  • Here are some unreleased songs that could've appeared on a hypothetical album if one were to have been released in either 1986 or 1987. Some of the studio tracks included here were released as extras on the 4 disc compilation boxset entitled "Statement: The Complete Recordings". Obviously these tracks were originally meant for a different type of release which unfortunately never materialized. Reason why i've included them here (and i've only just now realized that "Cupid" should've been included as that's also a non-album 1986 track).
    Track listing is as follows:
    00:00 - 01 - Hot Slots
    02:53 - 02 - Mirrors & Glass
    05:01 - 03 - Stranger
    08:23 - 04 - The Money's Not Real
    10:34 - 05 - Abort The System
14:14 - 06 - Waiting for the Heat (later shortened to "The Heat")
    19:23 - 07 - Oh, Boy - It's A Girl
    22:38 - 08 - I Hate The West
    27:08 - 09 - Seducer
    29:58 - 10 - Let It Go
33:44 - 11 - Waiting for the Heat (A version including Cynth Ethics on synth)
    38:30 - 12 - Oh, Boy - It's A Girl (Bob & Vi 7" version)
    42:36 - 13 - The Force
Tracks 2, 5 & 10 are from the out-of-print 'Statement' boxed set and were previously unreleased before that compilations release. Track 12 is from the obscure 'Bob & Vi' 7" single that released in 1986. The track features Robert Lloyd of The Nightingales on duet with Vi Subversa. I left the B-side, "Keep Lying, I Love It", off of this because it doesn't appear to have ever been a Poison Girls song (meaning it was most likely written for that 7" release). All the rest of the tracks come from various live recordings of shows all performed in 1986, at the tail end of the bands career.
Cynth Ethics left the band sometime in 1986 to pursue other interests, which is why I included two versions of "Waiting for the Heat". A song that later appeared shortened to "The Heat" on the 'Aids: The Musical' cassette tape, which I have yet to ever personally hear.
Am I missing something from this potential album that you know of? Let me know in the comments. I think this would've been a wonderful album if it ever saw the light of day. That is if any of these other live songs ever saw the inside of a recording studio.
