- I found one of the cheapest apartments in Tokyo and got a pretty straight forward house tour of the cheapest apartment in Harajuku, Tokyo! This is theoretically a great location because it is located between Shinjuku and Shibuya which are both main hot spots in Tokyo. Would you live here if it meant you could live in CENTRAL Tokyo for really cheap? Let me know in the comments!

I found one of the cheapest apartments you can get in central Tokyo. Looking at current listings especially around Harajuku and Omotesando, this was by far the cheapest one we found, although more expensive than some of the other "Tokyo's cheapest apartments", this is actually located in central Tokyo!
I have literally lived in a room smaller than that in London UK for £600 a month ( in a shared flat) so I would easily live there. I would get one of those king size bunk beds with the desk underneath and a sofa bed too or storage, hang a picture frame that turns into a table and folding chairs that I can hang on the walls, microwave, rice cooker, mini fridge and kettle. I would wash my face and armpits in the toilet and get a gym membership for showers which will also help motivate me even more to work out. It can be easily done
@All things Las Vegas loool I always thought I would live well even as a homeless 😂 I’m just frugal like that, well I don’t need to struggle now I have recently bought a 4 story house with my frugal self 👌🏾👌🏾
@All things Las Vegas thank you hun, well I had to leave that hell hole of London for that. It was impossible to do over there with those hideous high rents, as much as I loved the metropolitan lifestyle, I had to go back to my country (Switzerland) to be able to settle down.
I'm guessing "toilet" doesn't mean what I think it means

Bro I just love everything about Japan. I just need someone to convince me that it won't be a life altering mistake to move to Japan and as God is my witness I will move to Japan.
Go on mate! I want to go too.
It will be a life altering change, but you will never know if it is a mistake or not, unless you try it.
@@DRAGONBLOODX I don't know man I have doubts. Financially I will do alright. But some people(UA-camrs) from my country who are already there as students or doing jobs don't recommend it
It won’t be a life altering mistake as long as you are prepared for the move (learned a bit of Japanese, get your college diplomas and work experience)!
Learn Japanese speaking, writing and reading. Learn about social rules and expectations. Learn the history so you can understand people better. Get a type of skill you can use anywhere in the world and is needed so you can become employed. Understand Japanese work culture, expectations and norms. Depending on the company, you may or may not have good work life balance. You may or may not be required to travel for more than 2 hours each way. You may or may not be expected to go to company after work drinking parties or team building events. Depending on where you live, it might be more or less expensive. Find out the laws and how foreigners are treated in Japan. Learn the rules for taxation. A lot of people struggle with the high taxes. Find out the kinds of foods you may or may not be able to get. Fruit and vegetables are amazing but fruit is expensive! There is a lot more to moving to a completely new country than just going there. And, know yourself. If you hate change, it might be tough on you. If you have a similar culture then you might be OK. Life is short though. Even if you go but hate it, just make sure you have a way to get back home. Perhaps you could do a short-term work experience and see how it goes. Also, find out what is expected for VISAS and find out about health care. Also, find out about banking and rental situations. It is really expensive to rent in Japan because you have to pay a fee to the landlord and first and last month rent etc. and you might need someone who can help you rent like an agency that specializes in it...but that will also cost. Some places won't rent to foreigners easily. A lot of places still use cash and ATM's are not always available at times you might want. Still, it might be a nice adventure. Good luck!!!
I like how your videos are so straight to the point. No wonder why your videos are not tiring to watch, especially since it’s Japan related! Always one of my #1 wonderful trips to go to one day.
Your Japan videos are awesome. I’ve learned so much!
Very unteresting, Shota! BTW, the vid you did with SHUNchan was the funniest thing I've seen this year, especially when you asked him, ernestly, "Does that mean I have to speak Keigo with you?"
Thank you for a nice video.
this is a really nice video man keep it up fr
I was crying when he said walk in closet😂
😂😂
I’ve been so busy this days I couldn’t visit UA-cam so I didn’t see your videos but I’m back
great video, I like the Japanese apartment tour, and only for 300 dollars, wow 👏 😊🎉
U deserve a million subs man
Hi, Shota! I'm subscribing to your channel because I saw you featured on Shunchan's video. Your interaction was really fun so now I want to see your content. 😊
Me too. You seem super chill.
Really appreciate it! We’re definitely going to have more contents coming soon together and I’ll be doing my best to post 1-2 long form videos a week as well!
I could totally stay there for a while with most of my valuables in some kind of storage, seems totally reasonable for $300 a month
I would totally love there
Not bad at all for men.
Great way to save $$$. Esp at university
Edit
I liked this video
You should look at more apts
And make videos for us to see too!
I’m in the states and i love seeing everything!!
That a good size apartment for like 300 a month wow 🙂
It reminds me of the apartment from Chobits. It also doesn't have a bath. Lol
Reminds me of that apartment from Jahy Sama
Okay. No shower.
