You do not cast people and hope for the best. Smart casting requires chemistry testing before a panel.
SParkApCider ...some directors don't care as long as it comes across on screen, some studios don't afford the luxury because it can be a luxury depending on the budget, too. Like rehearsals which I've recently heard is becoming something that studios are affording less time for actors in more recent movies.
But like you said a smart production will make chemistry testing a priority.

He is not a pretty boy, but he has good charisma. Great smile, good body and pretty intelligent and enlightened man. There is more to attraction than just superficial physical attributes.
