The Chad and Lupita private relationship is definitely real. I do believe it started as an emotional relationship. Upon examination of his response to their onscreen chemistry (and then examine hers) here is what was learned (remember he says this fluently with no trepidation or hesitation even tho he 'supposedly' has a girlfriend): He answered,"Are you trying to say we're dating?" (Dating her is at the top of his mind and he never denied the construct) he then said It's not hard to fall in love with Lupita (He literally said that he loves her then in the next response explains why and confirms that yes they were dating during the making of the film)...Now of note is the fact that he never yielded to his girlfriend or said he a Lu were just good friends. A man in love with his girlfriend would of said,"well I have/had a girlfriend etc. instead he yields to Lupita. Thus a emotional will lead to physical if it already (obviously) hasn't.

I have seen so many romantic movies and have never felt that love between two characters before who were only suppose to be known as Co stars or just friends. Chadwick’s eye movements while answering about Lupita give away much about his feelings. According to visual accessing cues, when Chadwick looked down and to the left (our left) while saying “Are you trying to say we were dating?”, it showed that he was recalling the feeling associated with dating as eye movement in that direction corresponds to remembering feelings of the aforesaid question. They might have been on a date or two, or would definitely like to!
He did so again while saying, “it’s not hard to fall in love with Lupita” and that strongly suggests genuine feelings for Lupita. He fancies her.
Similarly, eye movement up and to the right while saying “when you see them in their light” suggests he was recalling her in the best that he’s seen her. All in all, it’s safe to say that the love bug has bitten!

He gave you the opportunity to avoid this trap by saying " You are not that good of an actor". You could have just said: "Yes I'm that good and I've mastered my craft". Instead you dove head first in that muddy water talking about love, lupita qualities. Phew! I was sweating, I thought you were going to make an announcement. By the way lupita and you need to organize your answers. To the similar question, she started babbling, I really enjoyed that. Anyway perfect examples for my psychology students.
