This one was a close second!!
coach saban carrying on great tradition .bama always has great D.bear had team in early 60s allowed less than 3 points average.team year before averaged giving up bout 5 pts a game.
I couldn’t have imaged being an LSU fan this night (at the game or at home). I say that more so due to history in Louisiana versus Alabama. Plus it’s not that Bama didn’t deserve a rematch under any circumstance, they just didn’t deserve a rematch under this particular (unfair) circumstance.
That’s a reasonable perspective. I personally thought the 2013 (Mettenberger crawling off the field) was when Bama separated from LSU. There were close games after that year but Bama was just a level above. Even when LSU came to Tuscaloosa undefeated in 2015, although I didn’t quite expect Fournette to be limited to 30 yards (though it also didn’t surprise me due to Coach Miles’ predictable scheme), I had a good feeling Bama would control that game as they did.
Most satisfying of this game was watching honey badger get destroyed in the pass game and then on a punt return when 10 Alabama players hit him they stood him up just to try and take his head off. Then the commentators treated the 50 yard line like it was LSU goal line lol.
Nothing close to that Defense. At least that Defense could shut down a high powered passing attack. The current Defense can only slow one down. Big difference.
But what great offense did they play that year? The 2011 defense was great but they weren't tested as much as the other national championship defenses Alabama has had.
@@matthewjones1353 Exactly. Facing Jordan Jefferson is nothing like facing Deshaun Watson or Kyler Murray. It doesn't matter how good your defense is, it's still easy to get shredded. 2016 Alabama was rated higher for defensive S&P than 2011 and they still got shredded sometimes. NFL defenses get shredded sometimes. 2011 Alabama would get shredded if they played some of the modern offenses.
This is the reason why we have the CFP now, yeah my Tigers and your Crimson Tide were the best teams in the country, but damnit they are both in the same conference AND division, cmon now you know we weren't prepared, that 9-6 game was enough i didn't wanna see them again in the NC lmao
DeShaun Hayes Lol,this comment is a few months old but you can believe anything you want, but Alabama has also been lucky they've slipped in this game and the 2013 game vs Notre Dame but hey mistakes happen
CFP is the best teams in the nation, not the best teams from each conference. If those two teams are SEC, so be it. The two best are the the two best teams, point blank. Conference matters none. The top heavyweights play for the marbles.

Every time I watch this game I think about the joke that came out a couple of days afterwards: Do you know why LSU's team buses are still stuck in New Orleans? Somebody painted a 50-yard-line across the Interstate. LOL
Honestly, if LSU would’ve had a decent QB they would’ve been one of the best teams of all-time. (Beckham Jr. and Landry??) But they ended up being the 2nd best team of ‘11 instead. Also Bama winning in ‘09, auburn buying a NC in ‘10, Bama vs. LSU in ‘11 (Ark was ranked #3 during bowl season I believe) Bama in ‘12, auburn not paying and losing in ‘14. The West is a beast and always has been. Folks complaining about their Big10 schedules. 😂
LSU skunked UGA 42-10 in the SEC Championship, and ran up the score on plenty of teams that year. Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and Alfred Blue. Their offense was overflowing with NFL talent. Alabama's defense was just THAT good. I still say one of, if not the best, in CFB history. Roll Tide Roll!
I think that the switch to Jefferson after Jarrett Lee started and played well most of the season was a problem. Lee was a game manager, like McCarron in this game. He played well against Alabama in LSU's win in 2010, but struggled in Tuscaloosa, in LSU's 9-6 win. But I think Miles mishandled that situation, and then his failure to put Lee in this game was a mistake also. Of course, I'm glad it turned out the way it did. LSU's 2011 team, in my book, is the best team ever not to win a national championship.
Alabama gave up only 92 yards, had only 1 penalty (with less than 3 minutes in the game), and only allowed LSU to cross the 50yo with 8 minutes left in the game. As Musberger said, they played as if the 50 yard line was the goal line. Best defensive effort I've seen in a national championship game.

