I love you you said it “to help communicate things that are true about God”
That whole line was absolutely awesome and thanks for sharing your heart

I have played and own a ton of OD pedals. If I could only have one, it would be an Ibanez TS-9. If I could have two, it would be a TS-9 and a JHS Morning Glory. Those two will cover everything!

I've heard some stuff about the mid range on Tube Screamers. What say you?

Without watching an actual EQ display showing the difference between on and off, I couldn't tell you what was being boosted, but I'm told they boost the mids. Whatever they do, they do well, and I always have a TS circuit on my board.

I use a Morning Glory as always on (almost) and a TS-9 for boost every Sunday. I hope to be adding a JRAD Archer soon.

Cool video man. Gotta quick question. I’m looking for my first overdrive pedal so do you have any recommendations. I want the pedal to be quite versatile. Thank you

If that ending doesn’t start Psalm 23 at some point, all of heaven will be disappointed.

    "We're singing songs to Jesus..."
Proceeds to play chord progression to Adam Sandler's Channukah song. Lol.

What is your thoughts regarding modelling amps. I have a Marshall Code 50 it has majority of effects peddles built in but I guess it’s not an analogue pure sound so not good for everyone.

My advise would be to get the guitar that stimulates you to play and fits you first, it needs to feel right and you need to enjoy spending time with it. Then, once you get a guitar that feels right you can tailor the sounds coming out of it through various ways, you can use an eq pedal to mimic the sound kind of a semihollow for example, that can be accomplished for as low as 30 bucks if you go with a behringer pedal, also you can upgrade your pickups to get you closer to what you want to sound from the get go, thinking of the GRG270DX as an example you can get splittable humbuckers and get both SSS and HSH combinations. Specially if you are on a budget, getting a guitar that you get to know really well, plus some strategic pieces of gear will get you to sound however you like, or close enough so non guitarists don't notice the difference.

If it helps, until I sold that particular guitar I played most services with a PRS singlecut loaded with seymour duncan black winter pickups, pretty much the opposite of worship sounds and I was able to make it work, although different techniques might require adaptations. Get some good pickups, an eq pedal, the juiciest guitar you can afford comfortably and you are all set.

Powered or unpowered kemper? How are you monitoring it?

    • @TheWorshipInitiative
      @TheWorshipInitiative  5 років тому

Unpowered. For the video we are monitoring through studio speakers.

The Worship Initiative sounds so good! Which monitors you using? I had some JBLs but got rid of them because they sounded awful. Like there was a blanket over the tone. Any that you would recommend? Did you push the volume quite a bit on the speakers to get a good sound?

      @@JonKaneshiroGuitar Howdy,
I personally at home use Presonus Scepters. This video was recorded just xlr into protools. Not into any speakers that were mic'd at all.
      Hope that helps.
