I love your know-how, your careful research, your thoroughness and also good humour. I so very much enjoyed watching the two part two post lift installation videos. It’s quite something to be competent in such a range of situations / operations. Christian, your justified self-belief remains me of my foster father. He missed much formal schooling because of the Second World War, but by wars end, he knew how to do many things from electrical and mechanical engineering as well as early electronics, because he had been selected to be a junior assistant to some very able people working on radar. Much later, he & his wife both signed up to The Open University in U.K. and took both foundation classes then university degrees in their chosen subjects. They were in their fifties when they took me on as a sullen teenager. They were such good parents to me and also role models which, to this day, is beneficial not only to my approach to life, but positively coloured my own parenting style. Because my adult children know there’s no such thing as impossible, only “I don’t yet know enough to decide how to improve this situation”, this attitude rolls on into the way our grandchildren are being raised. My foster father would, I am sure, have been a subscriber to LR Time! Thank you, Christian and Vera for the enjoyable and educational content!
I am so pleased to watch these videos. I love how Christian thinks 'how can I improve on standard', 'can I build in more safety or strength'. Very well done to you both.
Superb engineering, superbly installed. I can feel your satisfaction at having planned and built it all so well. Well done! Trying to find a garage/shop with a pit these days is very difficult. If you have a problem with squeaky suspension and you need to look underneath the car while somebody rocks it, a car lift is not ideal as it not only difficult to rock the car while it is off the ground, but the car lift will start to rock as well! Ideally, you need a pit so that someone can be in it and hear exactly where the suspension is squeaking while somebody else rocks the vehicle from ground level. Then you need a car lift to more easily replace the defective part. Now Christian and Vera, you have both!
I paid multiple times more for a MAHA 10k, 2 post lift that the company installed. The quality, care, precision and skill of your installation blows away the professional installers. Amazing Job from an incredible team.
First Class workmanship Christian and Vera, when the lift manufacturer sees this episode they might offer you a job as their official lift installer in your area, thanks for another interesting and informative show
Get a couple of patio umbrella rain covers or put Veria’s sowing skills to good use and make some zipmup or velcro canvas post covers to keep the posts out of the worst of the weather 👍
Fantastic video and you guys are first class. I was thinking, finishing touches of some hanging flower baskets on the outside of the pillars would finish the look 😂.
Great install. Looking forward to part 3 where Vera makes long waterproof covers like 'socks' to go over the posts to keep them all nice and covered up when not in use. Just like the material bags she makes for her spares and tools etc. 👍😁
Great example for the way a German engineer thinks and works! Every aspect of this project is accounted for and you improved the design by setting it flush and installing a drainage system. Whenever I struggle with my LR3 and my doubts are about to end in posting another ad to sell the car I watch your video and the world is at piece again… Danke schön ❤️
One two poster vehicle hoist, "expertly installed", great work once again from Christian with a little supervision from Vera. Lovely job folks, now we can look forward to some more LandRover fixing. I'd really like to have a hoist in my driveway but because I sold my LandRover and bought a Toyota it'd just go rusty.
I laugh whenever I hear an OMG from Vera. I appreciate your very German (detailed, to the spec) way of doing things. I'm the same way. Perhaps its in the genes. I'm a proud German-American descendant from Oldenburg.
You guys are so funny together ... the one line comments... and the random "OMG". 😅 Its the accent also of course. The truthful mistakes that happen that makes it so genuine.. we will take the body off when engine blows up.. hahahah🤣. your accent reminds me of my grandpa....He was from munich .. Was in ww2 Obergruppenfuhrer .
Make sure you keep the Acme threads in the uprights well greased Christian and be sure to use the correct grease as specified by the lift's manufacturer. I had 2 Bradbury lifts in my workshop and the Acme nuts do wear out eventually if you use the lift a lot, the correct grease will add years to the life of the nuts compared to ordinary general purpose grease. For the Bradbury lift they specified Castrol MS2 grease, it was quite fluid and the type of grease often used in automotive CV joints
Wasn't there a white stuff called Thelson grease for these. I recall the weight of heavy trucks on the 80's Bradbury lifts could rotate these nuts and lower the vehicle on its own if the wrong grease was used.
Hats off to this family. Christian reminds me of my father. He was math teacher but knew all kind of stuf. There is so much knowledge written in the books or available on the internet that majority of people can do some serious work in diy manner. Growing up and hanging around my father I also learned to do all sorts of repairs, building jobs etc. In this day and age, that sort of skils and knowledge is priceless. Once again bravo to LR TIME team, keep up with the good work 👏
These two crack me up! I assume Christian is an engineer as he displays great attention to detail and precision with all aspects of the build. On a side note.....did you see all that wood! :) They are prepping for the gas shortages this winter!
Great work and excellent installation, Vera & Christian. And from now on, the German TUV has to visit you annually and check the structural integrity and safe function of your car lift and the BG will check you workshop for safety. And you will need an oil separator in your water drain line. 🤣🤣🤣
Installing a hi lift at home.... Oh god why do other people have all the fun ? 😅 Excellent video C&V! Christian is a proper nerd. We claim him as ours without any fear or favour.
I was raised in Kitzingen and Schweinfurt Germany as an Army brat. I've been to Darmstadt many tymes. Rarely see out door lifts here in TX cause of the extreme weather changes and tornadoes
Guten abend Vera & Christian 😀 We pay £159 in the UK 🇬🇧 too watch live tv and it’s absolutely awful 😫 If you don’t pay and watch live tv you could go to jail 😮 But LR time on a Sunday is the very best program to watch any day of the week 🤩 Have you had your hair done Vera…….🤔 That two post lift is the very best instalment I’ve ever seen 😁 Looking forward to seeing a LR body lifted off on it to see how easy and efficient it is when working on a LR 🤔 Take care both of you 👍🏻 love Stevie for Vera 😘 x
And there was I saying how are you going to get the jeep in to the shed I should have known it was all ready in the books 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍well done fantastic job 👍👍👍
Wow. Wow. Wow. 👌. Another excellent videos. You two guys are amazing 👏. I have been waiting for this one, to see how the lift project come an end. But Christian you must be trouble. How dare you say "if this lift can lift you it can definitely lift a Discovery. " ha!ha!ha!🤣🤣🤣🤣 . I was in stitches. I just laughed my lungs out. To Vera, please stick an LR Time sticker on Christian's forehead . 😆😅😂. I always enjoy watching your videos, not only from a DIY perspective, but just seeing two love birds 🦜❤❤🦜 working collaboratively as a team with loads of fun. Keep up guys. I really love it. Christian and Vera, I can't wait for the next one. Have a wonderful week. See you next Sunday.
That's brilliant Christian and Vera, i'm so jealous of your lift . Can't wait to see it action , it's going to make your repair/maintenance so much quicker , and give you guys more time for yourselves and the boys . Vera the patch you got from from Australia is the wrong way up , it should be upside down lol
Perfekt. Konstruktiv wie handwerklich einfach allererste Sahne. Dickes Kompliment! Perfect. Construction wise and craftman wise simply top notch. Big compliment! 👍 👍

