In order for something to be retconned it has to be canon in the first place.
But episode one is canon?? And the characters and lore comes from that, no?
To my understanding as the term Sith is a title / rank within the Dark Side force users it could be that they are correct a Sith is not around but an Acolyte to become one is around?
I suppose it depends on who is the actual Acolyte in the story, is it supposed to be Mae or is it her Master. Can't really tell but I think you're right - I don't think we're necessarily dealing with a proper Sith
I dont think anything is lore breaking, that part doesn't bother me. I feel the writing, the acting, dialog, the decisions, the fact they tell whats going on so much and no show. These things have been really bad and its hard to like it for this reason, it seems very amateur like
Yeah, there isn't a whole lot to like really lol. Some of the ideas have potential but I agree this is a really lacklustre show so far
They could have went for the 1000 year old before the Sith problem but no. Why go there with all the open story? Let's destroy what exists much sooner that's cooler? They had the chance to do that but decided to destroy what has been established? Why? Seems they had a chance to make an original story but decided they had to attack those that came before. Literally had a blank page but choose to write over an existing one. Just lazy people with no vision.
That's exactly the thing. Why do it? Setting a show in an era that gave them virtually free reign to tell a brand new story with completely original characters... wasted
