I’m probably in the minority, but I’ll always loves these types of houses over the mansions and hospitals and factories. Especially because of comments like you make about her last tea, the last time she cooked... these videos have emotion. :)

Yeah, especially when it comes to houses like this one with all the belongings left behind, laying intact, the opposite of public places that usually end up ransacked and vandalized from top to bottom.

You also have to take into consideration that she was about 90 when she died, which would mean that her kids were also pretty old. At their age a lot of people want to get rid of stuff they don't need so that the can move to a smaller and more managable place. Everyone does not have space to save all the belongings, who knows they might have taken stuff they wanted but we wouldn't notice that.

My husband grew up in a very tiny 1 bedroom and a very small room made into another bedroom home. The kitchen had a sink with small sink board, fridge, stove and small table set. His parents raised 6 children and 2 Native American children who had no home (no system yet for abandon Native American children). All the children turned into stable happy adults. We know of families now that have 5 and 6 children living in tiny old travel trailers. Enjoyed the explore, beautiful hand crochet work that the lady may have done. Thank you for sharing!

I just started watching all the abandoned home videos on youtube. This is the only channel I subscribed to simply because of the respect Lesley has for the personal belongings of the people that once occupied these homes. As well how he is so passionate in guiding us through a time capsule while he explains in detail never rushing to create a story of life that was once there. The music always tasteful ,the cameraman (sorry don't know his name) so professional with a slow steady guide throughout the entire tour.
So sad reminds me of when I go into estates purchasing items from clothing to light fixtures, lamps, costume jewelry etc most of the time dealing with their children or family members, real estate agents etc.Not all the the time but enough it's so sad when I enter a home of an elderly person which is a complete mess from no food in the refrigerator, mouse droppings etc almost looking abandoned like in this video .Big difference though most times only a week to a month since they have passed or placed in a hospital and when I arrive whomever is there to collect$$$ was a family member that totally neglected.

It's strange how life is, we live it bound to all of these earthly things that only are to be left behind, with no more purpose to them; when they used to mean so much. I look at the stuff I have and what other people I know have, and think how it's all going to be pretty much junk after we're gone. But, some of our things will tell the story, give hints about how we suffered, lived, our interests, age, etc..Life; it's here and then gone so fast.

I agree with you Jory I have seen some other videos with the person looking with little respect but it did seem that the place was explored with respect and left things as they were found. So sad that out of 6 children which is a pretty large family that family members have not cleared the house and sold it on. To just leave it empty and full of personal belongings I find really strange. Life can throw curve balls though and families are never simple in my experience. I have had my fair share of clearing relatives houses after they have passed away and it is not an easy or pleasurable job but one I have done a few times with the utmost respect and care.

Children just don't want to keep things now-a-days. I've keep and collected so many beautiful things over the years and now find myself in the process of evacuating my (over 100 year old) home by truck loads of boxes because family just isn't interested in holding onto any of it. Only people interested are dealers and collectors. It makes me sad. Family isn't even interested in old photos. I hate to allow strangers to go through cherished items, but then again it's just "things" and the memories and people are what is important. Leaving the homes "as is" is almost like a tribute to the person. I like it in a way, especially when respect is shown as "Bros Of Decay" always show in their videos. Much appreciated guys!

There's an old saying that says there is no dignity in death. We have no choice in how and when we die but we do have a choice in how we live. We will all leave possessions to rot and decay, this is natural. What matters is the legacy that we leave behind. Mother Teresa left only a basin and the shroud that she died in but oh my what a legacy.

It's a sad day when a complete stranger urban explorer cares more about the history of this deceased person than the surviving family members do.

    Phenomenal insight!
I'm still trying to mentally catch up after bringing that cassette tape and kitchen table to our attention!
And then some clothes in a closet!?!
    What a wealth of information!

I just love your explores!!! You always do your best to get background info and leave everything as found and not stealing!!! I hate that there are people who go homeless though and that there are so many places people could live just going to waste because of the greed of governments and the elitists controlling everything!!! Everyone should have a home and neccessities!!!! Anyway, great find and keep up the great work, much love and many blessings!!!

The prayer beads on the mantel are called rosary beads. Each bead is for a different prayer and on each set, there is four sets, it's called a decade. The rosary is a very big part of the catholic religion.

Hey Lesley, still playing catch up here. A few things to note:
    • The prayer beads are called Rosary beads.
    • The little figurines from her wedding cake are known as cake toppers.
    • The cross in her little "sitting room" is called a crucifix.
Stay safe and be wise. 😇

Enjoyed this look into how people live. It was a lot like this in America when I was growing up. Everyone had a wood stove to supplement the heating and to lower the energy bills. We had 6 kids, in an old farmhouse. Drafty, cold in winter, expensive to heat, but we enjoyed those years.

Hi guys... this is a really moving video....i don't mind to admit i cried whilst watching :: memories came flooding back to when i lived in Northern Utah... my grandma Bickley had a farmhouse the same in many ways {{ she would not leave her home to live with my mom n dad at our farm .... so independent she died at her own home in her own bed at an age of 109.. " god bless her" Lesley i was a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War.. i saw and experienced horrific scenes of man's inhumanity to man that one can never imagine :: but following you around this old lady's home was heart rendering so sad .. you Lesley and yout bros showed the greatest of respect and led us on a wonderful experience thankyou so much guys... all the best....Ed...Beverly Hills Ca...

The religious beads aren't made to be worn around the neck like a necklace. They are called a rosary and you are correct, they are for praying. If a cross has the body of Jesus on it it is called a crucifix. I have seen this video before but it is worth watching again. You Bros of Decay are the ones who got me addicted to these explorer videos. Thank you, I love them.