I don't feel so bad about my tiny room in a sharehouse that's like USD550 a month including WiFi and utilities then. 😅
Can't wait to get a job so I can finally get a whole apartment to myself. Tokyo is expensive. 🙃
It's a 4.5 tatami mat room, like Tatami Galaxy 四畳半神話大系
It would do me fine for a month or two till I found somewhere better. Might get pretty cold though
Love from India ❤️❤️
Here in Vancouver bc that size apartment goes for about $850
Out of curiosity why don't apartments come equipped with shower? They could charge extra for water. It just seems silly. Or install group showering.
There's probably a public bath nearby.
Some places actually don't have showers, especially for older buildings.
It's a deal breaker for me though, definitely need a shower with hot water available at all times.
I would love to visit Japan but I’m going say no way to the accommodations 😀
What’s up Broski 🦋!
Nice
What is the song called at the beginning
I don’t like the no bathroom but everything else is very doable. I just need to sleep because I’ll be out in the city mostly.
This wouldn’t be so bad for a few months ! 😂
I just couldn’t live without a shower unfortunately! But I suppose other than that not bad!
Some time there a reason why some are so cheap even tho they in tokyo that reason you don't want to find out at night or 3am.
Yo the other side of the vending machine?
Never! I need a private toilet. And definitely a shower. But I do understand that if this is what you’re used too it’s fine. But after living in the states my whole life, especially Long Island, New York where yes rents are astronomical but in sharp contrast humongous size and amenities I couldn’t do it for an actual apartment.
まだこんなアパート東京にあったんだ!!
There's only one way you can convince me to go into that $300 apartment, NO way.
8m2 is really too small. Even a hotel room at 15m2 is already small. So, no. Not even to stay for a night. Wood or old is Ok, depending on the condition, but small floor area is really difficult regardless of the price. My old apartment was 98m2 in total with a balcony.
the fact that the 'really old style' toilet is the same as a normal toilet in china
There are more cheaper apartment here in Shinjuku‼️😃🇯🇵
Yo can I get some more information?
Yeah me aswell. Would really like to know!
@@getsetcode8162 and @Bouz, the 300$ is way cheaper than I expected, the cheapest apartments in shinjuku is ranging $400-$500 without any advance payment. It has a communaL BATHROOM AND SHOWERS, YOU CAN DO Laundry and each room has an air conditioning unit. That’s why the price is a bit higher. The place is in Shinjuku Kabukicho.
I’LL check out the exact address then I post it here.
I can see using it as an office or emergency crash pad, but not a full time residence
Agreed, but it also doesn’t have a heater or AC so idk if I would use it as an office either 😅
@@ShotasPOV that would really make it tough, sweating all over the paperwork isn't a good look
I'm an American looking at these like "I bet I could shoestring vacationing in Japan for very cheap, live off of instant noodles, wander the cities. I would be like a foreign home away from home.
Do you know if I can get in contact with the owners of this apartment? I would love to live there
Damn!! 300 $ a month for 8 m² !
...
...
...
still cheaper than NEW YORK.
Facts haha, I’ve never even heard of an apartment that cheap in New York or LA these days
Its like "kos-kosan", in indonesia
I mean if you want to go to onsen everyday that’s a deal.
I love the retro Japanese look, and I’m a big fan of harajuku fashion. I would love to live in that apartment lmao it would be enough for me. I would need to find some place to take a shower though lol
This is just enough space for me to put a kitchen, bed, desk, and bathroom. And by bathroom I mean a buncha pee bottles I don't think I can get a toilet in there.
Yo
Looks familiar from a bad memory
How much?
he said walk in closet tho 😂
It is not a bad bedroom for travelling or overnight? This cheat room is a little bit hustle for people, they have toilets but no shower area. If people live with the cheapest apartments in Japan, they have to deal with tiny rooms either way no kitchen or bathroom.
No bath, no toilet, no way
I have seen more expensive New York apartments that are much worse places to live.
OMG HAHAHA 2ND 😈😈🥵🥶🥶🥶🥵🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Oh man you guys are all like an hour early 🤣🤣
ShotasPOV I have a demon slayer cafe or restaurant in the Philippines btw Do you want a pic? Of it I Still have it!
Those buildings made of concrete, post ww2?
Just in case … protection from nuclear fallout
i mean it looks neat and all, but i'd never live anywhere that doesn't have the neccesities for basic human hygiene.
The no shower thing was definitely questionable.... but then again if you really wanted/needed to it if you have a gym membership or something they have showers and stuff there too so 😅😂
$300 here will get you a very nice appartment
Probably haunted for the price
How old are you? Or can anyone else answer the question
The sink can also be used as a urinal.
😅
yo?
Ah no... This kind of apartments are security and fire risks. Better settle with a mansion unit instead......
Ummmm yeah, it's a clean slum...
First
Wow you’re the earliest, before the video is even posted wtf 😂😂
3rd
🥉 🥉 ayo you’re so early wtf 😂😂
@@ShotasPOV thx bro big fan
Looks really filthy to me.
I could live in it
