There is a Stephen King Tag out there, but I think your Buddhist Path King Edition project sounds far more interesting! I have so many thoughts about expectations. In short, I think balanced expectations are a valuable part of what BookTubers/Reviewers can provide their viewers. That doesn't save readers from having disappointing experiences now and then, but I still see value in them. Good luck with your exams!

Oh, there are tons of SK tags, I am sure. I was thinking to do _non_ -Stephen King tags, but just only answer them with Sk books. I might still, as I haven't fully mapped out this project yet so I am not sure which books will be included...
I agree that having balanced expectations is important, and that is one thing we can help with by giving honest assessments that don't have any pretense toward objectivity but instead recognize and acknowledge our individual subjectivities. That said, I still am working my way around the ideas and language. When you create an expectation, even a balanced or thoughtful one, you are creating an imagined version of a thing, be it a book or person or event or what-have-you... But if we want to get the most of any experience, we should be engaging in the reality of that thing, not our projected, imagined version of a thing. So expectations are only useful if they open us up and remind us that our job is not to control or possess or demand anything but to meet it and let it exist as it is, and then participate in a relationship with that reality.... So the expectations are only useful when they can guide us somewhere but then we can drop them once we our pointed in the right direction and have started the journey. That feels like a fundamentally different thing then the type of expectations that we get from consuming hype about new books, and I am trying to negotiate more precise language to distinguish them...

Stephen King through a Buddhist lens? Put together the right pitch, I bet you could get a publisher interested in that!

Haha, you got me! I knew I would be able to monetize this whole Buddhist thing eventually!
More sincerely, while I don't know if I will be able to pull off this project as I hope to, my actual goal is simply to encourage people to find opportunities in their everyday lives to make their lives more meaningful, more fulfilling, and I think there are ways we can participate in relationships with art, even pop culture horror novels, that help facilitate that.

Thanks for your interest! I have only read the first novel, I don't have any experience with any of the sequels, but I do think it sounds like a great idea. Someone else recently recommended some non-Dune work by Herbert, and I managed to get a collection of his short stories as well as a bunch of other non-Dune novels. My guess is I will read at least some of those first, as I have a couple other trilogies in the queue, but I would love to re-read _Dune_ and then tackle that series, thanks for the motivation!
