  • How to Make a Workbench
All my woodworking happens in my garage and space is limited, so I built a workbench that fits my needs.
Click this link to subscribe to my channel bit.ly/1PtWJEd
Find the Workbench plans here gumroad.com/diycreators
I can fold it up when I'm not doing woodwork. This bench is made from 2x4s, Plywood, and a few nuts and bolts.

I like that you show and talk about your mistakes. Not many creators do that and when you do it makes the rest of us feel like mistakes are OK. Great build!

musicguru73 my thoughts exactly. I can't begin to express how many times I've messed up on something and had to adapt or start over. But with most creators, things seem to go perfectly and that seems unrealistic. It's nice to see some be honest about a mistake and then move on.

100% agree! One bold on one side and two on the other. "I don't know why." Awesome! A very honest video and I enjoyed it very much. Makes me feel like I can build a table like this. Thank you.

I don't usually post messages but felt I should here. I made this bench for my brother in laws and it's great. so good I made myself one too. very sturdy, outs held 350+ lbs for me with no issue. much thanks to the maker four sharing. one tip, I don't have a band saw so I used a chop saw and cut the rounded corners at 45 and then 22.5 and sander them round with a sander. worked perfectly. Thanks again!

Nice! Love it when you include the 'learning' experiences. Makes me feel like less of an idiot when I do it myself, even planing out each step. LOL -- built two tables last fall, and had similar issues. Improvise, adapt, over come! The nice thing is we're the only ones that will notice them, almost everyone else just says it looks great.

I've looked at a lot of folding workbench videos to find one that is easy to build, and which I would be able to use indoors inside my shed for small jobs, or move outdoors for the bigger, messier jobs. Your plan combines all the best features that I've seen so far, so I decided to go with it and have already started building. Thank you for a very informative, practical video that was a pleasure to watch.

This is what seperates this guy from other channels. He shows his work and is very good at explaining his cuts and measurements for beginners. For beginners, that is so helpful.

I know it's been more than two years, but I'm glad this is still up. This is by far my favorite mobile workbench idea I've seen so far (and will probably be the basis upon which I create my own). I have a very small work area, and it needs to be put away every night I use it, as it's my back patio. This workbench fits the bill rather nicely.

I built this with a few modifications. It cam out AMAZing. I love your videos. So far I've built the Murphy bed and this table, both with a few modifications. Made the table wider and added a middle support 2x4. Modified the bed for my officer closet with 2 towers, shelved, no drawers. I love your work and you inspire my creativity.Thank you Glen.

I'm a beginner and when I get more confident I'm going to make this. I like your weight bearing test. I can only do a few pushups so I'll have to dance on it instead. Thank you for keeping it simple. Eyeballing a measurement works better than a tape measure in many cases, I'm learning. Your instructions don't include anything that is unnecessarily complicated and the end result is really nice. Someday when I make this I"ll send you a picture. Thank you!!

This workbench works well for me. I have limited space too and having the ability to work in my limited space and take it outside to work on projects is important. I am also a build simple guy and I watched a lot of other videos but this one worked for me. I know there are more efficient ways to build things, but I like the freedom of figuring it out as I go.

Hey Buddy, thanks. We just sold a home and left two benches pretty much identical to this one. I purchased them at Lowe’s or Home Depot for about $120.00 (each), so it’s helpful to now have some plans so I can make some new ones at a huge discount and exact sizes we need for our new home.

Great video, a really good solution to a very real issue. I suspect there are more woodworkers, home mechanics and all-round DIY practitioners that have small and I don't mean 20' x 30', workshops, than some of the super ones that we all wish we had space for. Thanks for taking the time to put this vid together, it's very much appreciated.

Awesome job! Liked the jumping on and push-ups stress test. Funny. Have to see if it's going to hold up right? Perfect fold-away and carry design. If I made this I'd follow your exact design with one mod. Extend a 2" perimeter lip on the table top. You never know when you have to speed clamp something down - with a nice square corner. Of course you could put that same 2" perimeter extension directly under the table top so it still stood on it's side. Cut outs on the bottom perimeter extension so you could fit your clamps in. It wouldn't be as pretty as what you built. But possibly a little more functional. Thanks again for the video. Great work!

Love the fact that you show everything including mistakes. That makes your videos more relatable and your projects less intimidating to most.
However, I'm not sure how heavy the whole thing is but I would probably use heavier anchors to secure the handle to the frame. Just my observation. Great video nonetheless!

Very nicely done. The design is nice and compact and easy to carry especially with the handle you added. For me not quite a mediocre' builder I understood it too. Thanks so much for sharing.