Nice to see that Christian is not only a Textbook Engineer, he can do also Concrete and paving. So now I have seen Vera's LR3 on the Lift I am not more concerned about my one it's just the Color that is missing underneath, not corrosion.
I came across your channel because of your review of the Ineos. No real interest in Land Rovers before. Honestly, you’ve created a real gem of a channel. Keep up the good work.
Great video! You can probably guess my favorite parts, the red arrow pointing out to not do what you just did, and then the rectangular wood casting that you couldn't get around the post. Very funny, I actually laughed out loud.
So pleased to see that you chemset the anchors on your lift. I used the stupid chinesium wedge anchors supplied with mine and they kept slipping. So I had to install an extra floor bracket and chemset that.

Yes definitely before the rain season starts. Christian

I'm impressed by Christian's attention to detail. With the ivory colour paint you now have the sexiest looking 2 post lift in the world 🙂
Hi Christian and Vera brilliant work .
It is good to see a job being done so well with no "that's good enough" attitude. 👍👍🙂
I laugh whenever I hear an OMG from Vera. I appreciate your very German (detailed, to the spec) way of doing things. I'm the same way. Perhaps its in the genes. I'm a proud German-American descendant from Oldenburg.

@@raycollington4310 The grease the manufacturer advises should be used I agree.
Vera showed commonsense on where to installed the vehicle lift unlike Christian. Well done, Vera!!👋👋
Brilliant. Now Vera’s car’s engine will go on forever and never need the body off!
I love this couple. Watched just 45 seconds and subscribed already. The commentary is awesome 👏

These two crack me up! I assume Christian is an engineer as he displays great attention to detail and precision with all aspects of the build. On a side note.....did you see all that wood! :) They are prepping for the gas shortages this winter!
We don't heat with gas. Here in Germany, timber has to dry for 2 to 3 years before you are supposed to burn it.
You've completed the work I wanted for years. But glad I didn't do it, I moved 3 times lol. I need this installed in my driveway
Vera: - Yes, I've had that lecture two or three times already. Love it, love it!!

They are here rare too. Very nice in the summer but rough in the winter. Not to compare with TX for sure.
