I’m so sorry about Blueberry he was such a cute little guy. I watched when you brought him home.watch your daughter work with him. I’m really sorry. I lost my Joey 7 months ago. This is what they( vets )said they thought he had the same thing. They took him over nite and called me in the morning. He was gone The only thing my Joey chewed on nothing that i saw. And he didn’t lose weight he gain it .Hope your daughter is ok .sending love and hugs ❤
I have two naked blue and gold macaws. Jessie and Oliver. Both my adorable girls are rescues. Jessie is originally from the LV cobweb crew bonded with Cowboy my Greenwing. I love my rescue kids. Nice to see one in your video. So many people overlook the naked ones. Beautiful to see this 😊
That's what I was thinking! I clicked because it was another parrot of the same type as Cheyenne with the same problem (which had me thinking of Snake Discovery from the jump). But as soon as I saw those green walls, I was thinking "That's Snake Discovery! They're filming at Snake Discovery!" 😃
Y’all’s metal T stand is 435$??? 😩 C’mon now. I love you guys and I watched you for 2 years non stop before I got my first bird a couple years ago, but Jesus. That’s way too much!
I thought I was the only one when I saw the price! 🤣🤣 I made mine for under $10 🤣😂 all metal , sturdy T stand , and on lock wheels if it needs to be moved it rolls real smooth 🤣
To the owners of Zoey. Have you looked into hormonal issues causing the feather damage/plucking. Granted I only watched 15 minutes or so of Zoey… but I see a VERY hormonally charged bird. (And not all hormones mean sex)… just putting it out there
I have a question Jamie/birdhricks In all my years watching you guys Why don’t you guys ever train hyacinth macaws I’ve see. Like one video I think but that’s it ???? Anyone else wondered
Only time will tell, and it depends on the condition of the follicle at this stage too which a vet would be able to evaluate best. For general plucking behaviors you want to increase humidity, use aloe in your spray baths, feed a healthy diet, offer frequent bathing opportunities and check the environment for any toxic items.
I tried to teach the spin trick to my Amazon. He ended up getting frustrated and lunged at me! And also made a horrific frustrated screech sound in the process! I think he was afraid of how the stick was placed vertically too. As an amazon he's easily overstimulated and excited, which can turn into aggression. He targets well but he just gets so impatient and easily frustrated. I'm too scared to attempt the spin trick again! Any pointers?
You could try teaching it with luring instead, where you simply hold a treat in your hand and you could even ask him from below the perch instead of above his head. So hold the treat downwards and deliver it to the side, a little further, then once the bird turns half way and then eventually all the way around. Luring takes more repetition but he can still learn it that way and not feel as hovered over from above.
He’s so tiny! It’s amazing how much “size” the feathers give.
Right?!

Very cute looking 😊
Such a cutie! So glad he’s with a new family that clearly loves him. Will all his feathers grow back???

I really noticed the difference between training on a larger surface compared to a smaller they concentrate on you more on you when on smaller😂
"Minimizing the variables" works in computer troubleshooting, too!
WOW WHAT A SPECIAL NICE BIRD, THANK YOU FOR SHARING, GREETINGS AS A HOBBY 👍👍🥰
Thank you very much!
