A lot of people seem to be confused if these songs are religious or not. I can't speak to that (I didn't write them) but I can say with full confidence you can be an artist and glorify god by creating all kinds of music. (It doesn't have to be religious in meaning) just like other professions in life can be used to glorify God. Just had to put that out there. LOVE THIS SONG BY THE WAY.
THANK YOU! Just because a song doesn't say "jesus" or "god" or anything that is technically "religious" doesn't mean it can't glorify god. I hate this huge gap between secular and sacred. God made this world and the people in it. God is bigger than our religious terms and the walls we put up.
This music video reminds me of Plato's cave analogy - he's in a tunnel with only the shadows of trees then finally comes out into the sunlight and sees the real, beautiful world that God created. It's not explicitly religious, but it's saying that our naturalistic view of life is a long way off - and what's implied is that we live in a teleological universe with a beautiful God. Love it.
Love this song. I like how even though the verses are about how we don't really have God "figured out" as much as we often boast, the end is a beautiful prayer about rest and peace. Two different types of openness.
This video reminds me so much of Rich Mullins writings about ... invisible things. And there are invisible things. Like the light behind the earth that casts a shadow of it, a shadow we call night... like the sap that runs with some wildness of life in the veins of trees that we see as dead... like the impulse behind the act... like the silence inaudible behind the noise... Like all the beyond - too great to be fit into the lenses of our high-powered telescopes and microscopes, as close to us as the ocean is to fish, too present to be discovered (or even discoverable), a thing of which we are a part and apart from which we cannot be ourselves - invisible things... Rich Mullins
I really enjoy this song, and what it says. The video is a little strange at first time but it is really cool. I made a parody of this videoclip, i really enjoy you guys. =D
I think there might be some symbolism behind him wearing glasses and a book at the beginning and having them off at the end. I think it alludes to the "smartest men" but i don't know why he would take them off... :/

+sailorginger if I'm correct the book of Esther doesn't mention God

Wow, neat. Thanks for sharing this! :) *looks up the lyrics to study and analyze* xD
Thanks! I love Gungor. It's poetic music - and very fun to analyze.

Where Lisa at? I like her. >.
The thing I hate the most about this video is that it's a shorter radio edit. Other than that, it's not a long way off from perfection.
They used the instrumental for this song in my workplace's online harassment & discrimination prevention class LOL
