See, it's funny that I bring this up to my friends. What if, a big what if, but what if we pulled the national champion VS. the worst team in the NFL? Just see what would happen? These teams who win HAVE first, second, and third round picks all over their roster, why would they not be able to face off an NFL team that doesn't seem to have their act together? It would give us one more game in the season, as well as an opportunity to see if possibly a college team could compete in this higher class AS a college team. Just a random thought that I would love to see happen.

Two great things about this play:
1. After the sack, Tua is cool as a cucumber. He doesn't shake his head he doesn't throw up his arms...he simply stands up and looks on the sidelines for the next play. I don't know many 21 or 22-year-olds who could do that.
2. On the touchdown pass, total confidence because Tua is leading the safety to the right the entire drop back doesn't even look at Smith the last second he simply looks left and bombs. He knew where he was going the entire time but he didn't let on one bit. . More QBs need to do that 
The calmness and composure he had after he got sacked on first down in OT is what makes legends.

I don't know about fans, but I know Saban was chomping mad. I loved it after the throw, where he stared in disbelief between curses, then looked around to verify that others were celebrating before he actually believed they had won it.
At least that is exactly what it looked like. It's not shown in this video, but other videos that have a camera on Saban as the play is going on, he is stomping down the sideline, and looks over his shoulder to see the play. Stops and stares, others start to jump up and down and he looks at them, then he starts to celebrate.
As a fan i was not mad. I had been begging for him to play all year. He proved me right.
I remember thinking “oh well. Can’t win em all” and fully coming to terms with this loss between the time of the sack and the next snap and then I saw the release, JUST the release and there was a confidence in it and I said out loud to my dad,”oh he’s got a man...” and when the ball fell in me and my dad didn’t cheer, didn’t scream or cry or fist pump we just stared in stunned silence at what has to be the most dramatic finish to a college football game ever.
I thought, "now he has more room to pass!" and did he!! Never get tired of watching this. Mahalo Tua for that lifetime memory

coming from a clemson fan here, nick saban is the only coach in football with the balls to pull a senior quarterback out of the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game and hand the reigns to a freshman. hes also the only man that can make it work. one of the GOATS of college football. truly a great coach.

I knew! I was screaming at the tv every week, watching Jalen pretend to be a qb. I followed him from the elite 11. He straight killed it in that competition! He was hitting everyone in stride and just making every good decision there was to make. When i saw that insane accuracy displayed so consistently, i knew he was special. Then Trent started telling me everything i already saw. He said Tua was the best qb he'd ever seen. That's saying a lot! So yea, some of us knew.
Deja Ruiz Spinney I did, I wanted him to start the season and was frustrated as hell during the iron bowl and was hoping saban would have put him in then 1 because it would have increased our chances of winning 2 even if we still lost tua would have gotten much needed experience in a hostile environment because I had a feeling we'd still make the playoffs and I knew at some point during the playoffs tua would see playing time and I was right. I was so confident that tua would start the 2nd half vs UGA that as soon as they went in for halftime I posted on someone's halftime video that tua will start and spark the offense before officially knowing he'd start idk every fiber of my being just told me that's what's going to happen don't worry and it did happen lol

That is a critical part of his job to make those judgments and adjustments quickly. They get faster through reading defense like thousands of times. That offense is so loaded... Tua, Hurts, Ruggs, Najee, Ridley, Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, Devonta Smith, and Jerry Jeudy. Quite literally an NFL caliber offense.
I believe that roster was the best offense Alabama has had since I started watching in 12 when they played the Dawgs for SEC.
As a Bama fan watching this game live as it happened was a whirlwind of emotions. Watching this back brings so many amazing memories and a love for Bama football. I will never forget the amount of shirts that said #tuascaloosa after this game. Roll tide!

Learning under Fitzpatrick was the best thing for him. A lot of the younger running/scrambling QBs will ditch the pocket to find a receiver. If he can learn from Fitzpatrick how to stay and take a big hit for long yardage, he’ll be able to do what’s needed.
(Obviously I don’t want him to get hurt. But it can only help to learn shifting in the pocket, as well as his ability to run bootlegs and first down scrambles).

This game is like top 3 most electric bama games I've ever seen. Watching this I'm reliving the absolute angush of him getting sacked, and the euphoria that came when he looked of the safety and torched GA on the next play. LOVE this kid.

The title of video should be "Against all odds." A true freshman with only mop up duties the entire season was put on the biggest stage of his college career in front of millions and he prevailed. I have nothing against Jalen Hurts, but he gave up his starting position when he couldn't move the offense in a national championship game and had to be benched. Hurts followed up his poor performance in the natty with a worse performance in the Spring A-Day game in Tuscaloosa.
Some folks are on here saying that Jalen is 26-2 and Saban like his quarterbacks to be game managers instead of a gunslinger like Tua. First of all, Jalen Hurts is not a game manager. A game manager distribute the ball to key players whether it's running or passing. Jalen targeted mostly one receiver Calvin Ridley for most of the season. The only other person who had significant catches was running back Bo Scarbrough.
AJ McCarron was a true game manager who distributed the ball all over the field. Jalen Hurts is a one read only run QB. Saying that Hurts is a game manager is ridiculous. Tua is the true definition of a game manager.
