Guys from Burger tuning were there and heard them talk about their JB4 tuner for the RHO. Gives the RHO a boost of 104HP, for a total of 644HP! Merry Christmas! Subbed.
Apparently, RAM is bringing back the 5.7. 6.2, and the 6.4l V8 engines. Even if you're not a Mopar fan, it should still make you smile. And it sounds like they'll be manufacturing them back in the US as opposed to Mexico. No formal announcement, but strong rumour. Go Mopar.
@@jbountalas that guy didn’t cite any sources, and in fact looking it up what I think he is referring to is a PR piece put out by Dodge just saying that the Durango will have a 2025 model year including the 5.7and 6.2 powertrains. No mention of the 6.4 for some reason and nothing about how the Hemis are coming back in any larger fashion. So just an extension of the Durango production for another model year. Don’t get me wrong I wish there more substance to suggest this might be the case but it really doesn’t look like it. Dodge is just doing what Dodge has done now for the past 3-4 years by extending production with more “final” special editions.
@jb… I spent 6 minutes of my life watching a hairy guy with furry face insisting that the HEMI is coming back and Dodge confirmed it without providing ANY EVIDENCE that being true. Then I spent another 20 minutes for trying to find such evidence and found none. Sure it would be great if the HEMI would come back. I THINK and HOPE that it’s a possibility but as of this moment there is zero evidence of it.
Damn that looks fun. Sadly RAM has screwed up the ordering process for the RHOs, mine was ordered in July and still not built, while newer orders are being fulfilled. RAM needs to pull their heads out and fix this.
I ordered mine in July as well and nothing as of yet. Did you order the base trim like me? I heard they are building the orders that had the maxed out options added first and putting the base trim orders on the back burner.
Rebel has "standard" selec-terrain AWD besides e-locker, this RHO should have it too... I seen even 35k base 4x4 Ram Classic without lsd pull out from rollers on single front wheel ohh i'm sorry yes you mention that i didn't even noticed at 1st 11:16, i like it's responsiveness, maybe just maybe it's almost as good as a-trac 🙂
It really doesn't sound that bad on the dunes... a lot better than I thought it would. NOT a Hellcat V8 or anywhere close, but not a deal breaker bland v6 drone either.
honestly if anyone is serious about off roading you take the inline 6 over the heavier V8 and if you are serious about using a pick-up as a pick-up the Hurricane is superior to the Charger engineered Hemi.
Not a bad test, a good truck. However, I think that testing in an unloaded state is not very indicative. Such a large engine power can manifest itself in difficult conditions, which will be more practical and indicative than an easy walk through the dunes. But if it were a family trip of four with a full trunk and a trailer, through snowdrifts and drifts (and not a snow "storm", which is often called only the process of snowfall itself!), then it would be both more spectacular and more practical. And for a trip through sand or pebbles, you take a motorcycle from one of them and go.
Is it just me or are these off-road/baja trucks a better value than the normal 1/2 tons. I mean yeah 58 for a ranger raptor up to 100 plus for the Raptor R, with the RHO in the middle, is a boatload of money, but considering their capabilities compared to the run of the mill half-tons, which themselves can bump up against 75 or 80 for some trims, these don’t seem that bad. IMO the Ranger Raptor is still the best bargain going in trucks right now. If you can get past the markups, which you can if you put enough effort into it.
I currently have the Ranger Raptor and I know you do as well. My question is, would you personally trade your Ranger Raptor for the RHO? I’ve previously had a Ram Limited and loved the interior, ride, etc. As mentioned I currently have the Ranger Raptor and love the sports car type drive and am pondering if the trade is worth it.
It does look good and I do not necessarily mind the inline 6 approach, but it is still like 600lbs heavier than the Raptor which is not insignificant especially when constantly bouncing through whoops and the like.
LOL, "It's a bonafide rock crawler"; "now you don't have a front locker". Do you even hear yourself? Any "bonafide rock crawler" by definition would require both front and rear lockers. Seriously man, it doesn't even have a front Torsen.
Cheaper than the Ecoboost Raptor, makes 100hp more than the Ecoboost Raptor, has a better interior than the Ecoboost Raptor, and has 150lbs less weight on the nose compared to the TRX. This is a massive win. The TRX is already confirmed but sadly, it will be priced up there with the Raptor R around 100k.
I'd rather have this truck offroad than a TRX. SC V8 trucks are so front end heavy they suck offroad unless your just doing sand drags or something. They jump like crap.
I like Ram, but I'd never get a performance truck that has a turbo V6. That engine will be cooked after a few years. At least Ford and GM still have V8 options.
I’m excited to drive this $88k truck to the Carhartt factory outlet store.
Don’t forget that mall parking lot brother. Show them how it’s done
@ That’s the next stop after Starbucks.
Thanks!
Slow down there, brother give your wife a heart attack😂 that looks super fun! Another awesome review and the very best picture quality as always.
Amazing review! I heard some people say that "TRX" stands for T-rex, and "RHO" stands for Rhino
I've also heard "Remove Hellcat Option"
Man, I want one. My ‘19 Rebel has been an amazing truck but this thing is next level.
Great review! Love your channel - keep it up!!
Wow Ryan your rock crawl footage using drone is the best I've seen from any of the UA-cam channels !
I'm missing V8 burble. Rest of this truck is awsome. Merry Christmas to You Ryan. Greetings
The real test is to do that route in late July. Very much appreciate the desert setting.
This in a single cab short bed would look awesome

“Rebel High Output”
Those truck a selling for 132 000$ canadian right now at dealers WTF
😬
Another reason for the 51st state status. 😃
it's not your market, complaining about it won't change anything
I get paid above average in a wealthy country and I couldn't afford this thing in 20 years. What the heck is going on

Instead of RHO with "no meaning", they could do RHN for Rhino?
Yeah until 400 or so miles hit and you get misfiring check engine light and bad catalytic converter melting. I'm so bummed truck is only 3 weeks old.
Is this happening to you? I’m wondering if these will be reliable compared to their past not so reliable vehicles?
Yes you get a lot of truck for the money, though most people also don't need a truck to begin with.
great video......what color was the rho u were driving...
now i need this truck.
Are you able to test the last year of the Nissan Titan pro 4x which is 2024? Just to see what they have sent it off Into the sunset with?!
Unfortunately, Nissan doesn’t have any Titans available for testing.

It's cute.
Unfortunately the build quality on any of the stelantis owned companies is questionable
In the past YES
Now, NO. Greatly improved…
Meaning in the truck segment
Wait, RAMs have zoom now?
Why do rams have zoom?
Neutered TRX 😂
At $87,000 I don’t even want to get mine dirty. You can drive it like that because you didn’t pay money for it.
Very nice but I would buy the Ranger Raptor.
