For those curious, I just installed these on my '22 trd off road and it really was as easy as this vid makes it seem. Only "tricky" part was I had to use a little more force than I thought I would to remove the stock housing, and make sure your 10mmm socket is long enough to reach the 2 nuts on each side. Very very happy with this purchase/install, took about 7 minutes total.
I definitely just snapped the black plastic clips on the bottom of mine. Mine took more force on my 2021 but thankfully the screw and nut do most of the work of securing the housing.
I installed these on my 2020 pro about a month ago. Also installed the new XB AMBER DRL headlights. Now I've got amber sequential turn signals front and back. These things look amazing.
Those look great especially on that color 4Runner. I just picked some up for my white TRD Pro. Hopefully they look as good as that. Really great video, thanks.
Got mine yesterday, took me and my 10 year old like 7 minutes total lol I was totally staring back at it after parking this morning at work haha. Also got headlights, GTR Carbide. Hope they are fairly easy to get in this weekend 😍🙌
A little tip for yall, put a small smudge of putty on the inside tip of the socket so that the nut does not fall into your inside well of the 4runner. I use 3M strip caulk thar I got on amazon
I had the same concern when watching videos before I bought mine but the reverse lights are super bright. Everything morimoto puts out is top notch brightest lights on the market. I got the morimoto xb headlights with the amber drl, morimoto xb led fog lights, and now the morimoto taillights for my 4runner and it transforms the entire truck and wayyyy brighter all around
I installed these tail lights on my 2011 4runner. The backup lights are bright however, they project the light high and level. Due to this, there is a black hole at the hitch and back a few feet. The license plate light helps with this area. I resolved by installing Diode Dynamics SS2 rear bumper lights.
What is the depth/length of your 10mm socket? Mine are too short and I want to make sure I buy the right one before I install. Great video! I’m excited to do this upgrade!
These lights have a defect right out of the factory. I have replaced them 3 times without a fix. When you install these you will see right away there is a mismatch in the brightness of the passenger side tail light and the driver side tail light. It looks super ghetto at night . But I have just lived with it because when the lights aren't on in the day time they look way better than stock.
@@aryacyrusmortazavi1514 In the video, the sun was shining from the passenger side of the vehicle. Also, bright LED’s and camera’s sometimes don’t get along. @@TrailGridPro thanks for the reply! i have the same color/style as yours and just ordered the same taillights after watching your video…thanks for the great video and confirmation!!

Love my XB headlights although they were definitely not plug & play on the 2021... had to get creative with wiring and lost the ignition sequence in the process, but I don't mind.
Such great news! So glad our video was helpful for you! Oh, yea … it’s tough to get the Morimoto heads to run on 21’s. I’m sure they’ll have a solution for ORP’s, OR’s, and SR5’s soon! There’s an adapter for Pro & Limited owners but that’s it for now. Anyway, thanks again for your kind feedback and hope you love them!
I purchased this, great product! However I struggle putting the new morimoto tail lights on my 4runner and I broke the 2 clip at the bottom of the panel. I was then able to place it properly I think? Lol after 45mins. I just screw it tightly. I think itll be okay even tho the bottom clips break. Should I replaced those clips to ensure the tail lights wont fall out or come loose?
Thank you for this video, I wanted to see what they would look like and install process. What tires are you running? They look great! Would you recommend them?

@@TrailGridPro no worries, every video I've seen people struggle pulling these out. I eventually got mine out but it was a pain. I'm guessing they come out easier since you guys have probably pulled it out multiple times from the same vehicle.
2022 TRD Pro here. Same problem. Had to use a hammer and bar to lightly tap them out after taking off 10mm bolts and unplugging harness. It's the rubber grommets that the 3 pins slide into that get stuck when they're new from factory. My 2020 SR5 had no issues and just slid right out.