Blayze Montgomery what?? Our fg kicker was terrible all year that year
We haven't had a good kicker since Van Tiffin
@@scottrackley4457 his son was better. He even broke his dads records.
And that’s a shameful thought!!!!!!! We really need to recruit a kicker or mabe groom one for 4 years from a high in Bama!!!!!🤷🏾♂️🤞🏾
LSU should've asked the Georgia Southern offense to play for them for this game.
i like his quote at the end there ;)
If nick Saban never goes to Bama, LSU probably wins back to back titles in 2011,2012
If saban never left lsu they would be an on going dynasty
Imagine being an LSU fan and paying money to go to this game.
This is the game where Alabama ended LSU for a decade. They were still good, but they were never really a threat.
Coach Miles did not want Alabama a second time. Ask him.
Watch the interview after LSU beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa. He said that it'll be an honor to play that team again(referring to Alabama)
@@christiankeller3656 he didn’t want to. Would you rather here him say “fuck that team they don’t deserve anything”? LSU was robbed regardless.
LSU got DOMINATED! The great big goose egg. Roll Tide Roll.
low key forgot obj played for lsu in this national championship game and eddie lacy was a GOD in college
passing on 1st downs is why we won
Most satisfying of this game was watching honey badger get destroyed in the pass game and then on a punt return when 10 Alabama players hit him they stood him up just to try and take his head off. Then the commentators treated the 50 yard line like it was LSU goal line lol.
What a damn squad we had. Miss those dominate defenses
You will never see a point gap this big between these 2 teams ever again

'Bama blows LSU out all the time. 29-0 55-17 38-17 10-0 on their home field, all just in the past decade since this beatdown.
Back to back National Champions. ROLL TIDE!
When defense used to be real.
adajoy215 still is
Nothing close to that Defense.
@@matthewjones1353 Look at the NFL receivers LSU had on that team. They couldn't do anything against Bama.
Eddie Lacy ate his career away.
I absolutely love the roar of the crowd when Bama got that 1st down on the faked punt.
So basically Alabama's field goal kicker skunked LSU except for the 1 touch down of Richardson...........lol
Yeah. Bama won.
Not showing the Alabama defense throughout the video is utterly absurd
All credit to Bama's defense, but does anybody know what went wrong with LSU's offense in this game? It's like they didn't show up or have a plan.
This is the reason why we have the CFP now, yeah my Tigers and your Crimson Tide were the best teams in the country, but damnit they are both in the same conference AND division, cmon now you know we weren't prepared, that 9-6 game was enough i didn't wanna see them again in the NC lmao
tikaij exactly cause yall new yall got lucky we proved we always be the king of th sec roll tide roll
@@deshaunhayes5359 I bet you if yall won in the season and LSU somehow got in the title game, that y'all would've lost
@@christianrichardson8956 they didn't cross the 50 until the second half nah we weren't losing this game from the start
These were 2 nfl teams and lsu had a middle school qb
Surprised Brad Wing didn't get a late hit on Maze on that kick return.
nah it wasn't late, he simply pushed Maze out of bounds,

Jordan Jefferson and Les’s refusal to put in Jarrett Lee cost us a championship
Noone was gonna beat that Alabama defense that night.
If LSU had a quarterback they could won that game
@@RadicallyOptimistic wrong ! Didn't matter the qb they had les . He would still find a way to grab defeat from the jaws of victory
I must have missed it, but in that game Jefferson screamed out at his teammates, "They're fucking everywhere!"
Scott Rackley no that was the Michigan State quarterback in 2015
@@thetruthandnothingbutthetr6484 and the Washington qb as well in the playoffs.
Plus HOW CAN A #1 RANKED TEAM GET SKUNKED BY A #2 RANKED TEAM IN THE BCS!?!?
Ask 2018 Bama that.
And this is how Alabama became band wagoner nation
And this is when all the pathetic haters came from the woodworks lmao.
Lorenzo Valencia Not what your mom said
Strange isn't it? Can't believe people would rather watch Alabama than Rice.
@@williamcalvert1957 Rice is 3-0 vs Alabama all time lmao
They got a name for the winners in the world, I want a name when I lose, they call Alabama the Crimson Tide call me deacon blues. Lyrics from Deacon Blues by Steely Dan. Released September 23rd 1977. I just want you to know that Alabama didn't just start winning. Saban might have returned them to prominence but they ain't new to this they grew to this.
QB play was the story on this game. Miles needed to be fired for not playing J. Lee! Miles ego was on full display here, not LSU!
Good tackle by the qb of lsu even tho he threw an interception lol😂😂😂
It was a horse collar.
Greatest defense ever. Period.
Good defense by LSU... Only thing that kept this game close... LSU offense sucked 🙈 and Jefferson 😁
Donta Hightower always get a huge strip sack roll tideeee go pats!!!!
Are you a Warriors fan also
Helluva defensive game by Bama, and LSU, but lordy how I hate field goals!!! Roll Tide
Defense wins championships, discipline avoids penalties.
the fgs alabama made were not short kicks
